Especially Stealth Rogue, it is not that strong. And I should know it was the only deck I felt comfortable crafting this close to the reset. It is considered a tier 2 deck yet it gets hate like no other in particular. Hunter and Token Druid is a toss up race at best, warrior is probably a bad matchup. That big taunt druid also I'd say is bad. Pure Pala is also a pain. In fact every match up is struggle and none make me go "nice, ezmode"... except maybe control warlock. Which given the Tickatus hate you'd think people would be grateful for. Without rogues keeping them in check you'd see a lot more control warlocks and they'd feel more comfortable running slower stuff like Tickatus too.
I am now high diamond and despite being a good player and playing like crazy to try and finish the stupid reward track I feel I am reaching the limit of this deck. I am climbing very slowly now, if at all. Not sure I can reach diamond 5 at all.
In summary I think rogue hate is really overblown and uncalled for. And indeed I invite people to try out rogue for themselves if they have the cards. They will realize it is far from unbeatable but they will have fun since it is a fun deck. The miracle style plays in particular feel very rewarding when you just barely scrape together a win.
lol just saw they nerfed nitroboost, congratz whiners
you killed a 2nd tier deck (in typical Blizz fashion it is a nerf to the ground, could have made attack +3 to compensate for higher cost...), that ofc won't stop you from being assplowed by token druid and other actually great decks
Tier doesn't mean anything. Rogue has been so oppressive, the meta has tech'd just to counter Rogue.
As far as feelings go, Rogue just poses very uninteresting gameplay. You can't interact with a weapon bashing into your face the whole match, and you can't even interact with the minions because they're all stealthed. Add to that the fact that Rogue has Secret Passage, it makes it a ridiculous aggro deck, without ever running out of cards.

Stealth rogue is hated because it's a full face deck that plays op cards like nitroboost poison (getting nerfed) and secret passage (would merit to be). Most of its cards can't be interacted with as they are either straight up face damage, stealth minions or card draw. So a match against face rogue relies entirely on wether you drew your taunts or heals. Also, because it finishes games so fast, teching is costly and not always effective, because you might not even draw your oozes/taunts/heals.
Most people hated face hunter when it was a thing, because the deck is uninteractive at best and feels awful to play against. Stealth face rogue is basically the same, but with more card draw, so the people who play it feel even more snarky and, from experience, tend to emote a lot. They feel like they played well and barely scraped together a win when they got to draw 8 cards in a turn for 1 mana and unleashed all the skill of targeting the opponent's face with from-hand damage.
A lot of people hate over-aggressive (and overtuned) aggro decks that win turn 6, meaning a lot of decks that dare run cards that cost more than 3 mana don't feel like they played the game. While the aggro rogue gets to see and use his entire deck in a game, his opponent generally barely sees a third of his, meaning you don't feel like you played your deck, and your tech is against those kind of decks are unreliable.
So that's why people hate rogue. Because they like to play the game a little each match, which is not really what happens against stealth rogue
Feelsbad because I always play midrange/combo rogue in standard lol. Currently playing shuffle c'thun rogue. I get my class hated but still feel like an outcast among rogues since I'm not actually playing the class how most people play it. I also play mill rogue in wild, and was playing mill rogue even before cloak of shadows was released and it was a meme.
Rogue with the broken card draw and bounce and combo and mana cheat mechanics tend to play big combos every turn which leads to many "rope" turns, this is very frustrating to play against , you feel that you just watch your opponent plays the game and so many cards every turn ("hey looser") so this becomes very disturbing.
The class is currently is OP and dominates the meta, you can check tournaments stats and verify that Rogue is busted.
lol just saw they nerfed nitroboost, congratz whiners

The Nitroboost nerf was definitely necessary regardless of how strong Stealth Rogue is. The card was just way to efficient and broken in every Rogue deck (and I say that as someone who only plays Rogue).
How is Stealth Rogue a weak deck if Rogue is now the most played class and Aggro Rogue is 9% of meta overall and 14% meta at top legend?! How is the most popular deck in Hearthstone right now tier 2 deck???
Fun and interactive is what Stealth Rogue matchup is not and nitroboost was rightfully nerfed, 1 mana buff 2 things attack by 2? And one of them is very difficult to remove. It's still very good at 2 mana - remember oil is combo-dependant and gives +3 for 4 mana.
lol just saw they nerfed nitroboost, congratz whiners
LUL, just a drop of water on the molten hot steel of Meta imbalance, broken Classic cards like Shadowstep and Preparation shouldn't even have made it to the Core Set in the first place, nor should cards like Secret Passage even exist. Ban them on all 195 world countries. Also fire the Team 5 Rogue employer who is creating and giving permission to these cards.
Especially Stealth Rogue, it is not that strong. And I should know it was the only deck I felt comfortable crafting this close to the reset. It is considered a tier 2 deck.

Let me make some points: This one of the most played decks of the ladder. And the only reason for consider it tier 2 is because half of the ladder run decks that dealt well with Rogue. And still with that hard counter you can still reach diamond pretty easy with this deck. Most of the decks that cant outrun it usually just lose to it. Play for taunts usually dont work without healing (and i mean a bunch of healing, this deck can out-damage the normal priest builds. Weapons dont have good counter cards right now only 2 cards "dealt" with weapons and are usually too slow or too clunky to go into most decks.
Why everyone hate Rogue? that is not something new but i can give you an answer. For the same reason people hate Sorcerer's Apprentice but rogue is a class. It has a lot of low cost high impact cards and too much damage to sucess in early or late game. Sinse the start of this game Rogue is the class that is most rewarded for throw answers every turn. Rarely runs out of options and it have some really really busted cards. Secret Passage is a good example. Almost literally "draw 4 cards" for 1 mana.
Aggro rogue in general is one of the hardest deck to beat unless you counter it 100%. Even when you win some matches are too close. Once i see a Brian Kibler match when he just healing like 60 damage of the match, go into super late game, the rogue draw all their deck and STILL Kibler was only 8 damage out of lethal... And just because the rogue player missplayed leaving a non-stealth minion on board so he can target something with Hysteria and Galakrond. Otherwise he would lose again after healing almost 60 damage.
As some people above have pointed out, every class becomes the most hated class in the game whenever it's doing well. Just look at Shaman, debatably the worst class in the game for years from a mechanical perspective, but whenever it happens to be good it's positively loathed for it.
And some classes are hated even when they aren't doing that well, like Hunter; who made such an impression in Basic/Classic and during Naxx that people still believe they're justified in hating it today! That's where DH is right now in terms of public opinion imo, he was so powerful out the gate that people will probably hate him forever.
All that being said, there are people out there who hate all the classes, so don't feel bad about playing what you like.
I don't hate rogue, I like losing to rogue more than any other class (except mill rogue and priest rogue of course).
There's no bullshit in aggro/tempo rogue decks (in general, I know the lackeys are 100% bullshit), crazy powerful combos yes, fast cycling through the deck yes, some mana cheating yes, but no out of this world bullshit, you know what to expect, and if you lose, it's either your fault, or your draw order's fault.
One layer of RNG is enough, it's bad enough to not draw the cards you need, I hate losing to randomly generated stuff, especially the low cost cards generating high cost cards.
But it took me a while to think this way, I used to hate rogues in Vanilla because miracle rogue was very oppressive to control decks, and the feeling sticked, took me years to start appreciating playing with or against rogue.
I think rogue gets hate because they had the best cards in the classic set and now have the best cards in core set. Losing Edwin and eviscerate will hurt, but shadowstep was and is still the best card in the game.

Because the class is cancerous, to put it politely.

"it is not that strong"
Yep. Thats exactly what i think, when rouge is killing me from 25 hp, having just 1-2 equped and one 3-1 on a board.
This deck is crazy unfair, mostly becouse of secret passage, card is completly broken and must be 3 mana atleast, so rouge will be balanced.
because its Gamba
