Every card has some situational use, so in that sense every card is somewhat playable (there's literally no dead cards in Hearthstone). Therefore, my definition of "being playable" boils down to whether or not anyone would want to include it in their deck. If it's not good enough to find place in any constructed deck, then it's unplayable in my book (of course arena is a different story). Simple as that.

"this part of the card is already playable on it's own, so if you combine it with this other part it's obviously a great deal!" That kind of thing.

And that's exactly the thing I disagree with, as I don't believe that 1 mana spell: "Deal 2 damage to a minion" is even close to being playable in any deck, without being attached to something else. Yes, you can play this card ignoring its bonus effect sometimes, but you would never put it into your deck without this effect in the first place. So ye, that's "unplayable" in my book.

As a whole I love this card! As vanilla "Deal 2 to a minion" for 1 mana it's trash.

True, it's not a perfect replacement, but we probably won't get any better in this expansion. Yet, we still have Drain Soul and Unstable Shadow Blast.

Did Priest deserve to be nerfed? No doubt, but was it done properly? I don't think so. They should have targeted his generation chains (by changing rules of generation in general and limiting amount of copies you can discover in one game... or something) but left his healing potential alone. Now aggro will just stomp on him.

    Thanks!

What you said is true, but at the same time you wouldn't put Arcane Breath into a deck without dragons, would you? :).

Same here, sometimes you'll have to play it as: deal 2 damage to a minion (no healing), but that's the exception, not the rule.

I have a question to people downvoting me. Would you ever put vanilla 1 mana spell: "deal 2 damage to a minion" into your deck? If so, why? It's not good enough to kill even some 1 drops...

Deal 2 damage to a minion for 1 mana isn't very good (probably wouldn't see any play), especially if we consider Holy Smite as a baseline for this kind of effect. 4 HP heal is what makes it good and condition doesn't seem to be too difficult to fulfill.

If Warlock has so many OP cards, why is he the worst class in standard right now?

Because opponent should just sit there and let you kill him?

Looks like a decent replacement for Soul Shear, as Questline Warlock probably won't use soul fragment package. Now we just need some good, cheap AoE removal to replace School Spirits and Warlock should be good to go.

Raise Dead was (still is?) an insane value card in ctrl priest decks. I don't understand why people consider it mostly a warlock card. Self-damage is much less problematic when you can heal yourself with half your deck/created cards and every single priest ctrl deck minion is a very relevant resurrect/value machine.

Making it 1 mana would be buff for Priest (because of Wandmaker), and increasing self-damage to like 4-5 would be too much for Warlock to handle (actually for Priest probably too, because he doesn't have that much healing, unless he's lucky with discovers).

Well I thought RAISE DEAD was a bigger issue..

It was, but it's the dual class card, designed mostly for Warlock. He doesn't use it right now (because aggro deals too much damage and Warlock can't heal effectively), but I bet it will be the staple of new Questline archetype and Handlock will probably use it too.

Well, it seems like they want Priest to join Useless Losers Club, run by Warlock...

So, that proves Team 5 wants Facestone, not a balanced game...

Priest is by no means my favorite class (I don't really like his passive playstyle to be honest) and I can understand the need for nerfs (because his generation chains can be annoying if he gets lucky with discovers), but why targeting his healing potential (aka the only thing that can stop aggro) instead of pure generation? Why no buffs to compensate the nerfs (like they did with First Day of School or Twin Slice)?

Renew should heal for 5 HP now (to make it Flash Heal on a stick) and Apotheosis should cost 2 mana with that statline.

By doing this, they served 1% of the player base (top legend, where Priest is really strong) and hurt the rest, where aggro dominates everything and now will be even stronger... Well done.

So healing for 24 (that was the threshold for Apotheosis + Samuro combo) wasn't fair, but dealing 20 off-board (unblockable) damage on top of twice as much board damage, is fair?
