Hey guys Sigma here, 5-time legend, Deck Architect and guide writer from Serbia! Today I present to you my idea of the Beast Druid in LoE! I have been trying to make Beast Druid work for some time now, and I believe with the introduction of some new awesome beasts it can be made true in the expansion and even become a competetive deck!
As LoE hasn't been released yet, I can't really provide you with any kind of a guide, but as the expansion wings that we need come out, I will start working on this deck as soon as possible. After that I will change this deck to probably something like "midrange" as it seems like it most to me.
The deck would basically be in some way a midrange deck that is working on putting out some kind of tempo from the second turn on. The Haunted Creeper is supposed to give you solid early presence and Jeweled Scarab should be giving you a solid card, and with the high chances of it giving you a 3 mana cost minion, which is, with the help of your Mounted Raptors supposed to help you establish board control, with an occasional Innervate here and there hopefully. On turn 4, Tomb Spider should have you covered and maybe even give you a powerful Beast that you can maybe even play on the next turn like a Stranglethorn Tiger or another Savage Combatant or even Papa Cenarius, the almighty Malorne. You can also get another Mounted Raptor from it or a Jungle Moonkin. Druid of the Claw and the Wildwalker are supposed to enforce your board and help you trade your way into late game. In the late game, there is the almighty and infamous Force of Nature + Savage Roar combo, or simply Dr. Boom/Knight of the Wild. With the help of a lot of minions, and tokens from Haunted Creeper, there is also an opening of dealing a shitload of damage with a single Savage Roar early on.
Special thanks to Svanic, who chipped in opinion about the end product of the Theorycraft!
If you would like to see a bit more details and a guide, and if you like the deck, make sure you click on that upvote!
I would love any kind of feedback from you guys or your ideas so that we can make another different version of druid together! The first druid I created that went out of the druid norms was my Silence Druid, which will also get a buff this adventure with the introduction of the Eerie Statue! I don't think these changes will come even remotely to how much this deck has. Let me explain change by change.
- Haunted Creeper + Druid of the Saber → Creepers are extremely good as they also spawn two 1/1s after they die, which will greatly help you with keeping board control against aggro, while the druids of the saber ARE beasts, but they still won't really give you any board control, and are very easy to kill from a Shielded Minibot for example. I would probably even play a River Crocolisk before Druids of the Saber. PLUS, it gives you tokens for 6 damage from them with the Savage Roar.
- Dr. Boom + Malorne → This one I like, to some point. I would probably just put something like Ragnaros the Firelord or even a Stranglethorn Tiger. But I don't have Malorne, so I might be wrong here.
- Shade of Naxxramas + Tomb Spider → This one I can't really say anything about yet as we still don't know how good the Tomb Spider really is, who knows, it might even be a better minion then the Shade.
- Loatheb + Stampeding Kodo → This is something I have come to realise, and that Kodo just doesn't pay off. It's a solid control card, yeah, but just too slow and might even get stuck in your hand. Better have Sylvanas Windrunner if you have her.
- Druid of the Fang + 2nd Wildwalker → I don't think two Wildwalkers will be neccesary, as we have pretty stern minions already and something even like a Piloted Shredder would do a better job I think. Druid of the Fang will be amazing, trust me on this one.
With all of that being said, we still have to try out the deck when the cards come out to say for sure.
Thanks Sjaak! We will see how will it go on with the discover cards, but I am very hyped about it!
They're really pushing for Beast Druid to be relevant. Love the addition of Mounted Raptor and Tomb Spider. Nice deck! :D
Thank you so much! I am happy you like it :)
Noticed a wrong assumption in your explanation. Discover only presents cards that your class already has access to. In the case of Tomb Spider, that means a neutral beast or Savage Combatant and Malorne. Savannah Highmane is not a possibility.
You sir are very correct. I realised my mistakes and corrected them!
Mounted Raptor and Jungle Moonkin, also. It's also worth knowing/remembering that class specific cards are 4x more likely to be discovered than neutrals.
I just mentioned some of them, not all, but I will correct that just to provide more insight.
on the flipside there are more neutral than class cards.
Yes, I'd forgotten about them. Though Jungle Moonkin isn't released until week 3 which is 2 weeks from now, so for now there would only be 3 class cards that Tomb Spider could discover.
It doesn't seem too good man. You've hurt you're early game and your card draw ability by incuding x2 combo.
What happenned to the x2 Ancient of Lore you had in the previous deck? I prefer that one over x2 combo or maybe take out the Knight of the wild. As a tempo play he's okay (never been great for me at least) but if you don't hve him in your hand he's kind of meh.
I like the addition of Raven Idol though.
I made some changes, I think you will like them. Thanks for the input though man, I really appreciate it!
Thank you for sharing these awesome decks!
Feels like there's not enough good pay off cards to make playing sub optimal cards worth it just because they're beasts.
I do feel it might be good, let's see.
-kodo -druid of the flame
+2 ancient of lore.... best druid card ever printed... you really do need it I reckon... you're midrange not aggro, so you'll need the card draw.
Made some changes, I think you will like them! Thanks for the input man, appreciate it!
Craft FoN, the card is just too good to miss out on.
i only do -Druid of the flame +shade, 4-1 in ranked (got rank 6 with it).
Made the change after some conseration, thanks for the input!
