I don't know how strong it is, and I don't think its that good. But I don't play pally so maybe i'm wrong. Its a badass effect Im just gonna wait to see how usefull this guy is
He certainly doesn't win you the game. He is a guy who does not take the spotlight, but instead buys you time for your other heroes to take the board. I'm going to love seeing this card become unpopular among the power hungry players who desperately seek to snowball the board state into a victory.
Seems too situational for my liking. The stats alone are worth ~4.5 mana, so you are paying ~2.5 mana for the Battlecry.
In comparison:
- Aldor Peacekeeper costs 3 mana and has stats worth ~2.5 mana, so its Battlecry costs ~0.5 mana.
- Humility costs 1 mana and is never played.
Most of the time, you only need to neutralise one big threat, and Aldor Peacekeeper is good enough (plus its cost allows you to play it before Turn 7 against threats like early Giants). It is seldom the case that the opponent will have multiple minions with high attack on the board, so you will rarely get value from Eadric.
So, barring the rise of a new mid-range archetype (where you commonly see 2-3 minions on the board each with 4+ attack), I don't think Eadric will see much play.
If anything i would say his effect is never situational given that almost always there is something on your opponents board. that is a good thing.
Now what you meant i think is that its hard to get the max value out of this card and its true.
Its more of a control type card and doesnt fit the midrange paladin. its a decent comeback/punish mechanic.
opponent has a belcher and a shredder and some other 2/2 crap. 7 mana a mage can flame strike. this will kill the 2/2 and the shredder but belcher will live. this will leave you with with 0 power on board and you will be facing a 3/1 belcher and a lets say average 2/2 from shredder. thats 5 incoming damage.
Eadric the pure will make 1/5 belcher 1/3 shredder 1/2 crap. with this you have 3/7 power on board and you face 3 dmg next turn.
thats just an example, . i think eadrik is good vs big and bigish minions and in slow paly, not so good vs faster decks. He even affects stealthed minions and untargetable ones , for the extra value :P bad vs eggs.
It's actually pretty bad. 7 mana for 3/7 is a horrible stat, no matter how you look at it.
Against aggro, you should be dead by turn 7, and even if you play this card, they will still be threatening with a bunch of 1 attack minions. Playing a 3/7 could lose tempo.
Against control, it's more or less an overprised BGH/Aldor Peacekeeper.
Guys, don't you realise that this card also, indirectly, buffs Aldor Peacekeeper?
It isn't uncommon that the Aldor is your only play on turn three, and often you have to bite your tongue and not play it because you know that there will be threats later in the game which absolutely need to follow the rules. With Eadric in your deck you can safely make that 3/2 Juggler follow the rules, make the Piloted Shredder follow the rules AND if the nasty Highmane shows his ugly face you can also make it follow the rules!

Those rules man. So many rules!
Aldor is now a legitimate 3 drop. Be wasteful!
Seriously hyped for this, can't wait to try him.
Aldor Peacekeeper has always been one of the most strongest 3-drop. thias card changes nothing to this :P

Indeed. Eardic makes a good card even better.
But since you are a proud Handlock player I'm sure you will realise that soon enough :)

Buffing totems to 1 attack hype.
enemy minions
i thought of that too, this n double equality like old times.
Only problem i see is that this card is useless in decks that rely on combos to finish you off. Like patron
Wailing Soul!
awesome legendary, realy good, maybe best legendary revealed so far...

Immediate effect legendary. I think its very good and if a more controlish paladin version becomes a thing this card will be a staple.
Legendary is too slow in my opinion to make a real impact in any kind of meta. In a control oriented metagame, this card reigns supreme.

I think it's especially nice for those pesky Adventure matchups.

This is gonna be a pretty damn good card in Control Paladin, I think.

This card seems very strong but in the new meta there will be many cards that gain value just from being on the board using a hero power.
I can see this card seeing a fair amount of use in Palladin, especially late game control decks but in my opinion its by no means a staple.

Oh, pretty neat! The taunt synergy could of course be real good, and for some decks getting rid of their one attack minions may be difficult. Nice!
But, seriously, could we get some non-human pallys? Sunwalker Dezco says hi.
really good card, i like it
