Did we ever see her do anything druid-like anywhere? The only thing I can think of is the fact she is a Night Elf which tend to be druids (like malfurion) or Priests (like tyrande) but that isn't a for sure thing. She seems more like a rouge or something.

"Edgy quote about being too smart and suffering for it" - Literally who - 1890 Yes I am better than you, my signature implies it. Annoying Random colours.
You should also take in to consideration fact, that pool is limited. I don't think Blizz ever released free mage, hunter or warrior hero portrait. You can buy their portraits with $$$ (Magni, Alleria, Medivh). So with "free" (lol free for 79,99 EUR), they are basically rotating sham, pal, rog, druid, lock priest.
Since they had to match each of the explorers with a class. Since when is Galvadon a Paladin? Or Dr Boom a Warrior?
Not every character featured in class cards is a literal practitioner of that class.
Yeah but him being a warrior makes sense given he uses mech which are basically always armored and mech warrior was always one of the big mech classes, Galvadon isn't really a major character (or really has any character at all).

Warrior was not always one of the big Mech classes, it became a big Mech class at the same time as Dr Boom coincidentally came to represent the class in Boomlabs.
Anyway you missed the point entirely. Dr Boom isn't a "Warrior", it just happens to be the class that fit him the best thanks to expansion themes. Dr Boom could just have easily been the Hunter legendary in Boomlabs before Flark was made in charge of explosives.
I'm the same way, Elise isn't (currently) a Druid necessarily. Obviously the team decided she just fits into that class best for this set, just as Finley, Reno and Brann will all be the themes of 3 other classes.
It's a weird case for sure, I mean anyone can be a warrior, hunter or rouge given they are pretty much just dudes with armor and basic weapons you'd for the most part find in the real world. Things like Druid, Shaman or Warlock tend to be way more specific like the only Druids we see come from specific factions, warlocks mostly come from cults or lead them.
Basically her being a rouge makes sense because you don't typically need special training for that, or be part of a group plus the definition is pretty loose whereas if you are a druid you'd at least have some contact with some druid organizations or at least do something druid-like like getting a tree to punch the shit outta someone.

She is an original character to Hearthstone (which you probably already know), and was never really given a class designation before. You're probably right in the assumption that being a night elf, this probably played a part in her Druid class decision, though, since they have often been fairly synonymous with the class. Probably. Have I said probably enough?
It's also likely in large part that they had to fit in all the extra classes in a way that felt right, of course. ;-) Being an archaeologist / Indiana Jones style character, I guess the class part never really stood out which is why it possibly feels a little odd now - that and the fact no abilities were displayed.
In fact, when you think about it, Reno Jackson is a Mage, but his biggest ability has always been a Full-Heal (more in the realms of a Priest or Paladin) - which at least gives some credit as to why perhaps some thought he would be the Paladin. (Or Nozari, which was another theory)
Reno isn't really a mage, Finley isn't really a PALADIN, elise isn't really a druid... It's about the item they are wearing in this expansion. That's is their temporary "class" identity.
Reno has a crystal canon -> Arcane mage stuff
Finley has a Golden fish -> gold, shiny, paladin, you know
Elise has a lunar staff -> balance druid stuff
Brann has a dinosaur and a rifle -> hunter thing.
They are just neutral explorers infused with the power of some items.
check out the thread about RENO as a BRONZE DRAGON... i give a quite simple, maybe not hte best, but quite ok answer to your answer.... something like Blizzard wanted to keep it secret since the fist moment.... try to check the 4 artworks of the Explorers... each of them have something related with the class that has been presented now in SOU expansion

I wish this was true because it would be a lot less jarring flavor-wise, but alas it's wrong. You can read Elise the hero skin's flavor text in your collection after the latest patch:
Before she became an explorer, Elise taught young druids. Her ability to tolerate immature minds hasn't changed at all!
I was thinking mage, but balance druids are basically mages.
She likes exploring nature and junk in ungoro so it's not a big stretch
Anyone that reads books and research can be a mage. I may have been interested if she was a mage even though mage is probably my 3rd from last played class on top of always scumbag rogue and consistently braindead druid. Looks like they wont be suckering me into throwing money at them for a game i dont even like and would only play a week after expansion this time around LOL
It's so annoying man. I play Hearthstone since Beta and had always hoped to see a tauren druid portrait. Or any tauren hero for that matter. But no, there's a fucking annoy-o-tron hero but there still are classic Warcraft races without any representation. No forsaken, draenei, goblin, worgen or pandas either.
I like Elise as Druid, the hero power animation is very nice too, but still swinging with the face feels odd. needs the quest, it's so fitting, possibly even fitted? ;P
But yes, a Tauren(Hamuul anyone?) would be great too. And ofc Forsaken, Goblins, Worgen, Gnomes, Pandas(unlikely tbh) to diversify and include. At least with Rastakan and Lazul we got Trolls now, that's something...

i guess since 1st July 2019.

Be happy Dr.Boom isnt rogue, imagine bomb rogue with bounce. It would be even more annoying.
- Mimicry is the truest form of compliment -

She cast a spell during the confrontation with Rafaam in the League of Explorers adventure. Aluth Alorray! or something.
Did that spell tell what her class was? I forgot the context - was she trying to undo Rafaam animating the museum exhibits?

Well, this was my question after bundle reveal.
I was and I am still VERY dissapointed, that she would be druid, so I will preorder 50 packs only.

I just wrote this here for the Achievement
Elise is Druid since Un'goro. Elise the Trailblazer's attack sound is "Aluth Neladar" is a Druid spell, confirmed by BBrode and Peter Whalen during Un'goro https://twitter.com/legendaryferret/status/854220925239148544?lang=en
Brann is hunter in Wow.
Reno has mage artifact gun, so he is mage.
Finley, only Paladin left so he is Paladin XD.
I love it when people bring the facts to stupid fan-speculation arguments. You have my sincere thanks.
(And Finley is a Paladin because -- so far in HS -- Murlocs are generally Shaman or Paladin cards, and we don't need a Shaman this time.)
