A 5/5 battlecry: deal 3 might not even see much play. This is absolute garbage
Seriously? What you’re describing is a 5 mana Flame Elemental(-1 attack) for hunter with better tribe synergies. Which would see play in all Hunter decks.
Kind of feels like a bad Flanking Strike. I mean, sure, a 5-mana 5/5 that deals 3 damage is good. But that's not what'S going to happen most of the time. If you can't overkill this is literally just a 5-mana darkbomb, which is horrible.
I mean, I'm happy they don't print even more powerful spells for HUnter, seeing how Cube Hunter is already top tier...but this....this just ain't it, chief.

If that's what it was it would almost definitely see play. That's just strictly better than Blackwing Corruptor. The problem is that this is actually "Deal 2 damage." since you need to do at least 1 extra damage for the overkill effect.
I think it's playable in spell hunter, but I don't think it's going to be the best card in the deck. It gives more removal options and -- i have to mention -- it can go face. (summons a 5/5 if you kill your opponent!)
sometimes you just need that three damage to the dome.
I think it's obvious what deck this is meant for, and it's just not going to see play elsewhere. I've been surprised, though. I marked it as playable because Spell Hunter isn't a bad deck even in the current meta
The best way to actually do something well is have no idea what you're doing. Then what you're doing will become what you have no idea you're doing, at which point since you're doing what you're doing without knowing what you're doing you're doing what you're doing without knowing you're doing it.
I’m torn with this card. In the current meta, it seems “just okay” for Spell Hunter. After rotation, Spell Hunter loses key pieces. Blizzard obviously wants to see Spell Hunter have a future, so who knows what will come to give it more value. Murkspark Eel, SI: Agent and Fire Element are all similar utility cards that have definite value in certain niches. So, why couldn’t this work? It’s hard to take a stance without having actually played it. We also still don’t fully know all about Overkill and the other cards that support that feature. I’m definitely going to try it out and give it a chance.
The one thing I didn't realize with this card at first is that it can go face. So I guess the versatility of board control or hitting face could make it worthwhile in a Spell Hunter build. I'd be willing to give it a try at least.
This could easily have been 4 mana since I feel the overkill requirement is more of a downside.

As it stands, the card is only ok.
Dibbity don't touch that!
Will probably see play in Spell Hunter.

I tried having fun once. It was awful.
Hmmm, have some spell damage in your deck.... use this on your own eggs O.o
Unplayable, too slow
But it's not a 5/5 deal 3. It's a 5/5 deal 2 in the best case scenario, or a 5/5 deal 1 in the worst case.
Arena card, don't see it having much play in constructive
Those who are given more in life, must not cling to it, but risk it all at every moment!

i fell it could work fine on a odd hunter: makes damage, leaves a 5/5 body (conditionally)
it worts the try
Yes. And if you overkill his face you'll get a sweet, sweet 5/5 devilsaur.
This could be an absolute madness in combination with Devilsaur Egg!

nope. it's overkill. 5/5 deal 2 to a minion
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.

It's quite flexible actually the fact that this could go face is quite relevant, hunters have a lot of ways to deal small amounts of dmg..
a5/5 beast that deals 2 dmg is fine actually, specially in spell hunter which has a lot of replaceable cards so it can go there probably as a 1 of
disagree that would definitely see play, nor is ladder the only game mode would be great in arena
