I could imagine it in most shaman decks. Overload, Shudderwock, and elemental have some spells you wouldn't mind doubling up on. It's a flexible card. Far Sight, Healing Rain, Lightning Storm. Even in a tight spot Lightning Bolt becomes a Fireball. It might not be in the same deck with Sandbinder though.
Each class is probably getting a legendary spell, so that's something to keep in mind for this. I can see this getting played in Shudderwock for sure. 24 health healing rain, double farsight, double volcano so it has a chance against even lock. It's also CRAZY with Bloodlust.
Mage discovering this through servent of Kalimos sounds bananas.
Discover is only Neutral and Class cards, so mage can't get this without some kind of convoluted RNG shenanigans.
It also has immense versatility and is possible even more powerful in control (combo with Volcano if you are desperate, played with Lightning Storm to wipe out any zoo style deck or with Healing Rain as a surprise Reno Jackson. It also can provide flexible removal for any control deck running Lightning Bolt)
This card seems like it will be in every shaman deck during its time in standard, and I can't imagine it will ever be outclassed in wild either.
Edit: It seems I forgot to mention the incredible power this has with Bloodlust in a token style deck, as well as the Far Sight synergy.
Okay so just to clarify, playing murmuring elemental then electra stormsurge would:-
A. cast the spell twice or B. cast the spell four times ???????
ive been reading the forums and it seems that both are being thought of as correct. anyone have an arguement for either???
If you look at the interaction of Murmuring Elemental and Brann Bronzebeard (or two murmuring or two brann bronzebeard), the battlecries trigger only twice (not four times). Therefore, I think it is reasonable to assume that A is correct (the spell is cast twice). Just read Stormsurge's Battlecry a second time and the effect will still be the same: The spell ist cast 2 times. It would be different if the battlecry said "cast the spell one additional time" or something like that.
I would like to know the interaction of this card with Counterspell and Spellbender.
For Counterspell, I am guessing it only counters the initial spell and not the spell being duplicated by battlecry; and for a spell with overload the shaman player overloads crystals twice even though one spell is countered.
Also, assuming the mechanic for Electra Stormsurge is to target the chosen minion twice (rather than second target chosen randomly): with Spellbender, if the card is a buff (e.g. Rockbiter Weapon or Earthern Might), what would the result here be? Would the Spellbender minion be buffed twice or would it be buffed just once and your chosen minion buffed on second casting?
This card has one of the coolest voicelines in the game. I might craft her just for the "Lightning can strike twice!"

Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
Sweet! You'd probably run this if you have 4 suitable spells or more, which is actually surprisingly difficult to do in Shaman since a lot of their spells aren't very good to double up on, but I still think the card is insane and will find a home.
Of particular note is that this card can give you two copies of Unite the Murlocs.
As the main shaman player for over years, I approve this card! If legendary spell will be presented that costs (7) or less, this card will be godlike. Otherwise, it's just a really nice card to have if two same spells aren't enough in your deck, very versatile card.
EDIT on July 31th: Would you look at that! I was wrong all this time!
Not terrible, but not broken.
Probably overrated, but probably has some use too.
edit: pretty sick value with Earthen Might. for 5 mana you get a 7/7 and two elementals added to your hand.

Correct. Twice means two times, not two more times.

Love this card! I can't wait to see the new shaman spells.

"Let me change your mind..."
I would like to politely disagree.
This card is insane in aggro decks (used with Lava Burst/Lightning Bolt as a finisher or Earthen Might for a tempo swing and refuel)
It also has immense versatility and is possible even more powerful in control (combo with Volcano if you are desperate, played with Lightning Storm to wipe out any zoo style deck or with Healing Rain as a surprise Reno Jackson. agree. It has so much synergies that it will be in most shaman decks. Propably not OP but one of the obligatory picks....

Seems really strong with Alexstrasza into Lava Burst x2

Electra + bloodlust is going to make a lot of people unhappy.
Odd Shaman with some Stonetusk Boars to add reach to any board you want to Bloodlust. And then stacking Spell totems to go with LavaBlast(Burst)
I think this one will be seen in every shaman deck.
Card is scary with Shudderwock. I know that you won't cast the spell more than twice, that isn't what I mean. Just that you can easily bounce Shudderwock back to your hand by playing Grumble, Worldshaker and some Saronite Chain Gangs first. Allowing a player to get this effect multiple times a turn. Shudderwock, Lava Burst, Shudderwock Lava Burst for example.
Though it's not entirely brain dead and I like that. It'll also double your overload I bet.
This + Raining heal for a super control deck. looks like Reno Jackson

I like elementals and totems.
Pretty good with AoEs and Healing Rain. Let's see what Shaman's legendary spell does.
6 mana heal 24
