Because I'm not playing to rank up, I have fun on my own terms. Mostly just experimenting when I play, I actively play strange decks. I do this so my opponent hardly has a clue what's in my deck. Every time a new set comes out, I have more I can do, which means that I'm always satisfied with the game. The best part is nerfs never affect me because I'm not playing meta compositions.
If you want to have more fun, move over to Wild and stop worrying about your rank.
Honestly, the matchups are so polarizing if you're not playing aggro, and since I don't like aggro (gets boring quickly), it's a rollercoaster of matchups. Win 5 in a row, lose 4-5 in a row. Yay.
I want a balance patch, just basically anything to keep it fresh, and the rotation to happen already, so DKs, Cubes and druid BS cards are gone.
I will enjoy the game when the Hunter DK is nerfed.
Blizzard won't nerf Rexxar until it rotates, and even then only once the wild community outcry gets loud enough like it did with giants and Naga. Hunter players cried for control tools for so long that Blizzard finally gave us the ultimate control tool in one card: infinite value attached to an active AoE.
I think we just deal with Rexxar for the next 6 months while the beast pool gets deeper in December, then we're free of all the DKs, Cube, and a lot of cards that did not age well in regards to meta balance. Wild will eventually feel the pain of Rexxar's value game, and hopefully standard can bring back a tier 2 midrange hunter (which is where hunter best serves the meta imo).

Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
I've been having a blast. I switch decks and formats very frequently so I jump from stuff like odd warrior to malygos rogue to cube hunter to mecha'thun priest to even shaman, then I'll switch to wild when I'm bored of that and play secret hunter or renolock or fatigue warrior or more even shaman. And the great thing is, all those decks work! The whole rock paper scizzors argument is only true for combo vs control, anything else and you stand a change, even warrior vs deathrattle hunter. It just means playing smart from turn 1, and a pinch of luck goes a long way. The sheer amount of tech options really lets you adapt your decks in the smallest ways to your meta. For instance, for the longest time I didn't run Azalina in my odd warrior, but after some losses to Tog, I had a blast copying and outfatiguing them. Then there are cards like Mossy, Blood knight, Zola, Void ripper, and more.
People who don't enjoy the game are people who get disporportionately tilted at losses and start to blame the game. Losses are normal part of any game, as are unfavored matchups. Of course, getting tilted due to insanely unlucky events is fine, but there are people who post in the salt thread EVERY day, and that's just indicative of an unhealthy relationship with the game. Those people start to see themselvse as a victim throughout games. Imagine a mage playing Mana Wyrm turn one and getting tilted, thinking "OF COURSE THEY GET THAT TURN ONE." If you're a player who reacts like that consistently, you're not likely to have fun.
No, I stopped having fun a couple of weeks ago. Decided I'd had enough and uninstalled Hearthstone a while ago. I've been playing since MSoG, so almost two years, and the game lost its lustre for me this expansion. Boomsday is definitely my least favourite expansion, it introduced the least amount of creativity in the meta and fueled decks that feel completely unfun to lose against (Druid, OTK decks, Hunter DK, Quest Rogue etc). I'm a free to play player and I only have a limited selection of decks, so as much as I'd like to say "If you can't beat them, join them" I don't have the dust or gold to build those decks properly.
So, I am not going to play for a while. Maybe next expansion I'll come back but for now the game is at a point where it really isn't fun for me. Glad to see others are having fun, though!
Yes, I just had a great moment with HS. Priest played Hemet on turn 6 vs my control deck.
These joyous moments keep me coming back. Love you HS <3
LOL funny you mention that, that happened to me twice in a row. Played two separate players who both played Mechathun Priest and both got Hemet on turn 6. I'm sure you can imagine how the rest of the game went.
Been playing for 4/5 years. I think for the last year I've been treating the game like more of a card collection simulator rather than actually enjoying it.
Ranked play is full of tryhards.
Casual is too.
Tavern Brawl is mostly recycled brawls.
SP content gets old quick (imo). Though I give Blizz much credit for this direction.
I think I'm just naturally progressing away from Hearthstone, and I'm okay with that.
I have fun when I develop the board and then my opponent Druid drops 30 total HP taunts on the board with 6 mana card
I have fun when Shuder Shaman fully clears the board/hexes 6 turns in a row and then drops the imbecile card
I have fun when Zoolock beats me so hard and develops 6 minion board (by turn 2-3) even harder than my father used to beat me with his belt
I have fun when OTK Mage (or whatever it is called) stalls (freezes the board) the game for 700 turns looking for Antonidas and then just kills me with fireballs in one turn and I just helplessly watch
I have fun when Odd Rogue drops dire mole on the board then buffs it with Cold Blood on turn 2 and u have no means to remove it and you just get hit hard as a truck
I cand add:
I have fun when Deathrattle Hunter throws and egg on the board and activates its deathrattle twice.
I have fun when Bomb Hunter fills the board with minions that will cause me face damage regardless of what I do with them (unless I'm a priest with Mass Dispell on hand).
I have fun when my opponent throws a 1/5 mech on the board and I have no answer to it right away, just for next turn he magnetize it with a 5/5, dealing 6 damage to my face.
I have fun when Warlock throws away all of my cards while being able to develop his board.
I have fun when Druids can fill the board with 2/2 plants that summon other 2/2 plants on deathrattle, allowing them to deal 51 damage to my face next turn.
i only have fun when playing thief priest/rogue. Chamelos makes me feel like Peagasus from Yu-Gi-Oh. If i am trying to climb ladder, forced into play styles like zoolock and fatigue warrior kill the fun aspect for me.
Ofc i have fun. I must show my golden deck to other players hahahaha I just like that animations and golden borders of cards. Its like you are on LSD xD
The game is fun. You have to learn that losing is part of the game. I learned that to enjoy the game more, it is not get too emotionally involved with the current match you are playing. If you do, you are in danger of tilting and your performance will drop because your mind is not clear. Hence with each match, have a come-and-go mindset.
WIN = Awesome! Next game.
LOSS = Alright. Next game.
If the emotes are distracting you, just squelch them or have an auto-squelch plugin install for ease of use. Good luck and have fun!

I've been playing since closed beta and I'm having the more fun playing HS this expansion than I have in ages.
I stopped playing a few expansions ago and came back for Boomsday, currently sitting at rank 3 on standard ladder. The meta is really diverse, there's a ton of control, combo and aggro decks going around and I'm having a blast laddering.
No. Sites like Vicious Syndicate outline the ways you're allowed to have fun. I don't like any of those broken decks, therefore I don't have fun playing this game.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
I used to. Preety much doing my quests every three days. I guess it is only because I invested so much in it... But I understand TS : this game is full of bullies and anti-fun police psychos. That being said, going back to elders scrolls legends now...
My fun is always short-lived. Maybe I craft a really good arena deck and have fun the first few games that are fair/evenly matched and I win. But then the fun police come and I get matched up against completely absurd decks that I have maybe been offered something equally as good once or twice in my lifetime and end up going 3-3 with an extremely good deck because I dared to go 3-0.
Or in ladder, maybe I go something like 8-2 with an off meta deck. Well, that's all the fun i'll have because once it figures out what my deck loses to, I'm going to face a wall of those until it gets driven back as close to 50% as it can.
Hearthstone doesn't aim to be fun or enjoyable, it is clear it wants to be a tryhard esportz "game", where the only way to succeed is to play inherently un-fun decks where every game is rock paper scissors +/- 5% allowing for shitty draws.
Got to Legend with Spiteful Mage this season. Played some other decks along the way too, but the most fun I had was with Mage (and frustration, sometimes xD). So yeah, in spite of all the broken stuff I don't like, like Shudderwock, Toggwagle Azalina etc., I still have fun, and success with like, what, tier 3 decks? I can see it would be pretty hard for someone with a limited collection to enjoy playing atm, tho.
