How am I an armchair dev? I just think certain tech cards could be decent in standard, but I don't care if they stay in wild. I barely know what I'm talking about. I couldn't care less what the devs do, and honestly I think they've done a fine job in the game (hence why I still play this game lol). I think you took something I said waaayyyy too seriously and you're taking some pent up rage out on an online forum, which I guess is fine, everyone does it.
Again, needlessly personal and mean. I'm sorry that Dirty Rat fucked you in the past. And I'm sorry about whatever may have happened to you in the past. There's better ways to have constructive conversations with people. People are allowed to disagree on things lol.
Edit: I realize you started out speaking mostly constructive. Just this morning you seem a bit angry, and that's fine haha. Anyways, all I tried to say in the beginning was, Dirty Rat was a fine balanced card. No need to call me a complete moron who's a detriment to the community (among other implied things haha). Just escalated quickly was all =P.
Hm. Couldn't have anything to do with thinking Dirty Rat which fucks up more matchups, is a-okay, while Caverns Below which is literally a single match-up, is broken and needed nerfing. It's completely idiotic and inconsistent as you can possibly be.
I'm actually glad that Dirty Rat is gone, because it means that the entire Combo Deck design space gets un-fucked in Standard. People can actually TRY something beyond go face, wait out opponent or pray for mid-range to work. It ENABLES innovation. Dirty Rat, if anything, was an awful card for that. Everyone had to run it, or fall behind. That's literally the definition of bad design. "Run this neutral card or lose" is awful. It's the same reason why Patches + 2 pirates was awful.
And no. That is not being mean. Telling you that you're a short-sighted fool because you think you can design what you've personally said that you've never tried to do is pretty much telling you that rain is wet. That's like saying "I'm going to design a new class of fighter jet!" when you've never even flown period, let alone in a fighter cockpit.

I literally don't care one way or another that Dirty Rat is gone. I'm actually glad for it because it means that the entire Combo Deck design space gets un-fucked in Standard. Did I say the rogue quest was all broken and everything? I don't recall ever saying that. It was a frustrating match, sure, but I thought it was fine too =/. I really had no problem with the quest rogue, and that was when I was playing the slower control decks. I donno. Even combo decks like Razakus priest thrived when Dirty Rat was present (hence me calling it balanced).
Anyways, as I said, there are better ways to have a constructive discussion about a disagreement than calling someone a hypocritical moron (I never said anything hypocritical lol) who is detrimental to the community.
So, again, I'm sorry about whatever happened haha. We all have bad days. I just kinda said something in passing that I figured nobody would even notice lol.

I played a good amount of the newer revised KeleWock Shaman yesterday (Keleseth + elemental package + Hagatha + shudderwock pacakage) and did quite well with it. My advice would be to be aggressive. The ONLY decks I had trouble with was odd paladin if I didn't draw my clears and same with huntards. Everything else I beat. So be as aggressive as you can. Cause if the shaman draws the 4 piece combo it's over for you.
Theoretically if you can play enough spells and drop Alanna turn 9 if you're going first, maybe you could win with some additional burn damage or Alex as a follow up? It's a long shot and I'm not sure if it's correct, but maybe?
The only way I have found to beat them is the RNG death grip from lich king. I know that isnt exactly helpful, but keep the board clear and hope to rip a combo piece then pray.
It's interesting how people say that this matchup is super polarized, even though vicious syndicate says that Big Spell Mage has about a 38.5% winrate against shudderwock at legend and a 33% winrate at all ranks. This number is probably a little lower than it should be due to instant concedes.
Although I don't play Big Spell Mage, I do play Shudderwock shaman, and the best way for the mage to win is through pressure (think Dragoncaller Alana).
Overall, I think you should play the matchup out, especially in a ladder setting (since average ladder players aren't that good); odd paladin vs. taunt warrior is more lopsided.
When I lose to Big Spell Mage it's always because of a well timed Alana or a Shudder fizzle. So yeah Alana is basically your only way out since all other threats are easily dealt with. It might even be correct to just spew AOE so that you can get her out as fast as possible. Against a bad Shudder opponent you can try to overdraw him. But that's not very reliable.
Either that or just replace your win conditions with the Exodia combo. I've had a lot of success with a build like that all though Shudder is still an unfavorable matchup but it doesn't feel as hopeless.

Ok, fine, I go back on my word. Dirty Rat was the most broken tech card ever and I'm glad it only exists in Wild.
You win man lol. I see the error in my ways.

Wait 2 more months until the dirty rat replacement is printed. It's coming.
Decks are getting insanely greedy, there will be something printed to put that greed in check.
Dirty Rat in my opinion may have been the most interesting card printed. But apparently not everyone shares my opinion on that.
I say BM him to death
