I've had that happen when I tried Onyxia + evolve. 6 whelps evolving means 6 chances to get Doomsayer. Wild Pyromancer can also do some damage in those situations.
Actually the whole seven mana spot is pretty awful, I should really stop evolving fire elementals even when they need a heal...
You know that EVERY young Fire Elemental wants to be Baron Geddon when the grows up. Their true dream is to evolve again into Ragnaros the Firelord, though.

Not true - you could also get Antonidas, Prophet Velen, Hogger, Doom of Elwynn, Skycap'n Kragg, Stormwind Champion, etc, all of which would be better than a Fire Elemental. Baron Geddon and Rend Blackhand are really the only poor drops you could get, and even then they might be useful in some situations.
Yeah, you can get some crappy evolves, that's true. I luckily evolved something into a Hogger, Doom of Elwyn. Next turn the Druid player put down his 16/16 C'thun and Hogger and his gnolls just ate it! (Well, I had a few other minions too) Funny bunny.
ps. Always play golden evolve, the RNG gets a lot better.
They're some mana cost that are more likely to give you good statline then others. Knowing that, as an example, the 3-mana array is filled with low stats bodies with good effects is a thing.
Evolve is a highly hyped card, but I don't see it a staple in midrange Shaman. They have so much good minions coming out of this set and TGT (+ LoE) that they're one of the strongest class at this very moment.

My opponent had a full board (and I had an empty board) when he played Evolve, Ended up with a Wild Pyromancer and an Acidmaw. Wild Pyromancer triggered off of Evolve to hit all his guys for 1, then Acidmaw finished them all off. I then used my druid hero power to kill his 4/1 Acidmaw, built up my board from there, and won the game. Felt dirty.

You might have been playing me lol I don't remember the class of my opponent but I was an unlucky chump that this happened to.
That happened to me. I was so pissed I just sadly closed down my laptop and called it a night. If it was yesterday, you could have possibly been playing against me. I was beyond broken once that happened.
What kind of idiot evolves a board like that? Unless they were all at 1 health, doing that would have probably given him minions with worse stats even if he didn't get screwed like he did.
I drafted an insane shaman deck with 2 evolves. I'm playing vs a mage and I have a full board when he has no minions and I evolve just for fun. I get a doomsayer and he promptly passes the turn. I'm angry but I'm still in the lead, so I eventually build up my board and evolve with a couple big minions and a totem. I get a doomsayer. He promptly passes the turn. Two turns later I lose, after being only a couple damage off lethal.
Got acidmaw in arena. Got my board wiped a couple times by random 1/1s and stuff since I couldn't reclaim it as long as he left acidmaw alive. Couldn't kill acidmaw because there wasn't anything with 2 attack to attack it into. but since i was pretty far ahead i eventually won many turns later ~_~
Should have played safe and just not cast evolve, but TBH eveolve is generally a lot of fun, lol.

even rend is better than a fire ele,you get a heal on it and +2 attack.
The thing most people don't understand about Evolve is that the primary upside of the card is identical to Circle of Healing. It's certainly not a useless card, it's even possibly constructed playable... but it needs the right minions to work.
Just played against this shaman who played Evolve on a board of two buffed Tunnel Troggs and a Totem. This resulted in a Darnassus Aspirant, a Doomsayer, and Lorewalker Cho. He instantly conceded.
Man, I wish I had recording software XD
man you should have screen shoted it

I did evolve (with the minion) a damaged Azure Drake today......and got The Mistcaller.....so a 3 point heal?
I evolved Fire Elemental into Baron Geddon. He destroyed my board and lost me the game -__-

Evolve is tricky to use when you're new at it.

I played against a guy who on turn 10 dropped Onyxia and Evolve. Got himself not one, not two, but three brand new Doomsayers.

It is emphatically *not* an aggro card.
