*Too busy playing as MECHA JARAXXUS to notice the trappings of capitalism*

Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
Hearthstone is a free game... they need to make money some how. The price is a bit ridiculous, but it’s not like that’s the only preorder you can buy. I totally agree with you, but I think they should have the right to charge high prices for preorders and packs, as the game is free and it has multiple expansions a year.
It's genius marketing. I bought the megapack because it's technically a whole 2p cheaper per pack, plus you get MECHA-JARAXXUS and the golden legendary. Might get the other pack too because second golden legendary plus more packs.
Genius if you could pick the Leg. They better not print another AVINA. The salt would be... it would eclipse November 8, 2016.
Gamers love 'hats', this is hardly a new thing. Also, it's a business. Of course you don't 'need' the cosmetic, but you also don't 'need' to play this game. I'm not arguing the fact that HS is way too expensive, but let's not break out the pitchforks like we're being denied a basic human right or anything.
Maybe this is just not for you. I have a lot of disposable income, buying this mega-bundle is a drop in the bucket. It's totally for me. Just because something is offered does not mean you should be able to have it. If you don't find $80 worth of value in the bundle, don't buy it.
For some reason, the essence of supply and demand appears to have escaped you. Your sense of entitlement is great and all, but often you just don't get what you want on your terms. If you want it, pay. But Blizz is not offering a utility like electricity or water: it's just a game. They are under no obligation to do anything other than make money off of folks like me. And they do, so why would they ever change?
That's it. That’s all you get. For $30 more dollars you get a few more glorified loot boxes and a skin. $80 for a hero portrait, and it’s one that the majority of people will want too.
But now, they’ve locked a skin of a very popular character behind a $80 preorder paywall.
So you're upset because a portrait is a bad reward for $80... But you're also upset because it's such a good reward, people will have to pay up or miss out? Pick a side.
Hero skin being locked behind huge paywall is ridiculous.
I agree. I'm going to be at such a huge disadvantage if I don't get this skin. I might just concede out of shame in the warlock mirror if I am stuck with my paltry nemsy. How dare blizzard make things people want and then charge money for them?????
You realize that you aren’t paying 80$ for the hero right ? That the break down is 1$ per pack and everything else is essentially free ?
Or maybe it’s just Mecha Jaraxxus that’s 80$ and the packs , cardback and gold leg are free ?
Don’t like it ? Don’t buy it, but stop frothing at the mouth. While it’s cool , it’s not the absolute coolest or the must have.
In my opinion that would be Arthas and he’s got to be earned. Not paid for. With nearly anyone able to buy him , he’s not “special”. Same said for the cardbacks. It’s for collectors.
You could argue that anyone can earn Arthas as well but that’s more time and effort than clicking a pay button.
Not trying to flame anyone or stir up some trouble. Just tired of the continuous toxic outpouring of negative opinions.
Exactly, thank you. It's $80 for 80 packs. $1 per pack is a good deal. They give you a number of things for free for spending that amount. People are bitching just to bitch, and of course, people will rally behind OP for speaking for them. People will look for anything to bitch about. The teaser about the new expansion only just dropped today, and this is now the second thread I've found where someone is making it out to be worse than it is.
You all know why this deal exists, right? To reward people for their dedication to funding the game. Want to know another reason this deal exists? To help push more cards into the player's collection to quicken the number of diverse decks into play. There is no greed to be had because you're getting a lot for $80. You should be thanking Blizzard for the second preorder option.
No one ever complains when they pay 60$ for a brand new game and they beat it within 48 hours then 2 months down the line 20$ content for it is released and you beat that in 4 hours.
Even if you spent 180$ a year on this game. An That’s “IF” You preorder all 3 expansions. That’s still cheaper than 720$ a year. Which is 1 console game per month. which we all know is a lie because every month multiple AAA titles drop , which will always include some sort of 80-100$ package.
This is literally no different , except it’s a card game. Except you can take it anywhere you go , where as most gamers aren’t prone to lug around their consoles. Unless it’s a Switch. Props to Nintendo for figuring that out. Now if only they’d port hearthstone , but alas that’s only a pipe dream.
That's just it. These bundles save money on packs, helps people get into the "New Hearthstone" quicker with having a bunch of cards to play with, NEW cards. People want the game to not feel stale. The best way to do that is to help people save money on packs with bundles. Blizzard KNOWS that people love opening packs, and they've extended the opportunity to keep with the dollar-a-pack model far beyond the 50 packs that we've come to expect. Not only can you save money on 50 packs, you can pick up BOTH bundles, meaning you can save money on a total of 110 packs. It's a lot of money, but if you take a moment and look at how different they're doing things this time, you get a Golden Legendary with your many packs. That means you can open a bunch of packs, get all the Legendaries out of the way that you'd get with your packs, and if you don't like the Golden Legendary you got, not only have you avoided opening that Legendary in any of your packs, you can safely disenchant and craft ANY Legendary. People aren't thinking about this bolded part very much. Lastly, with having saved a ton of money on packs, if you picked up the $80 bundle, you're also getting a crazy cool Warlock skin.
I don't see the problem. They've really improved upon the pre-order season. There's a lot of value in these new bundles. OP doesn't understand that this is Capitalism for you. Whether you like it or not, Blizzard needs to make money, and to have them keep from doing things similarly to how they're doing things with this style of pre-order, you're just asking for them to stop making improvements to their sales model. Granted, it's super fucked up that pack prices were raised recently in other countries, without fucking telling ANYONE, these bundles are good. Hell, OP isn't even making note of the fact that you don't have to spend $80 to get a Golden Legendary.
Let’s get are pitch forks out and march they gone to far so much value there.
Man I don’t even make post for when I never got the murlock for shaman even though I did everything that I was told to do to get and it never popped for me
Right, same goes for me. I have disposable income and I only buy the pre-orders, so getting a portrait is cool, yea it's a bit more than I typically spend on the expansions, but I'll just drink a few less Starbucks coffees this month to make up for it. No big deal. If you don't like it, don't spend your money on; Blizzard owes you nothing.
It’s hilarious that F2Pers complain they can’t get the skin Without paying. It’s a fucking game! Games cost money to develop! You aren’t entitled to the exact same experience as some who pays. Please move on.
I hoped that the Jaraxxus portrait would be obtainable trough other means, not being a shared item in an overpriced bundle. Now facing all these Mecha Jaraxxus opponents you just know that its going to be some whale who likes to use fancy emotes. I hope this won't become a new thing as the game already lacks cool portraits that are more easy and free to come by.
While I wish the Hero had some free method for getting it, it's 80 bucks for 80 packs. And the hero charges nothing other than new voice lines and a new look. Maybe a new animation to the power. I can live without it, no problem.
They’re gonna milk this game as much as possible until Artifact and Gwent 1.0 comes out aren’t they? It was bad enough that they were charging $50 to preorder loot boxes, but now there’s a second preorder option, the Mega Bundle.
For those who don’t know, the regular preorder bundle is $50, and comes with 50 cardpacks, the Mecha-Jaraxxus cardback, and a free golden legendary card.
Now the Mega Bundle on the other hand is $80! What do you get for 80? You still get the cardback and golden legendary, but instead of 50 cardpacks you get 80, as well as an alternate Warlock hero portrait: Mecha-Jaraxxus.
That’s it. That’s all you get. For $30 more dollars you get a few more glorified loot boxes and a skin. $80 for a hero portrait, and it’s one that the majority of people will want too. This is beyond ridiculous. For two years they have been offering hero portraits for free where we had to do something to get them, like play WoW, or go to a Fireside Gathering, or beat Frozen Throne. They were all great. But now, they’ve locked a skin of a very popular character behind a $80 preorder paywall, that once the expansion launches you can’t get it anymore. They also said there are no plans to rerelease Mecha-Jaraxxus, so anyone who wanted to get that skin are out of luck.
I cannot fathom how ludicrous this is. $80 and all they’re offering is a skin, a skin that is highly popular. I know why they did it too, because they know people love Jaraxxus so they made him an expensive preorder bonus.
I beg you, do not buy this Mega Bundle. Vote with your wallet. Show ActiBlizz this is too far and horribly anti-consumer.
I know someone just like you IRL. I don't like him.
I don't really see what the problem is. Either bundle is a saving vs. buying those packs at the usual prices, and optional cosmetics are optional cosmetics. People really wanting it isn't an argument. If you want it then you act like the rational human being you should be and decide whether you want to spend the money to get it, keeping in mind that you do still get a bunch of packs at a discount alongside it.
If you don't like it and feel the need to REEE over it on the internet then that's one thing, but fuck off telling me what to do with my money. I'll spend it on whatever the hell I like. I know what I'm doing, and I refuse to be made out to be a moron/sheep/whatever you wanna' call me simply because you don't like it.
He kindly says vote with your wallet, nothing more really. No one suggested how anyone should spend their money.
You seem like a person that tends to cherry-pick to make a point. That won't make you go far in life, unless your parents are already rich.

In a few months the warlock skin will be free for Asian players while we must pay 80€$

Nemsy is already the perfect Warlock hero. Why would I want some fucked up half-demon half machine... wait, why wouldn't I?
Hmm.

Would you be happier if they simply did not make this skin so that nobody can play with it at all?
"I'm not getting it so other people can't have it as well", is it?
If not that, then there's nothing to complain about. No one is forcing you to spend money

Honestly, I think mech Jaraxxus is pretty lame.

Seems fair. As far as I'm concerned cosmetics can be any price, as they are cosmetic. If they came out with a $1000 skin I'd support that decision.
If it's worth it to you, buy it. If not, don't buy it. It's really quite simple.
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
Am I the only one that looks at that skin and think its stupid as hell? JRax original is cool as hell - mech JRax...just...why? Do not want. Honestly.
How about Blizzard sell me a skin that I do want? Like Tyrande or Khadgar? Y'know, one that isn't dumb as hell.
