So, your opinion on Priest? I'm just curious since I read a lot of threads complaining about hunter, but noone seems to have problems with Priests? Endless removal, healing, way too easy and too early OTK combos or just drop 5 Amaras and play with 2 decks thanks to Benedicuts. My personal opinion is that Priest has more overpowerd tools than any other class, but that's just my expirience. Feels free to share yours. ;)
Fun Fact: 20% Winrate against Priest with my Even Warlock while being around 60 to 70% against every other class. OMEGALUL
Edit: Please keep in mind that this whole thread is about Standart Format only, since wild is just for the memes anyway.
It's third expansion of the year. Generally the time when Priest becomes powerful in the meta, it will go back to shittiest class again after rotation.

There are legit things to complain about Priest but Amara and Benedictus is not any of them. Looks like you got shafted by some guy playing meme tier Greed Priest.
BTW Priest doesn't have endless healing, both Warrior and Druid can out heal Priest.
Ressurect effects and Shadow Essence were a mistake. Lyra and Radiant also ended up being kind of a stupid decision considering they went on to rpint cloning gallery.
Hard Control Priest sucks ass against most deck that aren't homwbrew value memes
Priest is always volatile. It can't really stand on its own in the meta unless it has some serious powercreep or it just happens to counter what'S popular.
This is why they are strong now. Both main Priest decks obliterate most Hunter decks and can still beat everyone else regularly enough. Priest wwill always have to be the meme class unless they manage to create an archetype that doesn't revolve around bullshitting your way out of a loss every single time.
Asking if priest is over powered when on the front page of Hearthpwn paladin/hunter/warlock (rogue) show up daily with 50% wr. I don't think I've seen priest on that list more than 3 times for a couple hours.
I play priest consistently on ladder, yea the games where you loose seem like the decks(class) are over powered, but if you look at the over all play style it is mostly RNG fiesta or OTK.
I play for fun rather than to get to that rank 5+ status, with that said I can play 20 games one day I will win 5 of them, another day I'll win 10, and another day I get no love and win none. This goes with most decks out there.
It's not overpowered but it is very polarising just like warrior, i.e. playing against it is very unfun. Win rates of priest decks are not that great but polarisation and non interactivity has been used as a reason for balance changes in the past. That's why I suspect Priest and Warrior will be on a chopping block in next balance update.
Blizzard should make a special stream lessons or youtube videos in which they explain the the only way hs should be played is with supa dupa 1000 IQ control/combo homebrewed decks and 30 minutes long match is a minimum time period that proves you're not braindead blah blah something etc.
I wouldn’t say it’s overpowered because there is a high learning curve that goes with Priest playing OTK.
The problem is losing to other OTK decks feels like you’ve wasted your time against someone that’s not running any real strategy. The learning curve for playing OTK decks in the most part is far too low. It should be more complicated than simply burning through your cards. This goes for any Mech deck.
OP Scream and Mass Hysteria totally deserving both mana cost nerfs at least +1 mana.
Mass Hysteria is a better Brawl and OP Scream a better Twisting Nether (most of the time). I would make both even +2 mana more expensive if I could...
I think Mass Hysteria is fine because you can play around it. Either play minions with high health, keep odd number of minions to make Mass Hysteria less effective and/or have Deathrattle minions so Deathrattle gets activated. Psychic Scream on the other hand is a total board clear that you cannot play around, I could easily see it nerfed to 10 mana.
It isnt Op its just frustrating to play against. and in my opinion its Scream that the offender i just cant play around it other than put enough pressure on the board to kill them fast or try and minimize the damage the card does, If you cant you give them time to do their stuff. if you flood they shuffle junk that you dont want to draw. if you play a combo the card slow you down.If you play a deathrattle deck it ignores you card's deathrattles. if you play buffs it ignores the buffs. if play big minions it shuffles them back. if you play a deck like Reno X it can mess your reno up.
In what world is Priest overpowered, especially in Standard, since this is a thread about the Standard format? In Wild it can be annoying when it highrolls Barnes on turn 4 (or turn 3), but when that doesn't happen, it's manageable.
PS: The fact that you have 20% WR against a deck means absolutely nothing about a class as a whole.

High learning curve? 1. Heal 2. Heal/Spirit Lash 3. Heal / Weird Minion who gives you a coin 4. Heal / Coin Mass Hysteria 5. Mass Hysteria 6. Heal 7. Psychic Scream 8. Coin + Gallery + Mindblast + Mindblast = Lethal. Guess it's pretty complicated to handle so much cards. :D (But for real, Hearthstone isn't the most complicated game in the world, nothing in this game has a high learning curve.

You're totally right, never thought of playing around cards! So I just stop dropping minions until turn 5 or even better, build a whole deathrattle minion deck as suggested just to counterplay one single card from one single class. Brilliant. :)
The problem with clone priest is that there is NO counterplay if you are not playing aggro.
As a control deck i can counter most OTK decks by teching for it, with cards like demonic project etc (cause you roughly know when mechathun is in their hand for example). With priest, there is NO counter play. They summon a malygos on turn 5/6, even if you polymorph it or anything, they will just have another one later. Even if you managed to get a really lucky demonic project off, they just go infinite lyra shenanigans, etc. etc.
This means that the only thing you can do is hope you highroll AND they don't have psychic scream (lol) and otherwise you just sit there and wait for the clock to tick down, even as aggro if they shadow essence lyra/malygos into spirit lash it's just gg, or they keep resurrecting Zilliax.
Having deck mechanics that can not be countered is just extremely bad game design, something the big names in the printed CCG genre learned decades ago. It doesn't mean that the deck is overpowered, but it does mean that it feels very frustrating to play against. You just sit there and hope you kill them before their vomit combo goes off, unable to do anything else.
The problem is they have a weak base set; so in order for them to stay relevant they have to give them downright OP stuff every rotation. Warrior has already been gutted that way as well, and Paladin is next.
I don't necessarily disagree with this approach, as long as every class is balanced it doesn't matter how strong or weak they are.

Just because your deck is bad against Priest doesn't mean Priest is overpowered. My rouge decks can destroy most priest decks.

I tried having fun once. It was awful.
No. U play control vs it u lose u play aggro u win. Druid got nerfed cause its otk variant could win vs aggro too and thats not balanced

Cute, ineffective, but cute.
original priest was an op class, but then they nerfed it - oof
Hunter, paladin and mage have higher winrates.
Priest is far from top thier, thus not overpowered.
Some people are so annoying...

Just check this post on priest after rotation: https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/229606-rotation-2019-who-will-lose-what

Priest is my fav class and i can say they are not overpowered, but Barnes makes them feel SUPER powerful.
Like i think this shows how priest can seem overpowered, but only one card doing that.

in like all of ever of hearthstone, priest has had like 2 viable decks.
so no, not OP, just annoying.
Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
