Patron warrior was a common opinion for a long time. Don't know if that still holds. Maybe old miracle rogue.
My vote is on Patron Warrior too. Having said that, I didn't use to like that deck. Why? Because people who were able to master it were almost unstoppable on ladder, and that is bad design in my mind. Skill must always be rewarded, but not at nonsensical levels.

Patron warrior is the only tier 1 deck that I never could turn my brain off and auto-pilot so its that.

I hated the fact Team 5 nerfed it to the ground, could have been an awesome deck if properly balanced.
We will never forget you, Warsong Commander. Rest in peace, brave orcish lady. :(
Probably either Patron Warrior, Miracle Rogue or the classic freeze Mage (depending on matchups).
Otk decks in general pretty much autopilot themselves in some matchups, but become incredibly skill intensive in others.
Classic example would be Shirvalla Otk Paladin vs. Control Warrior. Killing them before they just armour out of range of your possible damage requires a lot of planning ahead, and sometimes a bit of luck...
I mean , getting to the combo was kind of hard and there was some hand and board planning you had to do in order to pull it off. I think it was pretty skill dependent deck (On top of the apm shenanigans )
I want to say a variant of Miracle Rogue myself, but I wasn't around in the Patron Warrior days. YOu id say standard, so Trump made a good Control Warrior and I still like to experiment with Miracle Rogue and Whirlkick Master, but it's all up to you and your dust bank.
I played alot of Maricle rogue and if you didn't plan it was instant lose pretty much.
Patron warrior is a tough one, it definitely required planning but it was consistent regardless. Just a very good pilot made that deck shine.
Shirvalla, imo was not high skill, the skill came more from the opponent out playing the combo then the pali player planning.
There have been some tempo priest decks that were legit and handlock I'd throw in too.
Best comment so far is it really depends on the matchup. I true test I'm the past have really been control warrior vs control warrior without 3rd party software. Some of those old Master tournies are mind blowing (and boring) that someone can see and plan 50 plays ahead for a win. That to me is high skill.
hearthstone is a game of answers...if your opponent doesn't have the answer he loses. its a 30 card game with 2 card duplicates so you really have a 15 card game. Skill in this game is simple memory of the cards and what can be played to answer your board state. If memorizing cards is a skill so is wiping my a$$ without getting $hit on my hand
skill is dropping a target at 100 yards while it's running using a lever-action 30-30 with a boresight.
skill in hearthstone is a tad above rolling dice...
stop fooling yourself into thinking you need more than 3 brain cells to be good at this game and stop trying to validate your genius by being good at it because all you accomplish is making yourself look like a fool.

No one is a fool for believing this game requires skill. It's perfectly fine to make some jokes here and there about it, but you obviously aren't joking. Stop trying to make others feel bad about the little things in life they can accomplish while having fun. Stop being so negative.

Very true... Otherwise the top players would win consistently, and there would be people constantly whining on sites like Hearthpwn unable to progress regardless of how much time, or effort they put into the game...
Either gadgetzan Razakus because it took quite a few decisions to stay alive or same expansion dragon priest. Drakonid Operative and Kabal Songstealer with Dragonfire Potion made for one of my favorite board centric control decks.

Historically, what has been the deck that required the most ammount of "skill" in your opinion (Standard only)
I would say combo priest with Test Subject
Test subject was pure apm, not skill
Handlock

100% skill, no luck involved. Yeah...
I know you are being sarcastic, don't worry. :P

The memories... XD
Handlock, patron warrior, miracle rogue, in that order.

This space is intentionally blank.

Current meta though = lowest skill floor yet.

😂😂😂
blad manz was being dead serious. very hard archetype to play being able to time everything properly.
It’s going to be a priest deck.
