Heroic Omnotron Defense System - Warlock's headshot deck

Consistency: Super (win rate is close to 100%)

Introduction:

Omnotron essentially is a softened down variation of Rend Blackhand. I guess it still can be somewhat challenging for people without extensive deckbuilding experience. But if you know, what you are doing, then this boss should not cause you much trouble. Not with THIS deck anyway.

Because some of "trons" buff spells, people usually use burn mages or various "miracle" lists, which quickly circle through the entire deck with help of Electron and Gadgetzan Auctioneer. Another fun thing you can do is to use unlimited Unstable Evolution together with some cheap tokens and spell based token generators like Call in the Finishers, Voltaic Burst and Feral Spirit. These decks certainly work, if you draw right cards in time, but let's try something different.

I decided to try a variation of my Rend's deck, since a control deck, which can beat Rend has REALLY easy time with Omnotron. Why? Well, let's see...

Omnotron vs Rend:

As I said Omnotron is somewhat similar to Rend, but there are few differences. And almost all these differences are not in Omnotron's favor.

Its hero power always produces a single minion. It has almost no spells, so it can't do face burst and can't capitalize on spell buffs. Omnotron's deck has very weak minions compared to Rend's and has NO draw at all. In fact, its deck is almost innkeeper's level of garbage.

Its only challenging minions are Magmatrons, so control decks need to find a way to deal with them. And guess what this deck is doing best? Yep, it has nine(!!!) cards, that kill Magmatrons on the spot.

Warlock vs Mage:

Both Warlocks and Mages have some tools for dealing with high health minions. Mages have Polymorph, Flame Lance, also Forbidden Flame and Pyroblast as late game options. Warlock's tools are Blastcrystal Potion, Siphon Soul, Twisting Nether, DOOM!, Corrupting Mist AI exploit.

However, the reason, why I like Warlocks more is their hero power. Control decks need to get answers in time, so steady consistent draw means a lot. Mage's draw options are not really that great at least compared to Warlock's Life Tap. You can't put Aluneth into a control deck, since it will fatigue you, and you probably will not draw it in time anyway.

General strategy:

The idea behind this deck is pretty straightforward. In the early game you just defend and kill Omnotron's stuff with your endless AoE and removals.

Eventually he will run out of resources, so you will have to deal with his hero power and one additional card at most every turn. Your Arcane Giants will be quite cheap at that point, so you will be able to take over the board. This boss has no removals and no AoE, so things will become simple after this.

Unlike Rend, Omnotron also has no face damage. In fact, the only thing it has, that can hurt you right away is Arcane Missiles. It means, that being low on health is not that dangerous for you, as long as you control the board.

Deck composition:

As I said, the primary focus of this deck is removals. It has tons of them. Blastcrystal Potion, Siphon Soul, Twisting Nether, Big Game Hunter. And, of course, E.M.P. Operative - these gals are just amazing against this boss.

There are also a lot of strong healing and AoE options. Demonwrath is a super good turn 3 move, which always clears the board. There are also some taunts to combo with Corrupting Mist for a safe board clear.

Bloodreaver Gul'dan and Arcane Giants are strong late game finishers.

I know, that it is not the cheapest deck out there. Comparing to some miracle decks it is actually quite expensive, but most of this stuff can be used in PvP.

Mulligan:

Demonwrath is so powerful turn 3 move, that you can simply mulligan for it and forget about everything else. But I personally suggest to keep few other things, like Vulgar Homunculus, Second-Rate Bruiser and arguably Mistress of Mixtures.

Be careful about Hellfire. It is an ok spell, but some enemy creatures will not die to it, so playing it early may be somewhat dangerous, if you don't have a good healing ready.

Tactic tips:

Corrupting Mist is MUCH better for PvE, than for PvP, because AI won't attack your corrupted taunts, no matter how strong its board is. So combo it with your taunt (there are several options in this deck) for a safe board reset.

If you have a choice between minion-based and spell-based removal, right decision actually matters. You don't want to lose your creatures to your own AoE, so preserving them for the late game pressure is good. But if there is a risk of falling behind during early game, then certainly use BGH and operatives right away to maintain some board presence. There is no universal advise, judge according to your current hand and the board.

Consistency notes:

This deck is very consistent. I lost just a single game out of 10.

I believe, there are also some very strong miracle decks, which basically always win, if you draw Gadgetzan Auctioneer in time, so I can't claim, that this deck is better than anything else. But it is very unusual list for this boss, so it provides some diversity. It is not that cheap, but if you tried my Rend's deck, then you probably already have most of these cards (except E.M.P. Operative, maybe).

Blacktiger's Blackrock Mountain deck collection:

Provided win rates are approximate. They are based on my tests and so partially depend on how lucky/unlucky I was during my testing. Also keep in mind, that you need a bit of experience with a deck to use it to its full potential. So first attempts usually have lower win rates, than suggested in this list.
