Beat someone last night who immediately added me to both 1) call my deck trash and, simultaneously, 2) berate me for playing "tier 1 netdecks" in Casual. I WAS playing a trash deck I enjoy (deathrattle control priest) so point one was fine. Their second point is what made the whole thing hilarious because of the aforementioned trash deck being tier 1. That plus the fact that they were playing Token Druid so the irony cracked me up. Don't ever change, garbage people of HS!
Won Chapter 5 Kirin Tor Citadel first try with Paladin thanks to two super cheesy - but hilarious - pieces of luck:
The Upper Hand (look at four spells from your deck & reduce the cost of one by 3) carries over across echos. So used it on Sound the Bells! which make it an infinitely repeatable 0 mana spell and instant win for me on 4 of the bosses, including final boss (turns out a 110/220 minion is hard to kill in one turn lol!).
Got both the Prince's Ring (get a random Death Knight hero power) AND Stargazing (use your Hero Power twice each turn for 1 mana). So won another 3 matches after getting DK Uther/4 Horseman power and getting all 4 Horseman on the boards on turn 3.
LOL Paladin - The Upper Hand (look at four spells from your deck & reduce the cost of one by 3) carries over across echos. So it makes Sound the Bells! an infinitely repeatable 0 mana spell and instant win for me.
Oh man the Dalaran Heist is fun! Beat the bank first try with Shaman - had 1) the ring that gives you a random Death Knight power plus 2) the elixir that shuffles a 1-cost version of each minion you play into the deck, and 3) a deck that had 4 Loot Hoarders in it. The boss has Fel Reavers in his deck, so won by milling him with FIFTEEN (I counted) one-cost Loot Hoarders plus DK Garrosh's Bladestorm. Hilariously good time!
I play something very similar with success similar to yours, though honestly I play it more in Casual than on the ladder so take that into account. My differences/reasoning are:
-1 Wyrmguard - a lot of silence/transform out there now so they rarely taunt effectively. 1 is fine
-1 Northshire Cleric - one is fine unless you happen get both fairly early. nobody wants to play a Cleric on turn 9
-1 Divine Hymn - honestly i'd like to have two but wanted a free slot and I can usually grab a second copy off the Witchdoctors
+1 Acidic Swamp Ooze - so many good weapons out now it's almost a must-have.
+1 Shadow Word: Pain - makes the difference against certain key cards (Magic carpet in zoolock , Mosh'Ogg Enforcer in wall/resurrect priest, etc)
+1 Archmage Vargoth - can be very helpful and is a "must kill" for you opponents. Against other Controls I've had good success doing Vargoth plus double Mind Blasts and then he hits #3 for a 15 dmg finisher.
Thanks for the points. I had played Vargoth before but it just too slow. How does the weapon removal improve your winrate vs warriors? Ahainst rogues I'm currently at 80% so for that matchup it doesn't seem necessary.
I understand pain, but I just felt the silence is more important right now the other changes seem to decrease consistency too much. Btw having cleric on 9 doesn't have to be horrible if you can combine it with heal you draw a card and get some more minions on the board.
Ooze helps mostly when you're playing Bomb/Blastmaster Boom since it kills Wrenchcalibur. Denying 1-3 bombs can make a big difference given how much of your deck you're going to run through. And while not necessary against tempo/lackey rogue, I've found it invaluable (and earned a few insta-concedes) against the occasional "pure" tesspionage rogue who builds a 8/5 Spectral Cutlass that I remove.
I don't disagree on your points about my cards/why you include yours. I tend to focus on versatility and teching vs a what i'm seeing a lot of in my local meta. If I start seeing less control I'll probably kill Vargoth & same with Pain if less zoolock, but for now i'm running against so many control shamans, big shamans, mech warriors, & carpet zoolocks, that I've gotten good value off both those cards often enough to keep.

This. When he said that "[chapters 3-5] will be released over the following weeks" I almost threw my mouse at the screen! It looks like they put in a lot of effort, but good lord Blizzard taking two full months to FULLY roll out an expansion is the height of bullshit. I know I'll play it, but the hype train has derailed right into a fucking river gorge...
Sometimes it's the little things - got an 80g challenge and "friend" used a fun looking Hunter meme deck. They gave me the list and have gone 3-0 with it today. Always a nice way to start a day!
Is this Hearthstone?
Is this just fantasy?

Anyway the player sentiment blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me (cause I don't work here anymoreeeee)
If you go to https://hsreplay.net and click on the wild class win-rate, you will see that mage is the second worst class.
If this is so, then why the fuck did I just face 5 mages in a row? One of my opponents played Even Shaman a few games ago and they switched to tempo mage. This archtype is the one I despised the most back in the days and I still hate facing it in wild. I try to play around the f*cking secrets and even though I know how to counter them (cheap and durable minions into Runes, cheap spells into counterspell), my mage opponents always top-deck the needed burn to kill me off. And I struggle to find my Ooze. F*cking hell.
I'm just going to say it - tempo mage is a degenerate deck. That's all.
I don't buy the stats on HSReplay at all. It says right now that Big Shaman is only 2.2% of matches? Then I must be the Belle of the Ball here since they've been probably 30-35% of my matches in the last 2 days - and that's regardless of what deck I'm playing. Win some-lose some so not overly salty about it, but it's so damn frustrating when 90% of your matches are the same 3 decks.

It literally says in the video that there will be a Heroic mode that opens once you clear the whole adventure @ 04:45 mark.

Poultryze is definitely the better card - it might be less "fun" but you can bet it would see play since its basically a better Polymorph
