You’ll always craft/get Spooky, but if for some reason you want Scary in your starting deck you can just go to your card collection, choose to view Spooky and switch him to Scary via a special utton appearing in the side. Thoughts?
I like the idea, but I think they're far too cheap to be useful. Drawing a 1-drop in the late game is pretty much always bad. Perhaps you could increase the cost to 4 or 5 mana and adjust the stats accordingly?
But the whole idea is that their power scales. Drawing a 1 Mana 1/3 Taunt is bad, but a 1 Mana 1/7 Taunt or 1 Mana 7/1 Rush isn’t
So, here is my submission for this week's competition, still trying to make it into the finalists for once :P
I'm not sure with which art should i go for the submission so i posted all 3 of them. Leave a feedback if you like one more then the other.
The card is just another dragon that has a new synergy with the Death Knight hero card and ofc it's a bone dragon, Arthas's favourite Frost Wyrm. This card is neutral so each hero can benefit from it's frost nova battlecry and giving the requirements, i don't think it's too overpowered. What do you think?
It's an expensive tech, so I don't think it would be OP, even if the effect is really strong.
However, the Death Knight keyword refers to cards generated by The Lich King and Arfus, so you should probably word it as "If your opponent is not a basic Hero" or "if your opponent played a Hero card this game". I personally prefer the first option, but it also affects Lord Jaraxxus and Majordomo Executus.
About the artwork, all are fine, but I guess the second one is the best.
Despite its meme potential, I would like to get feedback on the power level. I would say it is similar to play dead, so I could even go down to 1 mana. What do you think?
According to the Discover mechanic, this card would add the Discovered minion to your hand, but I'm not sure that's what you intented. If it is, then the card is not over-priced at 2 Mana.
Other than that, you should capitalize the word Deathrattle (and some words in the title too), and it should probably be a Priest card.
Here are the few ideas I had - not sure how to "spoiler tag" the bookstick so it shows as a token on AoD...
I love that Evil Dead reference. I'm actually watching the first season of Ash vs Evil Dead, so I'd definitively vote Army of Darkness xD Not sure if most people will get the reference, though.
I don't really like the other two cards, as Bone Giant is unoriginal and Bone Throne introduces "tribal" synergies with a tribe that doesn't exist.
Here's a toned down version of the idea I floated earlier. The art is a placeholder, I'm really struggling to find a picture that I like for this card. Any thoughts on the balance, concept or potential flaws would be appreciated.
It's indeed hard to find artworks of skeleton doggies, but I don't think the current one is that bad. I know, it's from a Tim Burton film, but it doesn't break Hearthstone aesthetics as much as Echo of Medivh.
If you are still not convinced, you could use Stalhound from The Legend of Zelda, although you would have to Photoshop a background to it.
Yeah, maybe i'll have to make "if all 3 bunch of bones survived then summon the skeleton king" :/
And its hard to find a bunch of bones art but i'll look at it !
Maybe just tweak the stats. I understand the feeling of the card to be like when you kill him you have to completely pulverize his bones too otherwise he will come back to life again. Maybe lower the tokens to 0/2, or raise the cost, or both. Point is, I think having to deal 9 extra damage to kill a 7 Mana 7/7 is probrably too much.
Also, if you changed the effect to be that way, then you can end up with 0/3 tokens on your board.
To be a little nitpicky, this card doesn't look too loyal, given it damages its fellow minions. Other than that, pretty neat.
Glad you like it! For the word, I see that it can be a little confusing, but I can't think of another word for "blindly supporting your leader". Feel free to suggest me one.
You’ll always craft/get Spooky, but if for some reason you want Scary in your starting deck you can just go to your card collection, choose to view Spooky and switch him to Scary via a special button appearing in the side. Thoughts?
Seems a bit too weak? It's basically a 1/1 Rush that shuffles a Voidwalker into your deck (which is probably not a good thing) and vice versa. Yeah, it gets good after you play both of them a couple times but games against Aggro are gonna be over by then and in game against Control you'll probably want something more impactful. Basically, I think could be slightly buffed in some way because overall the effect is good and interesting.
I've updated my card idea as well as the art. Any thoughts on this version?
Feels kinda weird that killing the remains brings back the original. Also, why is this Boomsday and not Un'Goro? Great card otherwise.
The idea that killing the remains brings back the original came from Bone Drake. I felt that I could put it into Boomsday because it had many different types of science, that I figured I could add a different type of science that referenced a previous expansion.

Totally fair on Bone Giant being unoriginal - because it is lol
My thinking on the Bone Throne tribal issue is that they're already doing that with Treants (and we had the whole card design thing about that what 2-3 weeks ago). So figured why not here too. Plus I have the humor of a 10-year old so am enjoying saying "Bone Throne" over and over.
I think without the Boomstick it would be more obscure, but hoping people get the reference(s) since this will probably be my submission. Glad you like it!

The difference with Treant synergy is that it references a single token that several cards use. Maybe two tokens, because I'm not sure if Mana Treant counts, but you get what I mean.
In your case, it's referencing a bunch of collectible cards as if they had a tribe, but they don't.

With Bone Baron being a class card, the Rogue has the greatest access to Skeleton tokens; why not support it with a SkeleRogue archetype? This could function as a unique board-clearer, pinging enemies with killer bullets. Not fully sold on the name and stats, but wanted to float out the general concept for feedback. 7- or 8-mana might be more appropriate; Lord Godfrey is a strong card that costs 7 and blows up your side as well. Chakan only targets the enemy board, but the condition is much slower. Anyway, next up: a multi-reply post!
How about dat obscure Chakan: The Forever Man reference.
Edit: I have a couple of ideas from months ago, as well, including my first custom card ever: Skeletal Pretender.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3

I went with the idea of a rushing skeleton that would fall into a pile of bones and reassemble just to rush in again and fall apart again.
I'm probably going to change the name of Skully and maybe the art as well. It's a pretty powerful card, I'm probably pushing the boundaries. But unlike Faldorei, it's only a one-of and you can't suddenly summon multiple 4/4's onto the board by simply drawing. Rather, it just lets you get a bigger and better rush removal or body as you get further in the game.

Danse Macabre: Allows you to "steal" the opponent's deathrattles. After everything triggers, the minions go back to their original owner, so it works like a Shadow Madness. Has some cool interactions with stuff like Rattling Rascal (you get 2 5/5s) or Ticking Abomination (you deal 5 dmg to all enemy minions).
Skeleton Door: Taunt that punnishes decks that flood the board. On turn 5 it won't do much and is weaker than Unpowered Steambot, but it can go very large very quick.
@linkblade91:
Chakan seems rather un-intuitive. What counts as a skeleton minion? Does it have to have 'skeleton' in it's title or just have one in it's art? Does it only count the tokens from Bone Baron? You only need 7 'skeletons' to get a board clear, so i think 7 mana is the best cost, but maybe make it a 5/5.
Terror Drake seems ok balance-wise but why rogue? There haven't been any dragon synergies in rogue so far.
Skeletal Pretender: do you choose which one is destroyed? if yes i think it's good at 3, but probably it should cost 4 (Assassinate is 5, Mind Control Tech is 3). If it's random, then it's kinda weak. It's basicly a random Polymorph that makes something 5/1 instead of 1/1 and it costs 1 more.
So, I know. Not much activity here. School. Regardless, 2 other ideas.
Cemetary Watcher has a very powerful effect, where it's basically unkillable during your opponent's turn, except with Silence. It has very weak stats and the Deathrattle needs at least 2 triggers. Think of it like pre-nerf Dreadsteed. Quite a bit stronger, but the Deathrattle only works during your opponent's turn.
Poison Trap is interesting. I don't know necessarily how good it is, but the really interesting thing about this Secret: It has more than 1 trigger.

My first thought is that it's too strong with the amount of value it could create, though it is a little slow. Otherwise, it could be fun to potentially trigger lots of DR's and rez him multiple times a turn. I'm digging the punny name, too.
The first one is a Day of the Dead themed homage to the Elite Tauren Chieftain, which I enjoy dusting off from time to time :)
The other card is a Deathrattle priest card, with an interresting effect, I think :)
Will try to give feedback when I get some free time :)
The mariachis are definitely the better choice; the Priest card feels clunky, and it's not entirely clear how it would work. Does the Deathrattle trigger twice when it actually dies, or when you play it? Or does it double the card itself? As for the other, I'd make the mariachis Legendary, since all other cards that create unique spells like that are also Legendary, and it reinforces the ETC parallel. I'm still not sure many people will be into it, though.
Shambler is my favorite, though the idea has been done before. Cultist isn't bad per se but bland for a WCDC. Skeletal Mystic is OP compared to any Spell Damage minion and not that compelling either besides, I think.

Chakan is kinda cool, taking advantage of Poisonous while encouraging a new deck. Considering that there are currently only 4 cards that create Skeletons, though, and none of them good, the idea seems far-fetched. Terror Drake is a fine card, though it may be a bit bland. Skeletal Pretender is interesting, but it doesn't embrace the theme, and I think the big factor this week will be which cards use the theme best. You could make it a non-skeleton, even a non-undead, and the card would still make sense.

People, everyone is posting cards, but almost anyone is giving feedback. Be a little generous, please.

I agree with you that the name is super funny XDD
Hmm... I'd use something like Zealous or Fanatic.

Do artworks that feature bones/skulls but not full skeletons count?
Custom cards :
CLASSES : Alchemist (CCC#5 | Phase V) | Chef (CCC#4)
EXPANSIONS : Year of the Scorpion (Year Comp)
We would really prefer full skeletons. They don't have to be humanoid, as Bonemare and Fossilized Devilsaur would show, but Skull of the Man'ari is not a skeleton.
