So 80% of ladder decks will run this card and everyone will complain about it because everyone has a tag synergy 3/4 on turn 3. Or am I missing something?
This card has all of the tribal sinergies, yes, but also all of the tribal weaknesses. Like someone else already pointed out, it dies to ALL of the specialized tribe killers, instead of just one.
So I'm a bit skeptical that 80% of ladder decks will run this. But, like always at this point in time, it's early to tell for sure... we'll see.
This kind of reminds me of the MTG ability called changeling which basically makes the creature every creature type. It may have all the weaknesses of the tribe but it also has their strengths, it benefits from all spells and abilities that are specific about a particular race. And the problem with tribal killing cards such as murloc crab, golakka crawler and dragonslayer is that most tribal killing cards are not good cards by themselves and are mainly just tech cards and not many decks even run a tribal killer. This card is certainly unique.
1)Gets only +1/+1 from Zoobot and +2/+2 from Menagerie Magician because they hard-coded it that way (I think +3/+3 and +6/+6 would be hilarious though, would love to see a competitive multi tribe deck in wild).
2)With The Curator, the draws are in the order of the card. First a Beast, then a Dragon and a Murloc last. So if your deck has 4 beasts 2 dragons and 0 murlocs plus the nightmare amagalm you will have:
20% (1/5) to draw it as your beast, so you then draw a dragon and no murlocs. (2 cards total). 26,67% (4/5 and then 1/3) to draw it as your dragon so you get a beast, the amagalm and no murlocs. (2 cards total). 53,33% to draw is as a murloc (4/5 and then 2/3) - (3 cards total).
This is the best card of all time, 3 mana yeti-like stats that can take any buff imaginable and gives any effects to cards that require a certain minion type on the board. This is really good in standard but is probably going to be orgasmic in wild. It can be used in any minion type deck and is just really good filler. Any deck that needs a 3 mana card could use this.
I cannot believe they did this. I thought they would have dipped their toes in the water at first with multi-tribal tagged minions. I was thinking along the lines of a card that is a dragon in your hand but turns into a beast on the board. While this does enable multi-tribe deck building, I believe they will regret printing this card. For the next 2 years in Standard, Team 5 has limited their design space for 3 mana tribal minions. Every 3 mana tribal minion will be measured against Amalgam and if it doesn't have the stats it better have a powerful keyword, effect, or synergies within its respective class or it will not see play.
I've thought multi-tribe minions in Hearthstone was a great idea for a while! Here are some that are already in the game and just need to be retagged!
If I get this in a pack, I definitely will play around with this card. The fact that any crab counters it though... actually does hurt it, because if this card actually gets good, it will be able to be countered immediately.
How does this card work with the curator though? I know this will be wild only, but does the curator read one at a time, mainly, it will search for a beast, then a dragon, then a murloc? In that case, it could theoretically draw this and another beast, or it could draw this and not draw the other beast? Or would it search for the single tags first, then draw the remainder, therefore ensuring it would draw this and your other beast in your deck?
I really like this playable card, it has a lot of fun possibilities... and fits a lot of different decks and has a low mana cost. I hope to have fun trying it in dragon, elemental, and other synergy decks.

Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.

Let's see if I guessed right.

I'm curious how it works with random summon and card generators like Deathstalker Rexxar or Bone Drake
Voted playable because this card is the very definition of playable. Like, it's just trying so hard to be played, by somebody, anybody, please!
On the other hand, it obviously can't be meta defining since, as has been mentioned, any card that counters a tribe counters this.
someone at Blizzard just said f*ck it!

Finally I can make The Curator work in all of the decks that can't run Coldlight Oracle!
Oh wait...
