Hello, short writeup on my version of the control/rinlock, hit legend today with it.

Its similar to a basic controllock, but Voodoo Doll and Lord Godfrey add a lot more power to what can be dealt with, while Master Oakheart allows you to "kind of" play a N'Zoth, the Corruptor.

Mulligan and matchups:  You always keep Kobold Librarian, since he is a turn 1 play which replaces itself. Another basic rule: if you play against something that is not aggro, always kill your own rin unless you purposefully want to bait silence and/or have a backup from stonehill.

  • Shaman:  Your worst nightmare, 25:75; Mulligan everything that is not Rin, the First Disciple, Dark Pact or Stonehill Defender. Depending on what you have, you can pretend to be a midrange deck and try to go face, or kill rin on turn 7 or 6 with the coin and turbo azari. Once they play Shudderwock, concede unless you have lethal.
  • Warrior: A "counter" matchup, but doable 45:55 They usually play Baku quest, so you have to try and keep his armor down while playing along his tempo. For that reason you keep Possessed Lackey, Doomsayer and any of your 5 drops. Try to Doomsayer to set up your next tempoplay, Voodoo Doll his strong taunts and Spellbreaker his Tar Creepers. Once you are in the lategame, make sure to always have 3-4 minions with either a Voidlord or live Possessed Lackey up. Once they run out of removal or you can play azari with 20 or more life left, you win. There also is some form of rushwarrior, but they are worse spiteful druids so look there for a guide.
  • Priest: This depends on what archetype he is playing, but spiteful is the most popular, so mulligan for him. Keep Doomsayer, Voodoo Doll, Possessed Lackey, Dark Pact.
  1. If you play against spiteful you want to limit him as much as possible, set up plays with Doomsayer and have a Voodoo Doll and an activator ready for turn 6 and onward. Make sure to kill you Voidlord before turn 8 and after that never play 1. Pretend you are a control warrior, keep the board clean and play midrange threats. You win upon resolving azari, but it will take a while for him to run out of threats. 70:30 your way if you play it correctly.
  2.  If it is combo or control, buckle in for a long one. Don't let him draw, keep your life above 24 if possible, and save all the heal you can get for post Alexstrasza. Count his damage, while assuming he has 2 Mind Blasts in his hand. Once you resolve azari with enough life left, you win. Otherwise it goes to fatigue (since he draws more). 55:45 if played correctly, but exhausting as all hell.
  • Paladin: the "king of the meta" and your best matchups, on average 65:35. There are 3 variants, but they all do the same thing, so ill just cover the differences in clearing vs playing taunts.  Keep Dark Pact unless you have no aoe or early plays Doomsayer, DefileStonehill Defender, Hellfire, Possessed Lackey and Lord Godfrey if you have some early plays. Paladin wants to summon a lot of minions and buff them to hit you in the face with. So what you want to do is make sure you have stuff in the way or deny their buffs with aoe. Against odd pala, you want to clear the earliest on turn 4 to deny Level Up!, against even you clear when they have 3 or more dudes on the board or a Call to Arms just happened. Against regular aggro you want to react to what they have depending on your hand. If you have excess aoe spend it, otherwise just taunt up to lure more things into your aoes and force weaker turns. If he plays slow, just pretend you are a midrange deck and play your taunts into him, since without trade initiative, paladins are really weak. The match ends on Bloodreaver Gul'dan summoning a full/half full board.
  • Warlock: since most players play cubes, mulligan for them. Keep Doomsayer if going second, Voodoo Doll, Possessed Lackey, Harrison Jones, Corrosive Sludge unless you have Harrison and vice/versa.
  1. Against cubelock you are the defender, he is the agressor. He wins by summoning threats aka Mountain Giant or Doomguard and duplicating them with Carnivorous Cube. You win if you can prevent him from doing that. Voodoo Doll is key to remove Doomguard the moment he comes out of the lackey, or get rid of his early giant. If he has Skull of the Man'ari you have to remove it immediately, otherwise a doomcube might eat you. Let him do the clearing, he is the one who needs to kill you, since you have more value with rin. I would rate the matchup 60:40 in your favor, but is is completely draw dependant, and any mistake will cost you.
  2. In the mirror, you basically play what i like to call the "rin-dance". Since you both have very defensive setups, whomever is allowed to resolve azari first usually wins. Since that is the case, try to huddle up behind a Voidlord and start sealing asap. If your opponent has rin first, try whatever you can to pressure him, summon the biggest boards you can muster, and deny him seals as much as you can. If so, you might be able to threaten lethal even if he has azari in hand. 50:50, or 55:45 for you if he does not have Stonehill Defenders
  3. If you ever encounter a zoo player with this list, tell him your condolences. 80:20 matchup.
  1. Minionmage: 55:45 Similar to a spiteful matchup, but they have a lot more gas than most spiteful decks, so you usually have to resolve rin. This is a hard matchup to play, since you have to balance between tempo and tapping, and without a rin you will eventually run out. Try to use your Voodoo Dolls for tempoplays, get in a seal whenever you can, and you will get there. Special mention: silence Pyros if you can.
  2. Facemage: 60:40 Secretmage but without the consistent secret package which is wild now. Save Doomsayer for Explosive Runes unless they play a Mana Wyrm, taunt in his face and heal up. If you destroy his Aluneth and reach deathknight, you win.
  3. Control: 70:30 Resolve rin, but keep their Pyroblasts they run nowadays in mind.
  • Druid: There are 2 druid lists running currently, spiteful and Hadronox. Mulligan for spiteful, since the hadronox matchup is similar to wockshaman, almost impossible. Mulligans like spiteful priest.
  1. Spiteful Druid: You play it like spiteful priests, but feel free to keep your Voidlords around since at worst he can silence them. You need to resolve rin at some point, unless he can't resolve Ultimate Infestation then he just runs out of gas. 65:35
  2. Hadronox druid: Basically infinite N'Zoth, the Corruptors (okay, its "only" 7, but you won't survive 4). Play like it was a shudderwock shaman, you are the agressor. Unless you burn Hadronox or at least 1 Witching Hour with Azari, you can concede. 25:75

Alright, thats about all I learned on my 3 day climb with this deck, if you have questions or suggestions, feel free to post them. Thank you for your time.
