You can't really rely on that. What made patron strong is, not only the damage, but also the fact that by multiplying dwarfs, you would buff your berserk AND summon enough minions to get rid off the enemy's taunts. Your patrons are not going to have charge :) And since its a heavy mana cost combo, if the stars are not in line, you're kinda screwed.
But i see couple of people getting some success,.. so I'll give it a try :) still nice to try out new decks anyways.
I never had a problem with the Patron board flood. I had a problem with the empty-board-into-60-damage-to-face-through-all-of-your-taunts combo. I'm not a fan of OTK/extreme burst/combo decks, because they do not allow your opponent to respond. Losing against one makes you feel extra-salty, because you could be winning the entire game, and lose because your opponent just top-decked the last piece of the combo, and there was nothing you could have done about it.
That being said, I don't really mind this burst combo, mainly because it doesn't punish you for playing minions. Against Patron Warrior, each additional minion you have on the board ends up calculating out to about +3 extra damage to your face when the combo slams down.
It's dead because everything bellow T3 is dead, it's alive in same way malygos shaman is alive.
I am looking towards Axe Flinger more than worgen for new warrior archetype.
I've been thinking Bouncing Blade + Axe Flinger could be a thing for a while, but with a stronger combo for Warrior it was never really worth it.
Just wondering, how this combo works with Commanding Shout and empty board? O_o
The Bouncing Blade will stop when it is going to hit a minion with 1 hp and imunity when it has no other choise (playing it on empty board for example) the last "hit/nonhit" doesn't trigger the Flinger. Used to be limit of 80 bounces to prevent infinite loops, it can also end when stat on a minion overflows int32 limitations (buffing dmg of a minion like Gahz'rilla etc.) because overflow seems to have a special sequence break in HS, it used to evaporate the minion that overflows, now it seems like the minion just gets to negative value if it's attack (so we can assume they used signed int - which we could already guessed from the limit itself) and the minion apears to have 0 attack.
In my opinion, the patron deck is dead. The principal strategy od the deck was to clear the board and have a full board, or kill your oponent without any cards on the board (Deathbite with 1 durability helps :P) and your opponent could do nothing. Now, even if you have an entire board with patron, your opponent have an turn to respond. So, it is the most strong nerfs of the Blizzard, because it destroy 3 cards (Grim patron, Warsong commander and Frothing brezerker).
Ps: I thinked about the combo of Frothing brezerker and charge, but its may fail, because you only have one minion to damage! So you depend of your opponent to have an board to you get some value! #ITSNOTWORTHIT
Ps-2: I thinked about warsong commander on Face warrior, but its as bad as an raid leader. (If you want to try it, enjoy your 2/1 piggy with charge :P )
Why could you not keep frothing and use the charge card on it? What makes worgen better than frothing? I realize it has windfury, but the frothing combo can still work can't it? Just not as reliably as it did in combo with the old warsong... I am probably missing something so I am interested to hear the reasoning.

you mean like when you whirlwind for more than one patron (not all decks can deal with more than 1 patron) and you mean when you worgen someone to death right?

this is the old Math warrior for some reason it worked in asian servers, but it only worked there.
Asia was always so far behind the meta, they were already ahead of it.

a worgen combo took off kolento in the semifinals of the hearstone championship last year. it is a powerfull combo

I tried a very similar deck that was pretty much patron with Charge instead of warsong. It did not work.......at all.
