Dropped from rank 14-17 in less than 1 hour because of terrible RNG. Every single hand hasn't had a 1-3 drop, I can't seem to win with any type of deck (aggro, control, tempo, whatever). And in mirror matches I get steam rolled by my opponent's dream hand...FML
On today's saltiness. Had a quest for 5 wins with Mage or HUnter. Go with Mage. I used the old school Mech deck, which I hadn't deleted yet for some reason. Win 5 wins ok. Then decided to "check some of the new Mech Mage variations, maybe they are better". BOOM! r6 to r8 in an hour

I find myself watching Poker instead of Hearthstone on Twitch lately, because 1; It's exactly or even more skill based because there's less RNG with only one layer: Your draws vs. your opponent's draws, 2; There's more money on the line, 3; The best players come out on top more often because they play twenty+ rounds and finally 4; It's not essentially Paper, Rock, Scissors (deck selection) with two additional layers of RNG; Draws and on-card RNG.
... both are based on drawing the best cards and predicting the odds of winning with a given hand versus the hidden information that is your opponent's hand...
The problem I've got is the hidden information part -- making it a game of statistics rather than strategy: It's not "when he cast Blessing of Kings, I use my first Owl" -- it's "IF he's got Blessing of Kings, I'm screwed because I don't have my owl -- but hey, there's only a 50% chance he's got Blessing among his top 15"!
... and Arena is getting even worse... More and more infinitely scaling and multiplying threats that singlehandedly win the game if they're played before the opponent's infinitely scaling or multiplying threats... UNLESS you're a Mage who got Flamestrike... ...and screw over all the players who didn't get mage, paladin or great cards with 5+ health.
So fucking unlucky. I am 8hp playing grinder mage. Fucking frost nova doom sayer fucking boom bots hit me for 8. That's fucking 6% wtf. Fuck off. I had healbot 4 next turn 2

It's complete bull shit that if someone wants to risk using fel reaver, and I run their deck out it does not make them fatigue. How is that even fair?
Fel Reaver's text says "remove the top 3 cards of your deck", not draw 3 cards then discard them. Just because you see them discarded, doesn't mean they are "drawn". Hope you get the point.

The streakiness that I'm experiencing is basically proof of how much a dice roll this game really is. Skill my ass..... And that goes for winning too. I keep going on these amazing streaks where I win game after game after game. Then, all of a sudden I hit a matchup brick wall where every opponent has the proper counter to my deck. This proceeds to happen for several games in a row and there's not a damned thing I can do about it. No starting cards, terrible draws, etc, etc.
Stuck between ranks 10 and 14. Forever, I guess. Ladder is such a ball numbing grind....hardly worth it.

Yep. Just seems like there is way LESS control over things than we think there is in this game. The matchup engine is what drives me nuts. It's like, certain decks only work against certain other decks. So, if you happen to draw the right opponent then amazingly your success rate is high. If you draw a bad matchup, amazingly your success rate is low. Hard to find the "skill" factor there. I always seem to win when I play against favorable classes. Others, it's a guaranteed loss. So, what's the secret to making a deck that consistently wins all the time and is "class proof" against any class? That's the real skill, IMO. Finding that magic deck that handles everything. The in game skill is highly over rated.
I don't know what to make of the meta right now. On the one hand it seems like you have paladin basically dominating all of the fast decks. It seems like you basically need to run an OTK deck or play something retardedly fast. I don't understand why they felt that paladin was underpowered. They gave that class so many tools and it was doing fine before that. The only way to play a slow deck is to take like 4 board clears.
God im sick of it, this game has become who drops Thaurissan 1st! Druid, handlock, Oil Rogue, turn 6 Thaurissan is resign, this card needs to be nerfed, how am i supposed to play against it with no real counterspell? Its just insta win.
And when i win its because i played him 1st, what a bulshit!
Going against Tempo Mage, he ropes turn 1 and then follows up with a "Hello" spam so I knew I was dealing with a moron from the start. Problem is the moron had the RNG on his side:
- Both Implosions hit for 2;
- Bane of Doom summoned a Flame Imp;
- He got Aviana from Portal and played her alongside Emperor Thaurissan and Belcher on the same turn;
RNGesus is a cruel mistress.
At least the Bane of Doom didn't hit Blood Imp.

Did you face an inner steal priest? I guess it is one of those shitty gimmick decks, but hell, mind visioned two molten giants, got sylv, owl, darkbomb and... argus? with thoughsteal, mind controlled my thaurissan, and shadowflame and bane of doom with nefarian, each one of those helped that dick to survive my first assaults and eventually beat me, just because it was too lazy a fuck to even play cards by himself (I just knew about the inner fire because he played it on a fearsome doomguard summoned by bane of doom when I was almost done): And even got rampage with sarrad to help "his" injured molten giant to bash my jaraxxus, and mass dispel to clear my four taunts so he could lethal me.
I hope you only get deadly poison and blade flurry for the rest of your hearthstone life.
It makes arena less stressful for me. before i was super concerned about what class, what card to choose, and how to keep my win streak going. Now I know. Pick paladin, pick any and all Murloc Knights, profit. I don't feel bad losing to them, and both losing and winning with them can be funny. we just need to accept this game has no rhyme and that a murloc... fish humanoid... is for some reason a knight, and also a paladin card, and is the best minion in the arena
