Well you don't really need boom. I mean yes it helps but your losing so much dust. 1200 to dust lost if you ever wanted to re craft him. Maybe he becomes viable again who knows. I would say its best to try and get to rank 5 or do arenas for that 400 dust and only dust other crappy legendaries
Cenarius is totally out of the meta today. 2/2 taunts just isn't enough to protect face as for 9-mana drop, it's attack value is good at evading BGH, but sucks hard when you need to remove giant-sized body. +2/+2 is win-more (but a good one).
I don't play one even in Aviana deck. Difference in 1 mana between 8-drop and 9-drop is pretty solid (one turn if trying to ramp for it and can't play 2-mana spell same turn). And it isn't as scary as Kel'Thuzad or Chromaggus.
Tho I vote on "keep". Why? You don't know what would be in meta after one year. Probably some sort of token deck that can abuse +2/+2 ability? Who knows.
I still think Cenarius is a good legendary, though surely worse than Dr. Boom. But waiting for 400 dust seems worth it by considering the risk that you will need 1600 dust to recraft Cenarius in case you want him. I personally use him in a token deck and sometimes he wins me the game.
It's funny because there was a time where just did NOT play any form of Druid without Cenarius. I mean you just didn't do it, at least not in any competitive way. Now it's like he's just chop liver the way people overlook him. I still run Cenarius in some non-combo Druid control decks. He's not a bad card by any means, just not that useful in the currently popular Druid decks. I think that could easily change at any time though and it would be foolish to dust him for a measly 400d. You can make 400d in 4 days with a little fortitude.
Wtf garbage and meh feeling? Then you never opened The Beast or Fjola Lightbane. I have Cenarius and it's an awesome card, just a bit to slow for the meta. It will find it's spot in a couple of ramp druid decks. Don't dust it.
Bro Fjola is the shining champion of TGT
I have both, Fjola and Eydis and tried to fit them in any sort of decks. They worked quite fine in a combo priest, but got replaced by Djinni after LoE. There is literally no use for bane sisters at the moment. I'm not dusting them though.
I would say that although, obviously, Dr. Boom a better and far more versatile card, Cenarius is not one of the legendaries that you should dust right now. Sure, it is not the most used card in the current meta, but it definetely deserves a place in your collection. Also, it should not take very long at all (< 1 week) for you to get that 400 dust for Boom. Then you can have them both!
It's a slow situational card, and those are useless. We have sticky mid-range decks that can race facehunter to 6 now. Cumbersome turn 9+ plays are long since dead and buried.
I wouldn't necessarily dust it, but it doesn't belong in any currently viable deck (and not really in a half-assed one either).

So you started playing when BRM got released? Good to know, noob.
That is the most stupidly absurd post I have seen in a long time on this forum. How can commenting on how good a card is now in any way or form signify when I started playing HS?
I don't really feel very insulted being called a "noob" by someone who thinks Cenarius can be strong because your opponent let's your small minions live. I assume that when we discuss the strength of a card that we're not talking about casual games or rank 18 - the natural habitat of people who let small druid minions live on turn 9+.
OK - 7 mana may be stretching the truth but the ability is clearly worth more than 3 mana as many people are suggesting that Savage Roar should be nerfed to 4 mana.
Can we tentatively say that a spell giving a permanent +2/+2 to all of your minions would cost 5? I this case, Cenarius gives you a 5/8 for 4 additional mana (and no extra card).
Seems decent, particularly as you can still get great value from Cenarius with an empty board by simply using the 2*2/2 Taunt mode.

Gamestate is hugely different on turn 9+ compared to turn 5-7. Most of the time when you have the board on those turns you would win as druid, and if you want to win without it, you'd usually want to do it from hand... not hand and betting on your opponent not having an answer.
Cenarious has huge potential value, but it is simply too slow for today's HS.

keep Cenarius, he's worth it

Keep Cenarius!
Always rank 15-20.
Just opened a gold one - dusted my ordinary which was the first legendary I crafted...
Prob worth keeping as it used to be a staple in late-game druid decks.
Taunt druid will be back eventually, just needs some efficient early game removal. I can see a good Kelthuzad-Reno build waiting to be made.
Cenarius is garbage? I can tolerate not top tier, but garbage? 9/12 worth of stats is garbage, ok. Please, go ahead, dust the garbage.
In a druid deck that doesn't run double combo, and instead pursues value Cenarius is very good. To dust him would be crazy.
Use naga witch druid and power up on turn 6.
Cenarius is amazing. Be glad you don't have to dust 5 Wilfred Fizzlebangs from your initial TGT 50 Card pull :|
Boom is too much Value he's boring. It's really sad.
Ysera , Sylvanas Windrunner and Bloodmage Thalnos where my first three .. i felt pretty happy with them, Cenarius is a great pull . I love it even if I don't play it a lot in this meta
Maybe they will like this signature .. :o

Comparison to Dr. Boom would make you dust 90%+ of your entire collection.
Try some other comparisons to make you more pro-Cenarius :
Cenarius less commonly-used ability has been printed as a 7 mana spell!
Everyfin is Awesome
