Hearthstone be like, we increased the cost of one Warrior card from (2) mana to (3) mana and in turn, deleted the class from the competitive scene.

As awful as these games were to watch (and they were), what makes me laugh is that the World Championship is going to be decided in the forthcoming K&C clown fiesta meta. I hope it turns out as awful as this expansion looks.

Un33d is the most known. And Dalesom is very known in the spanish community.

It's not the metagame what causes this. It's because all the tournaments after the Last Call was closed do not give HCT points. Just like finishing top100 until january is completely useless.

I could not find the swiss bracket quickly, but there has to be a lot more wellknown players present at a tournament with a $7500 first price, no?

Why is it a bad thing that most of these players aren't well known? Almost every HS tournament is a circlejerk of inviting the same popular Youtubers / streamers over and over again.

I'm glad they're inviting players because of their skill instead of number of YT subscribers for a change.

This was an open tournament with some of the actual best players there. The good players had a hard time winning because they'd get high rolled in enough matches. And no. None of these players are that well known. Don't fool yourself.

There is a big tournament in china now which hosts some of the well known players (Pavel, Purple and many others)

it's named Gold Club World Championship, you can watch this in Twich, see links in Pavel_hs twitter account.

Yes, that is fine, but with a top 16 like that, I have to ask questions about the metagame and the state of HS as an e-sport as well. It should be possible to make a name for yourself through grinding through big brackets, but it is almost impossible in this game... for a reason!

And the fact, that plebs doesn´t know theese players doesn´t mean that they are not good. Some of them have a full time job and that doesn´t make them less good or intelligent, only less known because they don´t have time to stream.

For example Toniramis is MTG Pro. Zumpp playing in this and last DH was the most impresive one to watch for sure. All Czech guys are very experienced with international tournament experience. Vanik is top8 ELO on Strivewire...And ELO says a lot more about skill than viewer numbers guys...

I eventually found a good results page, but the fact that the vast majority of the top 16 has no resume at all has to worry you at least some! Of course they played well, but when it is next to impossible to be a consistant top performer, it tells me something very scary about what is important in tournaments...
