I think the anti-Reno synergy here is real.
They promote the Reno type decks to Lock/Priest/Mage and then give us this as a tech card against it.
This will work well in the Grimy goons decks too as it'll get buffed for you but go into their deck as a 1/1 again.
I think this card is sneaky ingenious.
you shouldn't compare this to Beneath the Grounds. That card instantly draws a card when drawn, this actually denies a draw.
While I won't disagree that Beneath the Grounds is a "better" card, the two aren't really comparable. You want your opponent to draw a fair amount of cards so you guarantee those Nerubians with a BtG deck, but if you are running the Weasel you likely have just thrown it in as a 1 drop to throw out on turn 1, and hope your opponent happens to draw the Weasel instead of their Lightning Storm or Thing from Below. In other words, it goes in a deck where you want your opponent to draw as little as possible and even potentially forfeit a draw, which is a HUGE deal against a lot of decks. Take zoo for example. You get down to the last turn, you have them dead to steady shot next turn if they tap, but they have to tap to look for their Power Overwhelming lethal out. They tap, and out pops the weasel.
paladins have buffs minions in hand mechanic. so if you force draw them out with the new divine favor alternative, you could possible make those 1/1 1 cost weasels, a slightly bigger version.
so drawing them, with the potential to bump their stats up and to cheaply put them on board, and enemy kills them and floods their deck with junk draws isn't such a bad thing.
eboladin deck sounds about right :X
I believe Reytox was joking. Rogue is the new Priest now.
P.S. Ain't nothing gonna top Shadow Rager
infinite game incoming
Or your opponent could just not play it
That's actually a perfectly valid question. For example, Malorne also specifies "This minion", so if I remember correctly, Baron Rivendare will only shuffle one copy into your deck. I don't know if Getaway Kodo will trigger first or second, but I think (don't quote me) that either you jack it from your opponent's deck or your opponent jacks it from your hand.
OH MY GOD.
this is by far the coolest card in the set. For once theres AMAZING 10/10 artwork for a card that fits the art and flavor PERFECTLY. Imagine the look on your opponent's face when they top deck the weasel when they need their burn and you lethal them the next turn! To the people that think this card is "unplayable", yeah it's not the best, but Excavated Evil sees a lot of play and the fact that you shuffle it into their deck is actually a GOOD thing because it punishes them for playing strats that involve drawing a lot of cards to get to their answers/threats. And they'll probably end up playing it so you'll get it back too.
They will come back for you!
Was actually planning to do a similar strat in Wild when i saw the card with Baron, Nzoth, and Kel Thuzad. Echo is a nice touch though.
This + Getaway Kodo + Small-Time Recruits + Redemption shenanigans
I concede the fact, and upvote you based on having good points instead of just "NUH UH YOU'RE WRONG!"
Not sure if this card is good but A+ for creativity.
Nerf to Museum Curator. Not that it was OP or anything. I love the concept of this card!
Oh if only this was "shuffle two" - woulda totally opened up anti-Reno play (and since they are adding several more Reno-like cards)... missed opportunity!
