So I used this deck to reach Legend last season. Really strong in this meta and can beat aggro and outvalue control.
Edit:
OMG I did not expect this to be so popular! Thank you all so much for your support. Thank you for all your kind words, and for commenting. Thank you for your questions, and for your videos. People have even added me ingame to chat with me! Again thank you all so much for the support, it has been amazing!
Mulligan:
So a lot of people look for the Mulligan when they see a deck. Mulligan is a very important skill in Hearthstone and something everyone should focus on. Often try to hard mulligan for the cards you need. Here are some of the cards you should be looking for.
Almost always try to get Fire Fly and Jade Claws. I generally keep Flametongue Totem to keep my opponent from having the early board get out of hand. Generally I throw everything else away.
Maelstrom Portal is good against Pirate Warrior, but you never know if you face Taunt or Pirates. (A good tips: If they hover over their right most card it's generally Pirate Warrior. Taunt Warrior will keep their quest, hence not having a reason to throw it away). I usually don't like keeping Lightning Storm against anything other than Hunter, since Murloc deck often buff their minions higher than 3 health.
Mana Tide Totem can be good against slower deck if you have a playable one and two drop. The same applies to Stonehill Defender, atlhough you can keep this against aggro if you have the one and two drop.
In short word: Always keep Fire Fly and Jade Claws. Generally keep Flametongue Totem. I don't like keeping AOE even against aggro since a lot of the minions have more three or more attack. If you know it is Pirate Warrior it is okay to keep Maelstrom Portal
Key Cards:
This deck has a lot of ways to win (will discuss that later), but here are the key cards/combos.
Doppelgangster + Evolve: This is the main reason I wanted to make this deck. Don't really feel like I need to explain why this is insane. This has just won me games at turn 6.
Stonehill Defender: In my opinion one of the best cards from Journey to Un'goro. Helps you survive against aggro, and gives that value against Control. I won a game against the most greedy Priest deck with a lot of help from this card. Just look at the cards it can discover: Al'Akir the Windlord, Thing from Below, White Eyes and even Stonehill Defender. In some cases Hot Spring Guardian can even be a savior. Also it has synergy with Flametongue Totem against Aggro.
Spirit Echo: This card is INSANE! Can give you back a free Thing from Below, another Aya Blackpaw and Stonehill Defender. This card makes me win against greedy control decks if I can hit good targets. I love it so much that I have considered putting in one more.
Other card choices:
Fire Fly: One of my favorite cards in the whole games. Such a balanced one drop, yet it is used in almost all decks. Early synergy with Flametongue Totem.
Removals: Maelstrom Portal and Lightning storm speaks to itself. They are insane. Hex is also really strong, but know what to use it for. Insanely good against Tirion Fordring and Savannah Highmane. Some of you might be surprised by the inclusion of two Volcanos, but I love them! Basically says remove all your opponents minions(as long as they don't have Deathrattle). Makes you stay alive and do one of your combos. I have won a game by removing my opponent's minions and then played a free Thing from Below combined with Doppelgangster, The Coin and Evolve.
Jade Package: The package isn't big, but it can win games. Has synergy with Evolve. I found it to good to not include.
Cards that didn't make the cut (not finished):
Bloodmage Thalnos: Would be really strong, but I simply didn't find the spot for it. We get spell damage from the Hero Power, but this is one of the cards that I would consider swapping in.
Bloodlust: Is just a dead card most of the time. Sometimes makes you kill your opponent one turn faster, but not worth it. I would not recommend it.
Possible replacements (will add more):
- Master of Evolution -> + Jinyu Waterspeaker if you face a lot of aggro (suggested by Robotically)
Videos showcasing the deck:

Whenever someone says they have a 70% winrate in high legend, (assuming they've played enough games) in something with as much variance as HS I know that's bullshit and don't trust anything else they say.
Kaalek, my friend, i am taking back my words (dating 5 of may) about your deck and its awfulness. Now, when i played around 100 games with it i can say that your list is decent. My current WR is 53 % so i can say that your deck is good!
Big up, man!
Arcane Giant doesn't have any synergy and I think it would actually be a bad card for this deck. If you have to replace it I think a Jade Chieftain would be better
Amazing deck, i teched in one jinyu and one devolve, as there isn't much quest rogue anymore. Really helps out against taunts and the like. Healing helps vs any aggro as well, really solid deck.
Excellent deck for my current rank in the mid-teens. I was able to defeat Priests, Warlocks, Pirate Warriors, and even a secret-heavy Mage. Since I did not have 2 copies of Spirit Echo, I included one Eater of Secrets which HDHunty suggested, I think I made that Mage cry a little. Consider this a tech option which could be subbed out for The Black Knight or healing mechanism if needed. I used it as a vanilla, albeit weak, 4 drop that sometimes benefited from an Evolve or Flametongue Totem. Nice work on the deck and thank you.
I remain,
Dieter Maassen
So I started playing this deck when I was rank 15 at the start of this season, and as always with new decks it takes a couple of games to learn what works and when. So by the time I was rank 10 I started swapping and trying out new stuff, but I always came back to this deck list, but with one small change: -1 Master of Evolution and +1 Hot Spring Guardian.
This has gotten me to rank 5 on the EU ladder now. Of course every deck has some kind of counter, so don't expect a "80% win rate YEEAH" but it most likely has gotten me 55% which my climb can confirm.
Solid deck, 5/7.
any replacements for maelstrom portal?
You do not want to replace this :) It's kinda mandatory for Shaman.
Ever thought of putting moat lurker or bomb squad? Might work well with evolve
They do work very well from my experience in arena, however you don't want a bad card in your deck for the combo that is situational. The combo needs to not be reliant on there being a big threat, which it isn't in this iteration. The Bomb Squad / Moat Lurker is also a VERY bad card if not used with the combo, and has much better replacements.
I'm playing around with the Spirit Echo slot. Trying Eater of Secrets especially now that Secrets Mage has become sort of a thing. Bloodlust doesn't seem to work too well, a lot of times it comes up as a draw when I would've wanted something else. Otherwise if I use it to win the game it was probably a win-more card that I didn't need.
Don't work with quest rogue and mage at all. Pretty bad with hunter. My max rank with this deck 14, can't get upper, I think it's not good deck.
Strategy against Mage? Cannot buy a win against them with this deck no matter what.
Try adding an eater of secrets into the deck.
I run a version of this deck withDevolve instead of Mana Tide Totem and Jade Guardian as a massive evolve target. A turn 8 Jade Guardian followed by Evolve is really dangerous and produces extreme value.
Devolve demolishes silence priest, murlocs, and combo rogues (RIP Van Cleef).
Even though I had limited success with this deck at rank 10 in standard so far, it's really fun to play despite you having to rely on RNG way too much. Thinking about cutting 1-2 cards for Bloodlust since I can't seem to be able to close out games even with a decent amount of minions on the board.
Where the standard Jade Shaman feels too reliant on Bloodlust in terms of success, this seems to do better, but I feel Bloodlust could make some games a lot easier while not necessarily negatively impacting the gameplay. Or maybe I'm simply not (yet) good enough to use its potential properly.
I'm confused on when to use Spirit Echo because using it in this deck seems useless at most points in the game, having this card makes me feel like I can do better with a Bloodmage Thalnos because I'm always behind in board and have tons of board clear cards but no spell damage even after rolling totem and getting a 1/1 or a taunt
Any tips please?
the idea is for late game post evo play to get more value...not overly effective. replace with Halazeal
Sadly I don't have that card, anything else?
identify where you have a weakness are you dying too quickly add a heal are finding you have board but no damage add blood lust.
