"Because the other Control Paladin decks here were simply terrible, i decided to make a proper version of it that can actually compete even in high legend"

NOOB FRIENDLY DECK GUIDE :

Mulligan keep (always) : Knight of Anointment, Battle Vicar, Smothering Starfish, Shimmering Sunfish, Cariel Roame & Lightforged Cariel.

Lightforged Cariel is the most important card in your entire deck, if your opponent is playing a Control deck, please be careful on when you play this card as you don't want to get the weapon get destroyed by your opponent's Rustrot Viper the following turn!

WIN CONDITION :

Stay alive, play cards, clear boards, play Lightforged Cariel, buff Mr. Smite with your new hero power. You typically want to OTK your opponent.

Don't forget that the 0 mana 2x The Garden's Grace can prove very useful in late game in terms of trying to win the game by playing Mr. Smite for the OTK so DO NOT WASTE THEM!

PROPER BOARD CLEARS & TECH PLAYS :

You do not have infinite board clear resources. Keep that in mind. For smaller board clears in earlier game; you can use combination of Wild Pyromancer and Holy Maki Roll to clear smaller boards.

For urgent large board clears when inevitable, use Equality into City Tax.

Do not forget that Smothering Starfish will also sometimes prove very useful against mill decks or Boar Priest. I also recommend saving it against Control Warrior for their turn 7 curve play, Nellie, the Great Tresher. It can also save you against quick aggro decks like Naga Demon Hunter or Mech Mage/Paladin.

Against Paladin, always keep one Rustrot Viper in your hand. It can also prove useful against Control Warrior to ruin their typical early game card draw potential.

Q&A :

  1. Q: Why run double Rustrot Viper instead of second Flash of Light?
  2. Q: Why does this deck not run 2x Righteous Defense?
  3. Q: Why does this deck not run Ambassador Faelin?
  4. Q: What do i need Queen Aszhara for?
  5. Q: Isn't Ring of Courage pointless card in this deck, why not just run double Alliance Bannerman?

ANSWERS TO ALL THE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS :

  1. A: You don't need more heal than you already have if you pilot this deck optimally. Double Viper = Higher odds to have the card when you actually need it, also Tradeable mechanic is very useful for additional card draw for only 1 mana.
  2. A: Your other Righteous Defense would usually go waste, because majority of meta decks right now do not play high value big minions at all.
  3. A: Ambassador Faelin would just slow you down by filling your bottom deck with Colossals that will more likely rather make it harder to win than easier. Why would you want to slow yourself down by 3 turns in late game by risking having lower odds of getting the hero power buff on Mr. Smite if you can have guaranteed OTK faster than that? Don't be stupid!
  4. A: Queen Aszhara with the weapon reward is basically EZ 10 damage on your opponent's face for little mana with bunch of cheap spells. Also, it can give you a dice roll on a cheap Colossal minion. If you hit Crabatoa, i advise you to NOT play it unless you haven't yet played Lightforged Cariel as it will otherwise destroy your overpowered weapon and give your opponent an easy win. The 1 mana shuffle spells & draw 2 cards is also a viable option if you need quick card draw and want to try your luck. The Spell option to transform it into your most recent spell can be useful with Mr. Smite and The Garden's Grace.
  5. A: Ring of Courage is GREAT! It can buff your Blademaster Samuro for large board clears and also works as a great Tradeable card too! You can also use it against your opponent for the late game OTK turn with Mr. Smite to punish them for going too wide!

Have fun winning some easy games! Please give this deck a few games before trying any changes as you might not know how to pilot it perfectly instantly!
