Nihls posted a message on RoS: Day 2 Token DruidPosted in: RoS: Day 2 Token DruidMade a very similar list before release, played it a bunch after release and I gotta say it's a very strong deck, the only card that I ended up dropping is Crystalsong Portal, it's a dead card most of the games I played and the only times I used it it's not enough to come back and I still lose.
Testing one Swipe and Wardruid Loti right now to replace it. -

Darktan posted a message on RoS: Day 2 Token DruidPosted in: RoS: Day 2 Token DruidThis deck is absolutely amazing. You could start with nearly any sort of hand and have a game plan from turn 2 onwards (because you only really could drop squirrel girl on turn 1 anyways).
I think the key to making your opponent sweat bullets with this deck is to have a board that's 4-5 minions wide (Wispering Woods notwithstanding) and ignore the temptation to develop it any wider. If you're doing everything right, by the time it's 8 mana, your opponent would have spent at least 2-3 board wipes and it's time for The Forest's Aid, the first time. I've played against my fair share of token druids in the past and I'm not quite sure if I've ever seen something as demoralising as a board with 5 2/2s that I KNOW he could refill.
Knowing that I'm forcing my opponent to doubt his own decisions really makes my day.
P.S. I un-liked this deck so that I could like it again. =P

GHOSTDUSTER posted a message on Token druid, a cancer on a otherwise good expansionPosted in: General DiscussionThis is like the 4th thread of the same thing. Token Druid like bomb warrior has its weaknessss and can be techd against. There’s currently like 3 decks that do pretty well against it. Try playing it first. There’s tough decisions to make with it just like any other deck being played. As someone who plays every archetype I don’t understand why people say one is easier or requires less thought than another. It’s just different

Deck_Fiend posted a message on RoS: Day 2 Token DruidPosted in: RoS: Day 2 Token DruidI just ran up against a mage that kept putting massive taunts in my face. eventually he beat me though with this khadgar combo where he summoned like 4 of those paladins with divine shield and charge. was awesome actually. ha ha.
anyway, my question is that are we going to have problems with decks that keep throwing big taunts at us, maybe there is a poison minion or something to help out? I know if we manage to stack some buffs on a wide board, it probably won't always be a big deal, but I think maybe this kind of deck is a weakness for us? - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Bunnyhopper! By the time those last 5 packs came my way, after the last choose your champion, I had forgotten whom I had selected. Then I see that smarmy face. The memory has returned.
Now I know that either 1 or 5 packs are coming my way. There's no middle ground with Bunnyhopper. Either way, cheers bloke. Free packs are always appreciated.

Nice! Now I'll have 3 golden eggs! Time to magnetise!
Looks like a fun event.

You can't win them all. Warrior will likely have 4 (or 6 including Dyn-o-matic). Other classes may have a similar amount of options for dealing with your deck. Be aggressive and don't stress about what they might have. You have plenty of opportunities to bounce back.
Also, hunter is usually an easy win. If they've put a trap down, play Soul of the Forest before you attack. Deal with any Scavenging Hyena before you create a big board, as you should always expect an Unleash the Hounds to follow. Those are the two main cards you need to worry about with hunter. It's a combo, and their deck should only have 2 of each. Yes, I despise Dire Frenzy too.
Remember, this is a PvP game. It's impossible for everyone to win every game. It's highly unlikely anyone can, regardless of deck!

Nicely done! I hope your golden epic for the month is awesome! A golden Wispering Woods wouldn't be bad!

While a perfect hand can absolutely shred most opponents, an average hand can still dominate a game. When I first put it together, I was surprised at how many wins I managed, even with one or two The Forest's Aids in my opening hand and nothing to play until turn 3 or 4!

Glad you're loving it so much! It definitely lays down the pressure!
Board wipes suck. But us Token Druids can always bounce back! :D

Love your passion!
Retweeted it also. Keep up the good work.

Leeroy Jenkins is a great card. One of my favourites. He can help close a game when lethal is so close. So can Savage Roar. If you have 2 minions on the board, Savage Roar is just as good; 3 minions, and it's superior.
I would not recommend Leeroy Jenkins for this build. He also messes with Crystalsong Portal.

Crystalsong Portal, in my opinion, is core to running your best possible plays. The hand-fill is amazing, and, when things are going perfect, can allow a turn 3 coin into Wispering Woods for 7 wisps. I think a lot of people do not understand how ridiculous that can get. Also, usually 2 or 3 minions that you get from the portal are useful.
A lot of people seem to be dropping the card. While it has, very occasionally, not been helpful, there have been many games where Crystalsong Portal had been the difference between a win and a loss. Personally, I'd need a lot of good minions, and draw, to ever drop it from this deck.

I'm yet to run into a heavy taunt deck as of yet, but I can imagine the troubles. Worst I've had is Arch-Villain Rafaam, which can be taken down relatively easy with Savage Roar. Things get unpredictable after that! I've won and lost after such incidents.
I'd recommend just pumping and trading, it's not that hard to re-build your board. Don't be frightened to let your health slip a bit and hold Dreamway Guardians for the late game. A bit of pumping and they can bring you beyond lethal reach.
Also remember--despite how things felt with this on day 1 and 2--you can't win every game. The more common this deck becomes, the more people will utilise counters. We can still beat those decks, just need a little luck and persistence.
