Can feel myself getting much better with this deck. And loving  Leeroy Jenkins more and more. Was lingering around rank 15 for a while, then suddenly won a heap of games to rank 12. The silver hands and Leeroy were killing it! They even smashed up some on-turn (and me on the draw!) Death Knight plays like it was nothing else! I felt a bit reluctant dropping  Prince Liam for  Leeroy Jenkins, but man, results! Also, I only run the one  Divine Favor now. Even with the single copy, it's rarely something I want in hand.

Lost three in a row once I was on the verge of 11, so decided to take a break. Oh man, last game was a druid I got down to 1hp. They pumped their wisps twice and smashed me for the last of my health (which was still high, or so I thought). If only Leeroy showed up that game! Note to self: always obliterate minions, unless you can do lethal or have enough taunts!

Yeah, it works. I've done it myself and got a Nexus-Champion Saraad and a Blingtron 3000. Amusingly, both of these only became super playable after they rotated into wild (In Razakus priest and shenanigans involving breaking your Aluneth and Twig of the World Tree). Lucky me!

Cheers for letting me know. And congrats on the cracks! That Nexus Champion looks like it could be a bit of janky fun in Odd Pally!

I'm curious if this rule works for older sets that you have to buy from the Blizzard store? I enjoy a bit of wild, and might be a nice way to drop some cash for a guaranteed legendary. Even if a cruddy janky one popped out, could be a bit of fun to try and build around.

I'm guessing it does, as shneaky Blizz offers bundles of 2, 7, or 15 packs!

Try not to disenchant multiples either, last time they did a nerf I had multiple copies of the cards and disenchanted them all. Getting 40 dust instead of 5 for a common is worth it if you have patience and x10 is 400. So i could craft an epic just because I held on to my spaew commons.

Ah! Never thought of that! Well, I've got a deck I'm happy with now, so might put off dusting extras unless I'm desperate for it! Loving this event. I already have enough sitting there to craft a legendary. Trying my best to hold off until August!

As a newer player, I gambled a bit on this bundle. 1 golden legendary in my 2nd bundle. 4 more plain legends in my 6th. I almost didn't buy the sixth, but glad I did.

Was kind of weird though. Couldn't even hit singles of commons I wanted, but managed quite a few 3rd or 4th copy of junk rares and epics I'll never use.

You might have been hittin the "guaranteed legendary within the first 10 packs of each set" rule with the legendaries, if you are a new player, but in any case, cg :)

Already hit that. I was running on the 40 pack timer. I've been inconsistent, after the 10, with which packs I had been cracking. Still, luck did give me 2 classic legends. Even so, if I didn't grab that 6th bundle, I would have felt cheated. In the end, that was 120 individual packs! Haha!

It's definitely gambling. All the blokes I know who are into (real life: pokies/races) gambling will always tell you about their wins. It's scary when you find out how much they drop to hit those highs. I don't think $60 was too much for me. Provided the missus doesn't find out!

I'm also happy with my boosted collection. After I hit my 40 point timer for Kobolds, however, I'll be saving my gold for the next expansion.

From what you said, you're not missing just an epic or legendary, you're actually missing key commons and rares, no wonder you seem to be struggling.

Lost in the Jungle is pretty core, but I can understand how you feel. I opened 60+ Un'goro packs and didn't manage to get a single Tar Creeper and out of 80+ Frozen Throne, only one Play Dead. On the other hand, ~70 packs from Witchwood grabbed me all commons and rares in pairs... so yea, tough luck!

The 1-drops are important, definitely in pairs.

Liam can be usable in Odd Paladin. Frostwolf Warlord is fine too. If you have it, there's some variations who run Vicious Fledgling too if you have it.

Corridor Creeper is very good in the deck. It doesn't seem flashy or good at first glance, but when you drop one or even two for 0 cost and refill the board with dudes, specially with the threat of Level Up, that's too much for a lot of decks and that's when you gonna feel its power. Your dudes die a lot so it's really easy to get the discount. Mana cheating is king.

But Liam can be a decent replacement, as with Frostwolf or Vicious Fledgling.

I will be honest and say I didn't like this bundle at all. Pity timers are high (40 for legs and 10 for epics) so getting 2 packs of each set doesn't sound too great, unless you're planning on buy this bundle at least like 10 times. I always focused on one set until a legendary is hit. Always keep track of the number of packs you have opened from any given set. Write it down somewhere, also when you get epics.

You've been playing for roughly 3 months, uh? I've been for 6 now, so I'm not that distant from your experience.

It's really tough because you began just as a rotation hit, so you actually have to care about cards from 5 expansions at once (Un'goro, Frozen Throne, Kobolds, Classic and Witchwood). I began in mid-December, so I completely disregarded Gadgetzan, Old Gods and Karazhan, which were gonna rotate in April.

Focusing all the gold on the three main sets for 4 months (Un'goro, Frozen Throne and Kobolds), with some for Classic but not much, I was able to get a somewhat decent collection, and when the rotation hit, I got the pre-order of WW, and that put me on very good footing with the rest of the field because I spent 4 months building up the other sets and got a large chunk of the new set.

Crafted 3 top decks from the get go. 2 months later, I crafted another one and can craft 3 more but will hold for now. No aggressive disenchanting, no legendary disenchanting (even the crappy ones - those can always be disenchanted at rotation anyway).

I got lucky in the period I started, that's for sure, since I could completely ignore 3 entire sets, while you have 5 to catch on and will soon have 6.

But worry not, you'll get there, you got a top deck faster than I did and will eventually catch up.

Since you bought these bundles quite a few times already, then know that when the next expansion hit around mid-August, definitely prepare and focus on buying the pre-order. It's 70 packs for the price of 40, a really good deal and will almost certainly net you all the commons and rares in pairs plus a good amount of epics and legs and a good amount of dust from duplicates. With that, it means your gold stored can be used to catch up even more with the other sets (which is what I did - I had 4,5k gold during the new set release, and the pre-order allowed me to catchup even more with the other sets) or you could play Arena (I did this also and even made a profit, though that will only give you packs from the newest set).

I for one only get packs in large chunks, like 10 at least, and knowing I can get the exact amount necessary for the maximum pity timer of a set, if it screws me over. Getting 1 pack at a time or per day and hoping to open something good every single day, can be really frustrating and tilting. Which is why I didn't like this Get in Here bundle (unless, again, you buy it a decent amount of times... maybe).

Again, write it down your pity timers for each set. Sometimes you get unlucky and need to go to 30+ packs... and sometimes you are really lucky. I had only a ~25 pity timer for Kobolds, got 22 packs and opened 3 legendaries.

Anyway, good luck and prepare ahead!

EDIT: Oh yea, you should definitely check this place: https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-report-94/

I prefer to look here for decklists and they have a fantastic report each Thursday covering what's going on in Hearthstone. They do focus more on higher ranks and Legend, so keep that in mind, but that also means you may have more leeway in lower ranks.

Preorder seems the way to go. It's nice to have something to start with, but I don't like the idea of spending too much on a, supposedly, free game. I don't mind right now. I feel like I need to catch up, and this bundle feels right. Congrats, Blizzard, you cracked me!

Well, like a dirty gambler, I kept running Get in Here's until I smashed the pity timer. Other than the golden Hogger in the second batch, I got nothing more until the sixth. In that, I obtained a whopping 4 legendary cards in 10 decks. I was feeling pretty bad with buying so many, and I said no more after this one. Glad I scored a happy ending! I also scored a Corridor Creeper, so at least I can try him out. I'm over cracking Un'Goro, so I'll be crafting my pair of Lost in the Jungle cards!

Here's the legends I cracked: Nozdormu, Clutchmother Zavas, Blood Queen Lana'thel, and Hagatha.

Well, Hagatha seems amazing for the class, plus I don't have the Shaman DK. Not sure on the rest of my shaman cards, however I did crack a pair of Windshear Stormcallers. Unsure if that's more a gimicky card, but looks like it could be fun.

Clutchmother Zavas and Blood Queen Lana'thel both play on the discard game. I'm guessing this is too slow in the meta, but hey, it's new options for me to play with. I haven't played with Warlock all that much, but I do have a Glinda and Rin. Glinda into Clutchmother with a few discards could be quite silly, if a little difficult to pull off!

Not sure what to think of Nozdormu. It's another neutral classic legendary, so she'll be usable in anything anytime. I also obtained a respectable amount of dust. Stupid double rares. Lol. On 1280 now, so I assume it was close to 1k earnt. Going to finish crafting what I need for odd paladin (minus one creeper), then use my gold exclusively on Kobolds until I crack my next legend, then save it all for the new set.

Got a lot of options right now. I guess the moral of this story, is spending money makes everything open up to you? Or I could have just given up on cracking Un'Goro and crafted from the start. Don't tell me that now :P

Feeling pretty excited right now. I guess I'm allowed to after spending $63! (I'm Aussie, we pay more for everything)

Leeroy has been pretty much played regularly since the game began. Its hard to understand why you want to craft it, but pretty much everyone who dose is happy once they have him. A 6 damage rush minion that is a fantastic finisher and will fit in almost every aggressive or tempo deck.

Rouge is a class I didnt like at first, and its still not my favorite class, but it has had some strong decks. Once you learn the class and see how the class cards help you control the board while still doing a lot of damage to your opponent you may learn to like it a little more.

I played Leeroy early on in the deck building adventure modes (I loved those legendary buckets!) but didn't really like him then. That said, I don't think I understood his role too well back then. My mind was still very mid-range/late game focused: bigger is better!

I'll definitely look into rogue again if I craft Leeroy. Feeling like the longer this thread goes, the more indecisive I am about who I want. It's safe to say Jaina's not right for me. It'll either be Leeroy, DK Rexxar or hold until the next set. August is so close, yet so far! I actually thought I'd been playing for three months, it's actually less than two! I have, however, played during three different months! Lol. Started not long after the MtG Dominaria pre-release (April 22nd).

I also watched some of the Paladin Seoul day 3 championships on Twitch. Learnt a little bit, but also saw some dreadful plays. I've gone up against enough Hadronox decks to know that if you can kill it early, you kill it early. I think the 2nd or 3rd pally game had a Sunkeeper Tarim from Stonehill Defender. Played it, then went face instead of destroying Hadronox. That's a bad play! That said, I think a lot of these guys are under a bit of pressure, spend too long thinking of possible plays, then do some silly things.

One lesson I have learnt, is that if I want to play serious odd pally, I must craft Lost in the Jungle. I noticed they all used Corridor Creeper too, I'm just not convinced he's worth the dust. If I do crack him, I'll certainly add him to the deck. I also noticed no one uses Prince Liam. Is he just terrible? I've had my luck with him sway both ways. I always assumed he would give better options during the late game. That said, late game is probably not where odd pally wants to be!

Rexxar doesn’t cycle until next year?

But yeah rexxar would be a pretty SAFE craft, hes only gonna get better these next expansions, and he gives so much value. I recently wanted to craft him also so I did and he’s amazing

Cheers for that. Yeah, he seems so OP. Especially if you can keep tempo and hit him on turn 6.

My first Legendary was a Golden Hogger - ah, the memories :-)

Okay, here are some thoughts on dust management and dusting cards:

    - If you're a low budget player, and you're not specifically collecting golden cards, I would recommend dusting just about every golden card you come across. The only exceptions would be if it's a good card that you don't already have two copies of (for commons, rares and epics), or if it's a top tier legendary. The dust you get from goldens is really good compared to regular cards, and dusting goldens is the best way I know of to boost your collection other than spending a ton of money.

    - On that note, here's a link to Hearthpwn's legendary Tier list and crafting guide:

    https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/card-discussion/205920-legendary-tier-list-crafting-guide

...and yes, you'll notice that Hogger is in the very bottom tier. So yes, unless you're super attached to the big guy, I think you can safely disenchant him now. :-)

    - Now as far as spending dust - and again, I'm assuming you're not sinking a ton of money into the game - I would recommend being very conservative, especially when crafting legendaries. A lot of players (myself included) can tell you stories about a cool-looking legendary that they crafted on impulse and then regretted after the meta shifted on them. Generally, if you want to craft a legendary, the good choices are classic cards (as they'll be around forever), and neutral cards (as you can use them in multiple decks). Crafting a bunch of rares and epics is also an okay option if your collection is small - I would tend to favour epics as you'll likely unpack all the rares and commons you'll need eventually, so crafting them is kind of inefficient, but I also don't think crafting a rare or two is that big a deal. I would try to avoid crafting commons though.

    - And lastly, one thing to keep in mind (and again, something I wish I'd known as a new player), is that in the yearly cycle of expansions, the later ones tend to have more high-impact cards, so it's always a good idea to have some spare dust in your account as you head into a new expansion. The Witchwood, while it's a nice set with lots of interesting tools, will probably be the least powerful of the three expansions this year. So if you do dust Hogger, it might be worth holding onto some of that dust, as the next expansion will very likely have better crafting options.

Hope some of this helps, and good luck!

Cheers for the link, and the heads up on how the sets of threes work. Poor Hogger on the bottom. Was he once OP and nerfed? Or has his rarity always punched above his weight?

    Quote from NightCrawl3r >>

Rexxar and lich king still have about 10 months left of standard play left and by then, maybe you will consider wild as an option ;) 10 months is a long time to never play one of the top decks. I often hold off crafting cards that rotate soon but usually end up regretting it because I miss the opportunity to play those decks forever unless I craft them in wild, which is even more awkward.  That said, if you don't have the cards to support a deck for them to go in, there's no point in crafting them

Jaina is a good choice for a stand alone legendary. She doesn't need much support and can win games on her own. You can just stick her in your f2p mage if you are really poor.  Elementals not required; don't be fooled by her innate ability to give elementals lifesteal! The water elementals from her own hero power is already enough to make it worthwhile. In top decks, she is seen in elemental and control AKA big spell mage.  Elemental mage is cheap, but weaker than the other archetype. Control mage requires a bunch of epic board clears and removal but the other legendaries in the top end are optional

Hogger is pretty garbage. 4/4 just gets removed too easily outside of arena and he will never see competitive play. Personally I'd keep the golden copy because I'm a collector who can afford it but I would not recommend that to a f2p player

I do not know what the meta is like at rank 15 but higher up, the game is control dominant and not a friendly place for odd paladin. That said, there hasn't been a meta in HS history where Leeroy is not played in some deck. He is probably the safest craft in the entire game

Oh by the way, if you're having a hard time with the spell hunter vs odd paladin matchup make you are probably dealing with the traps wrong.  The correct play is usually to not attack into the traps if they play them. Keep developing board, even if it dies to explosive trap.  On turn 5 (or 4 if they have coin) use the board you built to trade into the wolves. If they did not play spellstone, stop and think, "was what they did that turn better than playing spellstone?". If not, they probably don't have it and you should trigger the traps now and re-develop, preferably with a board that lives through rexxar's battlecry.  You can also threaten leveling up with this play.  In general, if there is a trap up, always trade first and only go face when you have enough board to contest the 3 drop from wandering monster + whatever they can develop the following turn

Cheers so much for the advice on playing Odd Paladin better. It makes a lot of sense, I just never thought it through (or been on the opposite side of the battle). I'll keep that in mind next time. Build and pump. That said, I wish unidentified maul would give me something other than taunt all the time.

Not sure how far off making a good control mage deck I am. A lot of my early rares and epics belonged to mage. She might be more viable for me than Rexxar. I wish I could have both! Might end up with them with the current dust rewards + the lure of the Get in Here bundle!

Cheers for sharing your regret on not-crafting. 10 months is a long time. For some reason I thought it would change on 01/01/19. I don't want to miss out on that Death Knighting fun! I also do enjoy playing a bit of Wild. I find it is a little more forgiving at the lower ranks than standard (I've got LoE).

    Quote from Rumi >>

Not only is leeroy a valuable classic card and a safe craft, he's a likely eventual candidate for the hall of fame, in which case your investment will return.

That said, personally i wouldn't DE golden hogger or any other golden legendary.

What exactly is the process for cards moving to Hall of Fame? Is there an announcement period? Does it happen when new sets come out?

I don't really have much love for gold cards. As a new player I just want effective cards. Hogger doesn't fit that bill very well. I can't imagine that will change.

    Quote from KingSevault >>

    General rules:

-only craft cards from sets you won't be opening any more packs from, with the exception of classic packs

-dont craft for the first month after an expansion, wait to see whats actually good

-prioritize cards from the current year

-dont craft Commons or rares, since you'll open them naturally eventually. Try to avoid epics, if you can

Those are some really good rules to keep in mind. Will definitely guide my crafting in the future! Thanks heaps!

    Quote from Robdawg >>

Dust the hogger man, especially if your an f2p. He will sit there and collect dust and life will pass you by. You will never use him and this game is supposed to be fun, so craft something to make the game more fun for you.

I think it's going to happen! I'm not purely f2p, but I'm not sinking massive coin into the game either. Seems like the way to go. Guess I just need to figure out if I want to go DK Jaina or DK Rexxar!

After three months of play, I crafted my first legendary: Baku!

Mucked around with a few creations, but none quite had the power to contend with competitive decks full of epics and legends. Haven't really done much in the way of dusting and crafting before, but dusted a few of my rare/epic gold cards to craft a few of the cards you've listed (Divine Favor, Unidentified Maul, Level Up!) and it's really helped the deck perform.

I don't have the Creepers, Jenkins, and all of the commons (I feel really dirty crafting commons), but I've found Leper Gnome, Marsh Drake, and Frostwolf Warlord fill the gaps just right. I've also got a Prince Liam, he makes the mid/late game interesting!

Cheers for sharing this deck :)
