When people are BMing and playing cards while having lethal, they're not doing it with malicious intent.
Can we have a proper discussion about this topic once and for all without comments like this one, please??? No sane person would believe such nonsense. And there is nothing wrong about malicious intent in a video game.
It definitely feels good to be superior in a video game, be it hearthstone or any other game out there (and don't pretend it doesn't). Heck even if one wins in UNO it's a good feeling - that's what games are partly about. In Hearthstone you have so many ways of being a jerk though and yes some people do it for no reason or to piss one off because they lost all the other games that day.
There are so many ways to annoy someone...roping at turn 1-2, BM via Emotes (they should be auto-disabled by default), not finishing off an opponent and wasting time/forcing him to concede or as you stated playing extra cards after the game is already over for you.
And yes, there are people out there who really need to do that.
The game is designed around a rock/paper/scissor loop. Often times you will see scissor players BMing you when you are paper, which is just hilarious as they had an advantage the whole game anyways. Don't let it get to you though. It's human...sadly.
Damn, dude, it's just a video game, for God's sake...

Absolutely true - but that doesn't mean I have to support or even like such behavior or does it? The term "bad sports" does exist ;)

Why not? People behave differently according to the enviroment. Just because someone is considered by some people an asshole while playing video games, doesn't mean he or she is not a good person in a more serious situation. People's behavior have many layers, we are not the same all the time.
I can't speak for everyone, but besides the obvious answer of "for quests", I'll also occasionally play additional cards if I want to 'show' my opponent that even if they had found the answer they were looking for, I still had lethal (ie. opponent is dead on board to my zoo deck after playing some draws/random effects; I might still play Leeroy + Soulfire to show that I had lethal in hand even if they had found an answer to the board).
I mean, I know personally it can be annoying to lose to a ridiculously lucky topdeck (or be thwarted by one for a moment, at least), so it could be reassuring for them to know that even if they hit the best draw possible they were still dead. Of course, how a person takes something is up to them.
Applies to other card games too. If you're playing Magic IRL and someone concedes along the lines of "damn it, if I had just drawn X card", you might show your hand or some cards from your hand to indicate that it wouldn't have mattered. I have also played out full turns when my opponent has 1 mana open, just in case there's a card they could use that I've forgotten about (I'm mostly playing standard online atm, so I don't believe there are any 0 cost cards to worry about - so when they're tapped out I just go for lethal).
That’s on you OP. I always end games as quickly as possible, but I sometimes hate when players keep playing when they have clearly lost. If we both have 10 mana and you are top decking as hunter against control priest, it’s BM to not concede.
This is what get's me every time. Just fucking concede, when you're clearly defeated and don't have any chance of winning. Saves not only my time, your's also.
How is it possible that people obsess over the smallest shit in this game, and not a single person cares about how people act? I've played most of the day today, and just about every person that's beaten me has played extra cards after they had lethal, if they could. Could you imagine someone doing this in real life? No, because no one would ever play games with them. It's really the most pitiful thing I've ever seen, that every single person I play needs to rub their opponent's nose in a loss just to make themselves feel superior. But it's just the opposite. All you are proving is that you are the most petty people in the world, having to act like a douche bag just to make yourself feel less inadequate.
All I want to do is play a game, have some fun, and avoid assholes. But no, this game isn't about fun, it's about some sort of weird, angry, sadistic, socially dysfunctional obsession. You want to feel better about yourself? Instead of acting like a douche bag, why not just be nice to people? Then they will like you, and you will be happier. Trying to piss someone off in a silly game only convinces both your opponent an yourself that you're just a joke. And you annoy your opponent for a few seconds, and they never think of you again, and you have to live with being a jerk that no one likes 24/7. I just don't get the mentality, and I don't get why no one cares.
There's hardly anything less consequential than a silly little game like this, and hardly anything more important in life than the way that you treat people. Such is the Internet, I guess, where a small amount of sadists and sociopaths have have taught a huge amount of socially-unaware people that self-esteem is based on treating people like shit. And the extremely sad thing is that people even stop noticing it, I think. It's sad that you can't have an basic notion of how to treat people and enjoy this game. I'm sure there are people that will say I'm to sensitive. I'm not. It's just extraordinarily sad to see so many people that have no empathy or any idea how to treat people.
I met with an equally interesting approach to what he lost. The last turn that remained before losing him is pulled to a string and only after the end of the maximum time he gives up. I don't know what such a person is guided by but it seems to me that the purpose is to punish the victors. Something like inviting friends and offend winner that I also meet quite often (so often that I just don't accept invitations anymore). People's behavior is strange, but it seems to be one and the same group: those who invite "friend" those who show their advantage those who "punish" the winner I wanna Blizzard punish toxic players...

Your initial statement answered your whole post, quite ironic , if you see opponents having lethal, just concede if you think they are wasting your time, or maybe youre prideful and sadistic and you wont do so? I understand making posts about broken things in game and bugs but this. Pitiful.
1. perhaps didnt spot lethal at first 2. u can concede so stop crying tard 3. quest exist to be done, so why not play some cards that would let me finish my quest faster?
I do this to aggro players and people who play RNG decks on ladder. Is it petty, hell yes. But it makes me feel better after their annoying shenanigans, especially if they’ve been losing for a while and kept trying to RNG a win.
Happens against me all the time but I didn’t know people cared. Since it’s a fact of the game, my advice is to stop giving it the weight it clearly doesn’t deserve. No amount of justification over how dysfunctional and antisocial it is will change the fact that it happens.

i always rope and emote before i silence the turn 4 apothecary. i guess i'm the devil now.
Some people play extra cards just to show what they had for the opponent’s replay thing if the match was particularly epic, some do it just to show that they had lethal not just from rng, some yes do it to bm
I have three points for which you seems like crying kid to me...
For first reason... You don't even bother think people against you don't do it, becose they want show you, but becose they have reason... For example if i have lethal i often play another card/s... becose i want have done quest as fast as possible and one turn with so much mana is better then 3 turns in new game.
For second if other player do it, just let them. You said you play it for fun, so +-50 sec is not this much.
And for last and most important reason, which imply on your every game. You have specialy designed possibility to concead. So stop complain about how everybody is so mean to you by prolonging your suffering and do something with your mindset.

What ridicoulus thread.
Calling someone asshole or sadistic for palming an extra card in a lethal turn. Educate yourself and learn about empathy pls. Thx.
Different people, different mindsets = different ways of having fun

Always bm
you're not sensitive. sensitive would be to not bother everybody with a thread about your insecurities.
