No what I mean is WHEN the effect takes place. The turn the Overload card is played or the turn after when the crystals become locked
Agreed. It gives shaman the tools it needs to gain a foothold early on.
Shaman based on troggs? Still better idea than murlocks, maybe overload actually become a thing.
Good anti-aggro card, too bad it always has to be OVERLOAD. Why is Blizzard so stubborn about this? God I hate overload, such a bad mechanic, screwing your curve with mostly reactionary card.
We already have card that grows with overload too, so not sure what Blizzards point is. Do they really want to push us into playing full overload decks? Because its definitely not fun.
Now Ancestral Knowledge just needs to be changed to draw 3 cards . This really really awesome for shamans, we really needed a reliable 1 drop that was not Zombie chow or rock biter. I can't wait to use this guy and finnally make a new type of shaman deck that does not include the basic haunted creepers, zombie chows, and nerubians....
Might be a thing... but everybody said this as well after the reveals of totem golem and tusk' tusk', and then ...
FINALLY!!
A second chance
-Fallen Hero
Will definitely need to try this one out.
makes early ferals significantly better
Looks great. Pairs well with an early Totem Golem as well. I can see this card replacing Zombie Chow in Shaman, if not even play 2 of these and dual Zombies.
Now all they have to do is change Lava Shock into: "Cost (1)less per locked Mana Crystal". Then Shaman would be of to a great start and finaly you would't have to struggle to keep your self in the game by putting scrap on the early board.
Let dreams be dreams right? :P
I knew a card like this'd happen. like finally :)
Well, Shaman has always struggled against aggro, so even without overloading this one can be useful. Coin+Feral Spirit on turn 2 could even be a legit play now.
This makes totem golem and feral spirit a lot more playable!

The Shaman Mana Wyrm
its really not. the only reason mana wyrm is good in mage is because they have sorcerer's apprentice and no overload to worry about.
Mana Wyrm is great even without apprentice, the reason its strong is because it comes down turn 1 often with no turn 1 from the opponent or a 2/1 it kills for free and then your follow up spells kill everything else your opponent plays allowing it to deal a ton of face damage. Possible this could do the same thing as many overload cards are burn but hard to say with overload having the weird effects on tempo that it does.
yes mana wyrm is great when it's played alone without apprentice during a game, but that's not what i meant. Apprentice is needed in the deck when constructing it for wyrm to merit a card spot, otherwise mages would just run zombie chow, hell the whole tempo mage deck wouldn't be a thing. What i meant was that shaman doesn't really have any ramp that is like apprentice (lava shock is the closest "ramp" they have) allowing you to see 4/3 or 5/3 mana wyrms. The point I was trying to make is that it's not a mana wyrm because shaman doesn't have the same level of support as mage does for the card. And sure you could argue that crackle and Lightning bolt are similar to cards like arcane blast and frostbolt, but overload is the problem.
