12/19/2018: And another nerf for this deck. I will keep Nourish and will test how it works out. Nonetheless the deck is quite a bit weaker now.
12/12/2018: Since the Aviana Nerf made Togwaggle and Star Aligner Druid much weaker I decided to give my Malygos Druid another shot. As long as there are not too many decks around with Dirty Rat it still works quite well so far.
Update Boomsday: With a heavy heart I decided that Boomsday is the first expansion for which I don't update this deck. Thanks to Psychmelon Togwaggle Druid is currently in a much stronger spot than Malygos Druid in Wild Mode.
04/12/2018: Updated the deck for Witchwood. Took out Alex for the version with 2x Faceless Manipulator. I also replaced Ultimate infestation since I had so many situation where it was a dead card. Even if I could play it my hand was so stacked, that I was not able to further cycle through my deck with my other draw cards.
03/01/2018: Just finished the Wild Brawliseum with 12 Wins with this deck.
09/10/2017: Made some Minor Changes. 2nd Doomsayer instead of Tar Creeper and Auctioneer instead of Azure Drake to have better draw. Nonetheless Earthen Scales are currently not in the setup, since the additional draw is not necessary and Feral Rage has more flexibility. Just made it to Rank 1 Legend with this deck.
What a lovely deck, thanks.
You are welcome. Glad you like it. :)
Best replace for Thalnos?
New 2 mana spell damage or Loot Hoarder? Thanks. Nice deck :D
Edit: Nevermind, dusted some goldens and managed to craft Thalnos.
It's working good on ladder at ranks 10~
Glad you like the deck. :)
Just for other people who have te same question. I would recommend running a second Azure Drake. It fulfills the same task as Thalnos with Card Draw and Spell Dmg. Thalnos has the advantage to have an earlier board clear together with Swipe at turn 6.
Nonetheless Thalnos is always a good investment since he works in many different decks.
I'm having trouble with some Midrange Paladins and Tempo Rogues. Any tips?
I think it would be cool if you record some matches for us to understand your kind of playing.
Thanks again!
Midrange Decks are not the best MUs for this deck. Its main strength are slower decks.
Your main tools against Midrange decks are all removal spells (you can and have to use Moon Fire to remove small Minions or Divine Shields) and the Dommsayers. Especially vs Paladin a T2 Doomsayer is a big tempo gain, because he usually cant remove it.
So hard Mulligan in these MU for all removal spells (excluding Mulch), Doom Sayer and Wild Growth. Throw away Mire Keeper because he is too slow.
Here you can see some replays against Midrange Paladin and Tempo Rogue:

You play really well. I guess my problem was saving too much stuffs for the "otk" part of it. But often you win by stabilizing the game. That's quite interesting.
Helped me a lot. Thank you so much!
I'm glad to help if I can.
And yes, it is very important to understand that vs aggressive decks the otk combo is not the win condition, but to survive long enough that you overwhelm your opponent just because you get more value from your cards.
What do u think about adding malfurion the pestilent and maybe fandral?
Malfurion DK: I don't have the card so I have not tested it yet. It is another defensive option so you could replace 1 Belcher with it. I eould rather not recommend to use it. Vs aggro decks it is a little bit too slow and vs slower decks the game normally does not go for enough turns to get good value from the improved hero power.
I removed Fandral conciously from the deck. When you have Infestation in your hand Fandral is a problem sometimes. You don't want to draw cards with wrath and Nourish in this situation. In a lot of situations recetly he was just a dead card for me.
After playing the deck for a while now i found that adding a faceless manipulator gave alot more kill potential. I found myself using some spells to clear boards way to often and ending almost no spells to end the game, and espesially when alexstrasza was somewhere on the bottom of the deck. And also with the innervate nerfs and spreading plague what would be good cards to replace these?
Faceless Manipulator is just another combo piece. At the moment I am happy with my current setup and I don't see the advatage of adding Faceless. Could you please describe in more detail where you see the additional kill potential and which card do you cut for it?
It is critical while piloting the deck to decide when to use your spells for removal. One Swipe you can always use for board clear. The other one should be kept if there are other posibilities to survive. The decision also depends which kind of opponent you are facing. Vs aggro and midrange decks you can use your spells more generous since you dont need the combo in the end to kill them.
At first I will keep both nerved cards. I currently run a version with Auctioneer instead of one Azure Drake where 1mana Innervate will still do its job. One copy of Spreading Plague is still good with 6 Mana, since we have enough other 5 Mana drops.
i found myself often using spells to stall the game untill i got all the combo pieces, and sometimes removing a moonfire or two to use ultimate infestation. So i would often end up with maybe one or two spells to use,but there were also times were i had all the spells but not alex, and with the 5 extra spell damage provided from facelessing maly i could kill them from 20+ and maybe even 30+ health . i just felt it added more options for ending the game especially in those situations were i needed to end it fast before i would just die. I removed thalnos for faceless.
But man the deck is fun :)
In the end all is good if it works for you. So if you have a better feeling with Faceless use it. I often struggle with a klunky hand full of combo pieces but no draw. So at the moment I would not make this change. But maybe our playstyle is different and Faceless is the better choice for you.
Thanks for the deck, it is really fun to play. BTW what do you think about keeping 2 copies of moonfire, 1 copy of AoW and having 2 x Mire Keepers ?
What else would you cut beside 1 AoW to run an extra Moonfire and Mire Keeper? But I will explain why I currently use the setup with 2 AoWs and 1 each of Moonfire and Mire Keeper.
AoW really shines when it can be played early vs Aggro Decks. There it is often a win condition on its own. Vs midrange/control it is even a tool to put the opponent under pressure if he has no immediate answer. Its weakness are removals. If an AoW gets sapped or frogged you often lose immediately. In all other Matchups it usually doesnt hurt as much, when you can play other fatties in the following turns which are then more safe. Here it helps when you can play another AoW after the first one got removed. Another advantage is that it can be played without the condition to have other specific cards in your hand.
Moonfire is mostly played in two situations: as cycle with Auctioneer or Removal/Face Damage with Malygos. As small removal it has only very little value in my opinion. A second copy would help vs Renolock to get the OTK combo faster. But since this is already a strongly favored MU I don't think it improves the deck in general to run a second copy. In other MUs it is often just a very low value card.
Mire Keeper is a great card especially when you can combine it early with innvervate or when you can play it right after Wild Growth. But vs Aggro it is in many situations even too slow to play it on curve (e.g. if you have to care about a Frothing Berserker) and in the later game it is a card you just don't want to draw twice in a row. That is the reason why I cut 1 copy of it for Mulch.
I also used to have 2 copies of AoW ( to counter aggro decks) , but in most games the aggro player just finds a way to deal with them ( at least in my games ) . And in my opinion the second moonfire gives you flexibility. But you are right, having 2 mire keepers is not ideal. I will definitely sub it for something else ... maybe a doomsayer ?
Are you currently playing 1 AoW 2 Moonfires and 2 Mire Keepers? Then is the question which card from my decklist do you not use beside 1 AoW? Normally I would suggest to use this card instead of the Mire Keeper.
Doomsayer can be great, when he costs the opponent some tempo. But both, Aggro Pirate and Shaman, have tools to counter even a coined Doomsayser. At the moment I would not suggest to play it. I'd rather play Emperor for Tempo vs Midrange Decks.
Thanks for the reply. I will also do what you suggested.
After discussing with nrataw (http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/736771-top-20-legend-aviana-kun-malygos-druid) I changed my mind about Doomsayer and gave it another try. Especially since Buccaneer is gone from most decks, a T2 Doomsayer now has again more impact and I can now recommend to play it.
