Initial Crafting Advice For Legendary Cards In The Boomsday Project
Now that we've had a few days of playing with the new Legendary cards brought to us by Boom Labs in The Boomsday Project, we've got some initial rankings to share on how well they're doing. You can use the information here to help decide whether or not you want to craft any of the new legendary cards, though we do think it's still smart to wait a couple of weeks from an expansion launch before making any big decisions.
Below you'll find our highlights of each tier, along with a description of what the different tiers mean. Full data can be found in our Hearthstone Legendary Cards Tier List & Crafting Guide thread found over on the card discussion forums. Updates will be made to that thread as things evolve.
It should also be noted we've got a special section just for ranking cards in Wild.
Tier 1 - Staples
We're not confident in giving any cards the Tier 1 badge yet because these are considered as must-have cards. Anything in this bracket is typically used in either a certain archetype that is crushing everything else or is used across a variety of high-level decks. Great examples of cards in this tier from Witchwood were Baku the Mooneater and Genn Greymane which were used in many different classes to great success.
As the meta is still evolving heavily, anything we suggest here could become outdated quickly. We've got a good idea what belongs here after a couple of weeks.
Tier 2 - Tech
These are usually cards that although not necessarily must-crafts, they're going to help you out with a particular archetype that is seeing success.
Tier 3 - Playable
We're seeing these cards working in decks and although they may not be at the absolute top right now, it could go both ways. At the very least they're usually fun additions to the game.
Tier 4 - Niche
If you've got them, it may be worth hanging onto because they're at least seeing some play. Disenchanting these cards may result in regret down the line.
Tier 5 - Trash
Dust em! It's really that easy.

Should I really dust Zerek, Master Cloner?
I don't use him for cloning really, mostly to bait out removal from my opponent. Really should change his name to Zerek, Master.....ah, you get the picture.
It depends on your collection, if you're f2p, if you're going to get more packs, how much priest cards you have, if you like priest, etc...
It could end up a strong card with the right kind of support.
The wisdom of these Hearthpwn posts are incredible...They realllllllllllllly...know everything...
He is very good, but actually right now I'm having trouble playing control warrior. Way too many OTK decks where I'm at and control warrior just doesn't have a win condition against it.
Zerek reminds me of Raza the Unchained; at first the card was basically just extra value without any way to integrate it into a strong value engine, which eventually happened with the Anduin DK. Extra Arms was a decent attempt to give Zerek viability but it's too expensive; if they release cheaper buff cards, if you have even 1 Radiant Elemental you could do some nutty stuff.
Zilliax is Tier One, for this expansion.
A Legendary Mech, with the new-to-this-Expansion ability type, Magnetic, that is not class-specific? Absolutely Tier One, look at how well it interacts with Kangor's Endless Army, which is the new bane of Odd-Paladin's. (Kangor's Endless Army feels Tier One, b.t.w.) I don't like to label class-cards as Tier One, I feel this pigeonholes the player into a One-Trick-Pony archetype, such as recommending Dr. Boom, Mad Genius as Tier One, because of it's Expansion-specific empowerment, however... Kangor's and Dr. Boom feel like two Tier One choices, to me-- well, okay, I would rank Dr. Boom, Mad Genius Tier Two, because of it's inflexibility, but, Kangor's Endless Army is broken, because of the Paladin mech eggs.
mmmmh, i really don't see how a worse mirror entity is better than 3 cards that at least add something unique (potentially) to the game.
Agree, really made me question this article/list. I have seen Habinger Celestia maybe once, can’t really remember seeing it all, but maybe someone had it i their deck and it didn’t get played?
Ive seen the majority of the other cards, albeit minimally, but at least they have seen play.
Oh man I really dislike this xpack, cya guys in the next one! (probably in a few weeks tho lol)
Before saying “Dust them, it’s really that easy” people should and likely do understand that these cards just came out, and nobody knows any future interactions with future set(s). They are going to be around for two years in standard, so while some may not be good now, next Xpac they could be useable or even OP.
For commons or rare cards, sure the dust isn’t largely significant. Dusting a Legendary only to recraft later is a bit more costly on the dust side. Just remember that. Plus, it hasn’t even been a week. Odds are one of the cards being called “Trash” hasn’t found its use as of yet. People are still playing and experimenting.
So a 4 mana Mirror Entity without the "secret" part is better than Zerek's Cloning Gallery and Zerek, Master Cloner ? literally, putting Harbinger Celestia in your deck decreases your winrate vs any deck that isn't spellhunter/big priest. how did it get tier 4?
the only reason to keep her is to not get it again from a pack...
Still too early to make the call in my opinion, but it shocks me to no end that Celestia didn't end up in Trash tier.
Yeah, this article and list seems to be lacking with regard to a lot of information relative the entire set/grouping of Legendary cards.

Harbinger Celestia is a 4 mana Mirror Entity, except your opponent knows you just played Mirror Entity
Exactly. If someone drops something like a firefly, then it's a 4 mana 1/2.
It would've been way cooler if the ability carried over, as in, the card keeps changing. THIS would've made the card great, as you can just keep it in stealth, and wait till they play something good.
Harbinger Celestia is terrible. Period.
I crafted Zilliax and the Soularium, got Kangor's in pack.
My advice would be craft whatever you want to have fun with if you can afford it though.
I took the plunge and crafted stuff like augmented elekk and necrium vial and they are awesome at fun, and fun is the name of the game.
