First my rant to Blizzard then my rant to the playerbase...
It is ridiculous how Bliz doesnt want to admit that pencils have erasers for a reason... And also lead. Why can we not have balance tweaks every few weeks like many modern games do? Identifying problematic cards is easy to do and just removing 1 health or attack can completely tone down an abusive card (no need to take the lazy way and nerf its mana +1 every time.. Just adjust stats..) Same should go for underachiever decks. Quest Warlock isnt working out? No big deal. Adjust a stat or two and in this case buff Plot Twist to 1 mana. Just an example.
Moving on to you the player base, I now focus my fury. How can you be content to see so few decks in the meta and play obediently to the few decks that are proven to win? Do you not understand that your bovine contentment makes them shrug off any real urgemcy to make this game better since all of you are continually playing it without any complaint. Here come the comments that some people like that and I'm aware, but I know most people who play this game play it in a large state of dissatisfaction. But still they won't voice up.
Blizzard please do not be lazy to fix your game's blatant problems, do regular balance adjustments like any self-respecting game should. Players please nudge them harder.
Well it’s not that easy to balance the top 2 or 3 decks every month or so. Although I admit Priest and Shamans look very strong, nerfing them would only lead to a huge outcry of the F2P players.
If they release cards like the quests or Herocards that are so high above the powerlevel of our basic/core set , the balance is out of the window anyways. Everything wraps around these cards, and nerfing them would only lead into the next quest/HeroDKcard from another class being OP... ( like if you nerf Priests and Shaman, the next broken thing could be tip the scales Pally and Quest Druid?? ) .
Just remember the nerf after the last expansion, and how many people cried because their mage ( and also Priest and Warrior) is now worthless. And like other streamers said, if you nerf every month or 2 weeks , a lot of casual players who only log in one or twice a week ( wich are the majority of the people playing HS I heard) would be annoyed and most likely not be too much interested in figuring out a new deck etc.
I don't play them. Right now I've been playing a lot of Quest Rogue because it is fun and challenging. I bite my lip because all Blizzard would have to do to make it better is release a new card mid-expansion that was something like:
Underworld Strategist epic 2 mana 2/1 Battlecry: Discover a card from another class. Reroll your cards from other classes into new ones. That's why I am for subtle stat nerfs and all for big buffs. This game would be so much better if more decks were purposely improved to be better.
Then, wallah, the deck I love playing would be more viable since the deck suffers from poor rolls.
True enough about Hunter Druid and Warrior. There are exactly 5 viable decks right now. Not nearly enough. Blizzard do your job
Idk, i have been playing aggro token druid since last expansion and it just works, dont have to waste dust on anything. Sitting on 25k. Also i hate the game in general so i just do the dailies and hope one day the meta wont be cancerous AF.
Moving on to you the player base, I now focus my fury. How can you be content to see so few decks in the meta and play obediently to the few decks that are proven to win?
Yeah I am fine with the meta. Only Rogue and Mage are weak, rest of the classes have multiple legend viable decks, there is a lot of meta diversity for people who are willing to try new things, and not just look at HSreplay stats and complain about meta diversity.
The meta isn’t too bad aside from combo priest. That crap is OP as hell with stupidly unbeatable openings. With NZoth coming back for a bit we’re like gonna see a death rattle priest come up too with all the res and control the class has access to. Not looking forward to priest stone again.
1.) No one has infinite dust/money, the lootbot/card pack system makes nerfs far more expensive than say a game like lol where you dont rely on gacha or massive diminishing returns to get the one character you want to play
2) Lootbox system makes game expensive
3) Did i already talk about the diminishing returns if disenchanting cards?? even if they nerf a single card for a particular strategy and give a full refund to the nerfed card they dont exactly refund the other ones, core example, when they nerfed the rogue quest to 4/4s instead of 5/5s they did give refund for the quest but the players that crafted Sonya Shadowdancer to play it got stuck with a now useless card that doesnt fit any strategy and that would only yield 1/4th of itsd original value when disenchanted.
No I agree with your points. I've stopped playing ladder for the exact reason that is combo priest. I don't want to be forced into playing decks that are boring just to counter the same OP deck you play against every other game. I'm not sure nerfs every few weeks is the answer. Maybe 1 balance a month would be fine, and buffing classes as well as nerfing. I've got no issue with cards being changed that are just not fun to play against either, regardless of their winrate. I'm just not sure there is a magic bullet that is going to please everyone, and maybe that is what Blizz is scared of.
As for speaking up, I've read plenty of threads both here and on the official forums for years decrying all the T1 decks that netdeckers just copy and paste from their favourite streamer, but Blizzard appears to have selective hearing I'm afraid. Whether they're scared of driving away the F2P players who just dust and create 1 T1 deck to play forever until the next OP deck is found, or their play testing is that rigorous that they know what is better for us better than we do, they don't appear to care about player opinion until it has reached a critical mass like it did with Dr Boom.
I do know I wouldn't waste my time and effort playing if I 'hated the game' like one poster said though. Maybe he enjoys it but playing token druid just because it is cheap and works, I can understand why someone would hate the game. I loved WoW for many years but as soon as I wasn't having fun anymore I stopped playing, regardless of my investment in it and my affection for the game.
Reading this forum is always funny..people who don't work in the industry claiming they know what's wrong and suggesting simply ways to fix it and slating people who do work in said industry.
Coupled with, this game is crap but still play it and take the time to come on a forum dedicated to said game. If you think certain decks are awful, don't play them..of you think the game is, don't play it..if you don't want to pay any money, don't..but save the rest of us please ..

Freeze mage, Quest mage and Highlander mage disagree and want to see more combo priest decks on ladder. The problem here is that everything else runs over mage and the vast majority of players are playing everything else.

While I agree with most of what you say. You're turning someone else's passion into something confrontational. It's when people are talking about things constructively they are showing how they want something to succeed, even if the discussion stems from frustration.
And yes most things in all industries can be fixed/course corrected with a little application of logic. In HS the logic is based in revenue though.
... but I know most people who play this game play it in a large state of dissatisfaction. But still they won't voice up.
You know nothing of the sort, and you have no business speaking for "most people who play this game."
If it were possible to know the true will of the majority of the players, I promise you that Blizzard would be far more aware of it than you would, and they'd do their best to address it, within the constraints of time and budget. Anything less would be tantamount to leaving money on the table -- something no company ever does willingly.

Never ceases to amaze me how many threads can simultaneously sustain the same conversation. You guys should read some of the other entries in General Discussion, in particular the "true skill in Hearthstone" thread, to get an idea wha mean.
I try not to get too abrasive about a digital card game, but the constant "this game is shit" makes no sense.
The game has too few viable decks? Certainly not relative to past years. Objectively provable fact: this is one of the most diverse metas in the history of the game.
The game's RNG is rigged? Just read my post history, I've gone over this 30 times. Long story short: No it isn't.
But by all means, we need to do this again.

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
Personally, I'm glad that there are so many players playing quest shaman because the deck just isn't that good. Just look up the stats for that deck. Sure once you complete the quest you start generating a ton a value due to your cheap battle cry minions generating two lackeys and then those lackey's triggering their own battle cries twice. The deck is considered fun because once you complete the quest, your tempo ramps up to 100 and you can catch up pretty quick. What many players don't recognize however is that quest is completed late too often and ends up losing much more frequently than other top tier decks. Let's look at the matchups
Quest Shaman vs Combo Priest - 40% chance to win. Quest shaman vs highlander hunter 49% chance to win. Quest shaman vs quest druid 46% chance to win. Quest shaman vs control warrior 49% chance to win.
It's not a great deck and a lot of people play it. Embrace this fact. Combo priest is the 2nd most popular deck only because it wrecks quest shaman. Only at legend and rank 1 do the number of combo priest players outnumber the number of quest shaman players. For everyone else - you know what to do now.
I can't support your request due to the fact that the meta has not self regulated correctly to allow the best decks to rise to the top yet. Once that happens, then maybe make some changes.

Why would you even bother playing a game you hate?
That's like asking why people stay in relationships they have inroads with. They love it but they know it could be better XD
That's why you speak your piece. It's in hope something will change. Don't even try to tell me you are 100% happy with the game

I wish they'd totally get rid of the RNG aspect of the game it's so frustrating wah wah wah. LOL
Shaking your tiny fist in gnomish rage isn't going to accomplish much. Surely you understand that.
