Which cards from Classic and Basic do you think will be nerfed into HOF next year? We will have to see what the expansions bring and how they interact with a lot of the cards but some possibilities:
Leeroy Jenkins
Firey War Axe
Ice Block
Probably some of the dragons such as Ysera or Alextrasza
I could totally see Leeroy, Alexstrasza and Ice Block. Such terrible interaction cards.
I think Jaraxxus won't be as abusive once Reno and Thaurissan leave.
I could see them doing something strange to free up design space, like getting rid of innervate from Druid or something out of left field. Honestly, they should really get rid of crap like Savagery because it's just taking up space haha.
So ignoring that we have no idea what will be problematic this year, they're not going to hall of fame class legendaries, that reason being they only seem to want to move problematic cards that are either widespread in most (neutral, like Sylvanas and Ragnaros) or enable certain problematic archetypes in single classes (Ice Lance in Mage, Power Overwhelming in Warlock). Cards like Edwin and Jaraxxus, cards which have never been essential to the classes they're in, aren't those.
Ice Block isn't particularly fun but again, it's only in one archetype of the class (excluding Freeze, a dead archetype that will be literally dead in Standard with the next rotation), that being Reno. And that archetype, also, will likely die when the rotation happens.
This is why we don't know what will be rotated into the Hall of Fame, if anything. If they didn't rotate it this time, that's because it just isn't a big enough problem right now. Wait a year, then ask again.
I think you guys are mistaking Blizzard's main reasons for moving basic/classic cards to standard. First and foremost it is to increase the variability of deck building. Azure drake and Rag were so brokenly good at their respective mana slot that when compared with any other 5 drops and 8 drops that Blizz was planning, those other cards wouldn't compete and wouldn't see much play in all kinds of deck types (aggro, mid range, combo, etc). None of the cards mentioned so far fit that except for maybe fiery war ax but its hard to see them move that card to HOF for 2 reasons, it would absolutely wreck warrior in terms of class balance, and it would be removing the most powerful and iconic card from the class. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but it would be devastating for the class to lose that card. Cards like Alex, Leeroy, and Ysera are niche specific for certain deck types and provide variety in deck building. I can't see any of them being moved.
I might have agreed with ice block a month ago but with ice lance and reno being removed I don't think this card will be played as much as it currently is. The best suggestion so far is innervate since it allows for some seriously broken mechanics and combos and may limit design space for future cards.
It's too early to tell, and who knows if we'll reach 2018 if Pirates continue to be as strong as they are.
That being said, Ben Brode said he liked the idea of unnerfing Molten Giant and moving him to Hall of Fame, so we could see some Classic Set cards that were nerfed become unnerfed and moved to Wild only. Here's a list of other classics that could get the same treatment:
Warsong Commander: The most controversial nerf out of all of them. Moving Warsong to Hall of Fame unnerfed would bring Patron Warrior back from the dead, and it's not like they can't do it since Grim Patron is being rotated out this year.
Tinkmaster Overspark: For those who played in the beta I'm sure you all know this one all too well. Tinkmaster was the perfect counter for anything. It was a Polymorph any class could use. People didn't even care if you got the Devilsaur as most of the time you'll use him on something big. In Wild there's a lot of overpowered cards like Dr. Boom, Mysterious Challenger, Murloc Paladin, and more. Unnerfing Tinkmaster and moving him to Hall of Fame would Give Wild players more counters.

What are some of your best guesses?
Leeroy Jenkins - I could see it. Fiery War Axe - Probably not. It's core to the class identity. Ice Block - Maybe. It's not as core as Fireball or Frost Bolt. But I also don't think it's a problem. Probably some of the dragons such as Ysera or Alextrasza - I think either they all stay or they all go. I actually don't think these are problems either.
I think Auctioneer makes sense. Doomsayer would be interesting.
There's no way Fiery Win Axe would be moved as it's a basic. Only classics can be moved unless you want to rework the leveling system and replace a card with Win Axe. I could see Blizz debating Ice Block but it's so unique for what it does instead of just being an overall powerhouse card. To be honest, meta changes and the craziness of Blizz decisions make it hard to predict. I mean who thought Blade Flurry would be nerfed initially? I was expecting a nerf to Shadowstep in that set of nerfs as it can easily abuse crazy battlecries (Reno, charge on Leeroy, N'Zoth, C'Thun) but for some reason (I'm glad about it) it dodged the nerf bat.
I am sure you can remove Innervate or Win Axe , but you need to find a good replace for it and figure out the rarity to basic card change process. Nothing that Blizzard wouldn't be able to do. However, nerfs do make much more sence in these cases.

It's too early.

i guess edvinn van cleef or jaraxxus

There is no 2018.

Ice block, innervate, divine favor

Win Axe and Innervate.
Shadow Rager Kappa
One day this game will stop existing. I can't wait.

Fiery war axe is fine...
Leeroy and Alex are possible though.
But this is a dumb thread anyways.

Pretty much confirmed:
And Loatheb or something very similar should always be in Standard. Such an elegant card for counterplay which rewards knowing about cards and decks.

This is assuming that any cards will be moved for 2018. That's not a certainty and I think it is too early to tell.
playing wild
~nomad
neutral card with heavy usage
class legendary 100% safe. Because if they move 1, they need replace with other legendary to make sure all class have 1 legendary in classic set.
