"Like the light unto the shadow"
Important:
Please notice that this deck runs TWO copies of Shadowform and that if you don't draw one of those conditions your Reno Jackson won't be active. That said, enjoy the deck and please vote if you like it. Much obliged, adventurers!
Mulligan:
Mulligan early game for Holy Smite, Shadow Word: Pain, Doomsayer, Huge Toad, Loot Hoarder, Museum Curator, Acolyte of Pain, Harvest Golem.
Against aggro you might also want to decide to keep Shadow Madness, especially if you're on the coin.
Tips:
You can decide if you want to keep Shadowform early in the game to activate Reno Jackson in case you draw him on time, but chances are you can stall the game to draw Shadowform and still get the necessary healing out. Shadowform is awesome in the later stages of the game so don't use it too early or the opponent will just push too much damage and you won't be able to recover.
If you're already in Shadowform, you can deal 5 dmg to something in one turn if you use your hero power first - dealing 2 dmg, then casting the 2nd Shadowform and then proceeding to deal the next 3 dmg. Much like with Justicar (or any other card that changes your hero power).
Very strong deck if you know how to pilot it.
Recommended replacements:
You can replace Onyx Bishop with either Cabal Shadow Priest or Abomination or even Azure Drake depending on your opponents. If you're facing a lot of weapon classes you can always add Harrison Jones.
You can replace Earthen Ring Farseer or Huge Toad with more value game cards like Acidic Swamp Ooze or Barnes.
I sometimes find that even Cairne Bloodhoof is a bit too slow, so I'd advise switching to Corrupted Healbot for better tempo.
Cards that are too slow (or too situational) for this deck but might see fit for some players are:
- Northshire Cleric
- Forbidden Shaping
- Twilight Summoner
- Circle of Healing
- Silence
- Thoughtsteal
- Confessor Paletress
- Nexus-Champion Saraad
- Auchenai Soulpriest
- Wild Pyromancer (not enough spells)
- Shadow Word: Horror
Edit #1 (2016-10-10): Replaced Onyx Bishop with Azure Drake which is just insane in this deck as it adds a lot more synergy with spells plus Chillmaw and just makes the deck more consistant.
Fun deck. I've always tried to get a Shadowform deck to work, but this is probably the best I have played in the current meta.
Thanks.
Edit: I've made 2 changes that I feel make the deck more consistent.
Swapped Onyx Bishop for Azure Drake (like you recommend).
Swapped Loot Hoarder for Jeweled Scarab (some interesting card choices that help play on curve).
Greetings, Traveller
I actually really like your deck list, and am playing something similar myself. My question is this: what is your answer to extremely greedy decks? I had a situation last night vs. Reno-Malchezaar Warlock where I lost a joust five times to Skeleton Knight, and only lost when he Shadowflame-Sylvannas to steal my Cairne. I am running Elise, but I'm pretty sure Malchezaar just makes your matchup vs. aggro absolutely abysmal. Any other suggestions?
what about winrate and muligan bro?
Hello! Thanks for sharing this deck. Only a card i missing is Chillmaw. Also, what do you think about Emperor Thaurissan and Tournament Medic?
Hey, since i tryed a similar Deck myself i was really interested in the Deck. Im 4/2 so far @Rank 10. It´s definatly really fun to play and can beat almost all Decks if you get good draws. The only Games you lose are pretty much vs aggro if you draw Reno and Shadowform, so it´s a pretty good meta for the Deck after the nerfs. Thanks for sharing. Sadly it will be dead in the next Standart Circle.
