I used to be like you. Paladin main since vanilla. I feel we have yet to truly see the strength of midrange divine shield deck. I've played variants of it before with blood knight and it's actually pretty good.
Also, I'm so happy that they didn't get murloc garbage or other unthematic cards. Like dude, just look at that art.
I've mained pally since league of explorers(only joined during that) and I can tell you that ungoro was their strongest set since "who am I?" That being said, this current set is in no way a great set for them so far. They still need strong cheap buffs to trigger galv quest and they still need a viable 2 drop... (Hydrologist is visible but it doesn't have impact the turn it's played unfortunately)
Like 2 Mana 1/4 gain taunt and Divine shield if you have a Divine shield minion on board would be up my alley.
I think Paladin needed to get bad cards because if they gave him just a couple of good/meta changing cards Paladin would become OP. Paladin didn't get bad cards since TGT and can still be viable class without any help. You have Tirion, Ragnaros, Wickerflame, Spikeridge Steed, Tarim and then Stonehill Defender to have that all again. And don't forget that Paladin has a lot of classic staple cards in every control deck (Equality, Consecration, Truesilver Champion, Wild Pyromancer that synergies the best in Paladin etc.) Paladin getting bad cards is just balancing out the game and classes.
Paladin has a pretty strong Classic set and in every single expansion it had (at least) playable cards.
Plus every Legendary Pallys ever had (except Bolvar) were insane (Tirion, Ragnaros, Tarim) or good (Wickerflame, Eadric). No other class has even close to this amount of viable Legendaries.
Not even to mention the brick-shit-bonkers other cards such as: Minibot, Coghammer, Muster, Quartermaster, even Solemn Vigil, Who am I?, Keeper of Uldaman, Anyfin, Hydrologist, Spikeridged Steed. And those are/were only the veeeery good ones.
I mean, in reality, this bolvar atleast becomes a 3/7 regardless if it pops its own shield. so in reality this one isn't even that bad (the past one though was pretty meh since it requred a lot of minion deaths that were just never going to happen until we had cards like stand united)
Beginning with all new expansions, it is spoken that paladin has garbage cards but Paladin has always at least 1 good deck with new released cards.
So It shows that they are not garbage at all, doesn't it ?
Also as someone said above, Paladin has good classic cards.

Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
The only murlocs that are class exclusive are vilefin and hydrologist which yeah are important but still with just the neutrals like Tidecaller, rockpool, warleader, primalfin, bluegil and Finja, murloc builds are pretty viable... Man just finja, warleaders and bluegils are good enough to be called the so water package and be in a couple decks without any other murloc synergy or support. With thiscomment I don't want thr support the op as it's just dumb cause paladin has a ridiculous amount of strong cards, and specially legendaries (No other class has so many viable legendaries, hell man paladin is such an expensive class to get cause the best decks have 4-5 legends fo sure) but still, naming the murlocs as part of the 'paladin power' is just dumb as all classes get access to the majoriry of them and could, if they wanted, to use them effectively.

A 4 mana 3/2 with charge, a worse reincarnate, another terrible Bolvar, a 4 mana 1/4 weapon...
Why are paladin cards always super overcosted and always asking for impossible scenarios to gain acceptable value?
Ragnaros, Lightlord
Spikeridged Steed
Sunkeeper Tarim

The Murloc gang would like to have a word with you
Except Righteous Protector is one of the strongest cards in the set?
Maybee is not garbage, but it is not interesting cards compare to other classes.

I eat Kingsbane rogues for breakfast.

At least you're not Priest. :)
I agree to this. I fear for control paladin since it won't be able to keep up to Rogues and priests. I hope the 9 mana Hero Card will save the deck
FOR THE HORDE!
Where'd you get your time machine?
Since you clearly know how good cards will be before they get tested

Because in the previous set Paladin was a tier 1 class. It's important for blizzard to not overload one classes power level
My prediction is that one month from now Blood Knight will be considered a priority tech card
There's just so much divine shield stuff in the next expansion that divine shield pally will be a force to be reckoned with
Question everything.
