The only good scenario for this card is a Handlock with 3+ giants on the board. But then you could just eq + consec.
It is useless against aggro since most minions already have 1 attack. It is useless against other control decks since they generally have 1 big minion.
3/7 for 7 that probably can not kill anything that's on the board. But hey! It surely is the highest attack minion on the board!
Will see the same amount of play as bolvar.
What? What aggro decks are you facing with 1 attack minions? Outside of Webspinner and Hounds... Aggro decks are usually 3-4 attack on average I'd say. Plus saying you could just "eq+consec" relies on two cards in hand.
I already HATED playing against paladins. Silence your taunts. Turn all of your 4+ attack minions into 1 attack minions, unless they're killed for free by Divine Shield + buff or a weapon. They flood the board. You clear it. They draw 5 cards and flood the board again. You clear half their board. They flood the board even more.
Why everybody repeating this "against aggro" mantra? It's obvious anti-midrange card. Even if you turn two big creatures into two small attack creatures, it's a win situation. Imagine against 3-4 minions?
And it's body is fine. It dies only to full board after his ability.
Seems too situational for my liking. The stats alone are worth ~4.5 mana, so you are paying ~2.5 mana for the Battlecry.
In comparison:
- Aldor Peacekeeper costs 3 mana and has stats worth ~2.5 mana, so its Battlecry costs ~0.5 mana.
- Humility costs 1 mana and is never played.
Most of the time, you only need to neutralise one big threat, and Aldor Peacekeeper is good enough (plus its cost allows you to play it before Turn 7 against threats like early Giants). It is seldom the case that the opponent will have multiple minions with high attack on the board, so you will rarely get value from Eadric.
So, barring the rise of a new mid-range archetype (where you commonly see 2-3 minions on the board each with 4+ attack), I don't think Eadric will see much play.
Another bad pally legend. This is not what paladin needed. It had plenty of survivability and was more then capable of handling big minions with aldor peacekeeper, equality, and even to a lesser extent humility. Another missed opportunity.
Although I was expecting a big legendary Retri Paladin, able to close the game for control decks a la Grommash, I can't say that I am disappointed by this card. Even if you hit two biggies it's cool.

Situational hahahahaha, so is big game hunter, Harrison jones, Black knight, and so on. This card is going to be amazing for control paladin, and why neutralise one big threat when you can neutralise his entire board? This card and the Tuskarr Jouster are going to make control paladin allot more viable, perhaps even Justicar trueheart aswell. Combinations like this will be very common when you add in legendary's : turn 5 Tuskarr, turn 6 justicar turn 7 Eadric turn 8 tyrion. I'm sure well get some more good cards for the early game, if paladin needs them to begin with. Zombie chow, Knife Juggler, Shielded minibot, Muster for battle and so on should be good enough to survive to the early stages of they game, from there on you just ramp on legendary after legendary just like control warrior, and outvalue your opponent.
This is by no means good against Druid, since Savage Roar would not care.

This is anti-aggro through and through.
Holy crap.... A counter for Dr. Boom and Grim Patron?
Shield bearer meta confirmed :o
Would be awesome if they give paladin some mill card. This would definitely be a thing then.
Really good, but so non-aggressive that I wonder if it will see much play.
as if paladins couldn't be annoying enough. ugh.
Community reactions to a new card announcement:
Keep it classy Hearthpwn.
This is insane. And will be so frustrating for handlock.
Its so good I'm scared. :)
I Have No Time for Games
Poor everyone who's not Paladin or Hunter.

Control paladin with their Equalities, Aldors, and BGH already had a fine matchup against Handlock. This card is awful. End of story.
This card made me clapped into my screen for a minute. Definately using it. Pretty strong anti aggro card.
So it looks like I was wrong, Paladins are getting cards after all, and this time they get a good legendary!
you think a 7 drop is gonna save you against aggro? that's amusing.

You can Equality and then Eadric the Pure to make all enemy minions into tokens, sweet!
