I'm not sure if it summons the copy with full health or copy with not
You also have to take into consideration that the Beast you copy will have all effects on it that the original has (Faceless Manipulator) and so deathrattles and buffs previously used make this card that much better. Sure copying a 3/2 sucks, but copying a 3/2 that summons a free 1 cost when it dies is a lot better making Mounted Raptor a decent target especially since you are only giving up 1/1 stats for a copy that gives +2/+1 compared to the stats of an average 6 mana minion. With buffs (which druids have a bunch of) it just gets better. I believe this card will be a staple in all Beast Druid decks, its a Faceless Manipulator that also drops a 5/5 for 1 more mana.
Druid has some sick beasts, but needs more beast synergy, so far, in Standard, the only Druid's beast synergy cards are Knight of the Wild (c'mon...), Mark of Y'Shaarj, Wildwalker and now Menagerie Warden.
I don't know if 6 cards with beast synergy is enough in a deck (I'm excluding x2 Knight of the Wild), really can't tell if beast Druid will be good or not, but this card alone already gives a pretty strong shot of being viable.
I know that's insane, but you are looking at the best combination, if you are talking about a non beast Druid, than I'll assume you are referring to token Druid, which is the most viable Druid deck atm.
Token Druid usually runs 2x Druid of the Claw, that's the only beast played in token Druid. You can also summon a Panther from Power of the Wild, but you generally save Power of the Wild to get lots of value giving your minions +1/ +1, and even if you summon the Panther, this card isn't so valuable.
this is better than some legendaries
:O
Broken in my opinion. You can play Druid of the Claw or Stranglethorn Tiger for 5 mana and next turn you duplicate it...
Stranglethorn Tiger and Druid of the Claw followed up by this will be one of the strongest turn 6 plays in standard. If beast druid can easily survive up until that point (it should be able to) then it will definitely be among the top decks in standard.
A great follow-up to Druid of the Claw.
Yeah, Blizzard wants Beast Druid to really be a thing, don't they.
Card art reminds me of the old star wars movie poster posing:
On turn 6 you could have an 5/5 body + a COPY of Malorne (in Wild) or The Beast (maximum stats in Standard, bad card) or Captured Jormungar (best big card in Standard). This is about as insane a is can get without help from cards from other classes (tfw getting King Krush with this card D:).
How the hell would you play Malorne or The Beast on turn 5? You realise this summons the same beast it copies, not a random beast, right?
Oh, I thought you can choose a beast from your hand... oops.
So finally this is the beast synergy card the deck was lacking....obviously Knight of the Wild is garbage (though a lot more plausible now that we have a beast 1-drop) and Druid of the Fang had to leave right before its time to shine (rip in pieces, never 4get)
Druid of the Claw,Mounted Raptor, anything buffed by Mark of Y'Shaarj (it says copy, so i assume buffs will stick).
In the end it really comes down to iff the meta allows for Druids to play on curve and have beasts stick until turn 6. If that works it almost feels like a mini Call of the Wild, in the sense that it's really hard to win against if you can't deal with it.
It even has counterplay in some regard so i feel like t's balanced enough and it can't get abused in other Druid deck archetypes
If this won't make beast druid viable, I don't know what will
I shall name you: Druid of the Balance
Summon a copy of it? If that includes existing buffs this could get interesting with the stealth beasts.
So I dunno what a Beast Druid looks like, really - but here's a thing that may work pretty well with this card?
Also... Super budget friendly.
