In a world where ooze and Harrison Jones aren't in every deck, this actually makes Rin the First Disciple playable. You spend your mana summoning spells and use this weapon to keep up a stronger board presence.
really depends on how oozes (and ooze type cards) will shape the meta. I like it personally to get those voidlords and doomguards out early or for free, but it entirely depends on meta.
I have to say, I'm quite disappointed with this weapon. Here I was thinking that the weapons would have synergy with the other legendarys, but of course not. The fact that this and Rin don't have synergy renders both heavily impractical cards. So sad that warlock isn't getting a great legendary this set.
Actually, I would say that this does have synergy with Rin, the First Disciple since once you play this, you would have enough tempo through the demons that you summon to play the seals quickly as well.
This card makes control Warlock more viable. Allows saves you a ton of mana (if it isnt destroyed) since control warlock only playes 6 demons traditionally. And 4 of those 6 cost 5 mana at least. But control warlock often has midgame turns when they are floating 5 mana or so. I dont see this card being played on 5 very often, but i can see it being a very good late game card in the proper deck.
Doomguard on 5 is usually a better play than this tho.
It's pretty cool that it isn't summon a random demon from your hand. I'm curious how that would work though in a game and if you can see how many demons your opponent has in their hand.
Horrible card that until a turn later has no effect... and in the new meta i don't think a weapon will survive more than one turn.
And that youtuber/streamer called Atlas... puaj.
The card is a bit dissapointing, though it has potential.
But what's the matter with the streamer? Imo he did a good video, discussed the card and offered alternatives and possibilities. Is it because of his name?
Keleseth only works because of the rogue/warlock hero power. The rogue hero power compensates for no 2 drops and the warlock hero power allows Warlock to play more 1 drops without running out of fuel. You can still win without drawing Keleseth in those decks but the downside of having Keleseth hurts the other classes too much if he isn't drawn early. You can't really compare this to Keleseth.
As a control warlock player, this is trash even if it triggered at the end of your turn. Best case scenario the text reads 'Starting next turn, summon a 6/6 every turn.'
I've played Jaraxxus in the current meta. Against modern control decks, they can easily deal with a 6/6 every turn. Aggro and midrange have already lost if they haven't killed you or snowballed by turn 7.
This initially looked good, but upon second thought it's pretty bad.
First, and obviously foremost, is ooze. You straight up lose 5 mana if oozed, and oozes will be present, at least in the first few weeks of the meta. If legendary weapons don't become a thing (so far, not looking likely, but Warrior and Rogue are still to come, who most likely will have a good weapon), then /maybe/ this might see play. But once a deck with a weapon hits tier 1, then oozes are played, and then it's no longer tier 1.
Second, the demon is summoned at the start of the turn, so unless it has charge (i.e., Doomguard), it can't do anything on its turn. So basically, you won't be able to actively do anything with this weapon until /two/ turns after it's played. That's a long time to wait for a 5 mana investment.
Third, most demons you want to sneak out are at or around 5 or 6 mana. That means you need to really summon two demons from the weapon for it actually make it worth it, mana wise. Why not just put in another 5 or 6 mana minion instead? You can get its battlecry and use it one turn earlier.
And lastly, those demons that you want to sneak out and avoid their battlecries. Yeah, that's great, but if you draw them without the weapon, or your weapon is oozed, are you prepared to suffer those battlecries? You can't build a deck around one single card where if you don't draw that card you are completely hamstrung.
On a side note, Blizzard really needs to print a card like Mindbreaker, which has the text "All Battlecries are Disabled". Would be a real interesting card, and one that would clearly be played in Warlock.
That is possibly strong, however, I'm still a bit confused by this whole 3 Durability thing on weapons that can't be attacked with.
If it were only 1 durability then almost every deck would run the tri pirate pack, patches and two copies of the 1 cost remove a weapon duribility. Already a huge amount of decks run this or this plus more pirates
So much ooze trash talk. Because Rummaging Kobold doesn't exist and warlock isn't good at stalling the game for this type of value play.
Right.
This weapon is staple in Kazakus warlock along with Voidlord, Doomguard, Dreadlord. That's 4 cards for 6 demons that you will eventually cheat out on the board for free. Then summon all back with DK. And Kazakus. All the value for 6 cards.
Not saying the deck is going to be good enough, who knows. But that weapon will definitely have its place in that deck and others.
If you play a 3 mana 1/3 in your deck just to play around oozes for your legendary, one of weapon then you are going to have a horribly inconsistent deck. You just can't run Rummaging Kobold to get back this or Ateish because unless you draw those two legendaries this is a 3 mana 1/3 that just sits in your hand making you as good as dead against aggro and you don't even need the weapon in a control matchup anyways with cards like Guldan.
Too slow, the only way this could work is if all of your demons are super expensive taunts, but then you run into the issue of consistency since you can't draw this consistently enough.,

Sure you can play it. I would too. But you can’t expect much from this. Because it’s slow and tempo losing. If you spent 5 mana do nothing you will probably lose.
Nope, you don't lose the game because you wasted 5 mana as a control deck, that's severely exaggerated. You can easily recover from this, play the rummaging kobold and stick to your initial game plan.
Maybe I'm wrong, I'm not entirely convinced about my own argument I'll admit.
If you wasted 5 mana as a control deck against aggro/midrange you are dead unless you have enough mana for a twisting nether/shadowflame the next turn and if you HAVE survived that far into the game you probably have already won, anyways. The only matchup where tempo doesn't matter is control vs control and this card isn't really necessary in that kind of matchup anyways. This card is best in a Tempo oriented warlock that wants to cheat out big minions ahead of curve to put pressure on their opponent, not to out value them.
I want this to be good so bad.

I voted bad because it's at the start rather than the end of the turn, so requires a whole turn to get any effect.
Too slow
English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes.

Good card. Art seems really ugly though so that's disappointing.

This is not a weapon. It's an artifact.
It lacks a Deathrattle: return this to your hand to become viable. Or at least a Deathrattle: Recruit a random demon from your deck.
Otherwise, it's trash.
