Hey guys! I've been always trying to "break the meta". Since the early beta days, the ladder was "populated" with what the community says it's top tier decks and their counters, the thing that we call "the meta". This is limiting the choices of anyone who wants to have some fun and climb a bit. So... I've made a purely FUN TO PLAY deck to climb the ladder this season.
The concept is really simple: Try to have an answer to everything while maintaining some tempo.
So... here we are, with the new addition of Reno Jackson I tried to abuse his mechanic. One will be wondering: What are the results so far? Well... it goes ok. I started from rank 15 yesterday, now I stand at rank 10 with ~55% win rate. That's not impressive, not at all. Was is the catch then? It is all about seeing your opponent wondering in confusion after he gets his Ancient of War annihilated by The Black Knight (wtf? is this 2014 again??) or seeing the face hunters insta-concede after a 28 heal Reno Jackson, trust me, it happens really often. This is the deck that brought fun back at the inn table. All hail the Answer Rogue.
PS. I've hit legend 3-4 times in the past, the point of the deck is not to carry you to rank 1 legend, if that is your goal, you should try another deck :)
PS 2 If there are enough upovotes and comments, I will update a post with an in-depth guide, mulligan tips and match-up analysis.
Cheers!
Edit#1: Indeed, Cairne Bloodhoof has been left out of the meta for a reason, I swapped it for Sylvanas Windrunner, for obvious reasons. I did some more little changes which you can see on the right. Thanks for the comments and the suggestions.
Edit#2: Some more changes -The Black Knight -Sprint -Sen'jin Shieldmasta +Shadowstep for double Reno Jackson as some of you suggested, +Zombie Chow for some early game +Earthen Ring Farseer for an early body and a bit of heal since Reno is not always here :(
You should run Gang Up
Kappa
I am having a lot of fun and success with this deck. I took out Blood Knight and added Mind Control Tech. Keep on doing what you're doin. Great deck
omfg this dack is awefull played for some hours and not one win DONT try this deck never gonna work
I have been facing this deck yesterday with DragonPriest. It was quite confusing at first, simply because he did not seem to have any duplicates. Beat him down to 9 life and he plays good old Reno Jackson. Ultimately, this move did only prolong his life but he did not stand a chance anyways. Is Reno Jackson really that much important to surrender the rest? I understand that this can be quite frustrating for Face Hunters, but combo-druids, dragon-priests, OTK-Priests, Combo-Druids and Handlocks should not really experience problems against this deck, right?
Exactly my friend,Reno Jackson dont work properly for Rogue (at least not so far) and Rogue is dead, sad but true.
RIP Aggro Rogue
RIP Oil Rogue
let's wait and see what the miracle will be done by lady Blizzard to resurrect the Rogue, maybe Mill is the last chance? Let's see...
lol Oil rogue is very much alive, most just have no idea how to play it since they're used to brainless smorc decks.
Yeah i BabyRage a bit because rogue CANT DO IT with Reno Jackson =(
Hallelujah to that, most people dont understand the rogue class enough they just face bash & wonder why they lose.
Wow. This is probably the worst deck thatI've tried since I started playing ....
What do you think of my more budget version of your deck?
It doesn't have Reno Jackson in it. That's the whole point of the deck. To have only one type of a card in the deck so that Reno heals you... What you did has nothing to do with that.
Only particular card I would put in this deck is North Sea Kraken. Just to see the salt when the opponent's monster gets killed by it and its a big beater.
Tried a variant of this with shadow step and a youthful brew master. 20 Point Reno heals are worth all the trouble. Even better when they are followed by a shadow step. They know another one is coming......TY for the deck. Reno lock was failing miserably.
Hi Rockntrollz, I really liked your deck and If you like here are few suggestions that might optimize this deck. Would love your input
+ Dark Iron Skulker - Spectral Knight ( while spectral knight is amazing, I think dark Iron is one of the best rogue cards and helps you clear the board as we have sacrificed a blade furry)
+ Harrison - Sabotage ( This is kinda 50-50, but I personally love harrison)
+ Haunted Creeper - Kezan Mystic ( This decks has no solid two drop and haunted creeper is sticky enough to help the early game)
+ Owl - Loot Hoarder ( silence over the single card draw as this deck is pretty slow)
+ Zombie Chow - Black Knight ( Lacking early game to be useful)
+ This is our town scrub - Sprint ( without prep I think Sprint is too clunky to use on its own, very rarely do rogues get to use 7 mana sprints and end up winning the game)
What do you think man?. Any of them can be useful. Cheers on the deck!
Hey Man,
I really appreciate your response. I made about 6-7 changes and am currently rank 2 with this deck from rank 5. If i hit legend, i will credit you with the inspiration!!.
I am actually in NA. I dropped down to rank 3 again. Damn its really hard to beat secret pally which is roughly 30-40% of my game down here. The changes I made was to purely counter the aggro that is rampant. I added acidic swamp ooze, owl, haunted creeper, deathlord, eydis darkbane( 3/4 Taunt lol ) refreshment vendor, antique healbot, Kel thuzad( I dont have ysera sadly.) Basically i added a bunch of heals and early game to help me transition to mid late game. I am missing Sabotage and Ysera. Two cards I should probably add.
This deck has potential, just have to make changes based on our ladder rank. I am still learning the mulligan aspect of this deck which will take about 40-50 games at least.
I kinda sucks against dragon priest if you don't mulligan good. And against demon warlock....
If your definition of fun is making games last twice as long and humiliating your opponent if you win, this is a hell of a lot of fun xD
Cairne gives you anything but tempo. He does nothing when played and is at first undervalued: 4/5 for 6 mana is ass. You play Cairne for card advantage.
