oii vey! I am glad people recognize this to be terrible.
What 8 cost minions are played? Lich King, Rag in wild... and then a few that have battlecries... so basically just Lich King...
If you pull Lich King on 7 its great, but the odds of you getting this before turn 7 and not drawing Lich King by then... not great (below 50% by my rough math)
Now throw in Rag in wild and maybe this is a one of in some decks
Edit: Maybe in Big Warrior with Garrosh. I think you need at least two 8-drops to make this not terrible
Big warrior may run it with Charged Devilsaur, because devilsaur can go face after this recrut or recrut from warrior spell. The issue is that warrior will better run spellstone for 2-3 5/5 in 7 mana slot.
I like the card. I think this explains why I'm such a TERRIBLE deck builder. Cards like this make me want to experiment. And then lose a ton of games as a result. Then get mad at how bad of a deck builder I am.
I swear, I had a demon quest where I just jammed 20 demons and 10 demon buff cards into a deck and it was amazing to the decks that I actually TRY and build. So sad.
A cool card that I wouldn't say is bad but will never be used in constructed. Only for fun. Even if it was a Battlecry it would still be just ok. How many 8 mana minions would you need to make this work in a deck? The answer is too many.
How is this a nerf to Evolve effects? Any card without a really strong Battlecry would then have to be viewed as a "nerf to Evolve effects".
He doesn't get it.
I get it. It's just dumb. Any new minion that has a big battlecry could be viewed as an evolve nerf. But I don't see people running around doing that. This at least has the potential to be valuable if you have an 8-cost minion in your deck.
The recruit mechanic summons a minion from your deck, so it's battlecry doesn't work. I'm pretty sure you don't want to just summon Marin the Fox...
The key is Dead Man's Hand, and ultimately if you run into the scenario where you didnt duplicate any, and recruited of all 8 minions, your Marin, it's still solid
There are some good 8 drops available that don't rely on battlecries. This is a decent card. Giving up huge tempo though. Bonemare's going to be better most of the time.
I thought it was decent, then I saw that the effect is a deathrattle and not a battlecry.
Sure... :/
A not random 8 manas for 7 manas + a free 3/3 and your opponent can't answer, why not?
Common, not all cards should be broken auto-include in everything.
On the other hand a 7 mana 3/3 who doesn't do shit because you already drew your 8 mana minions and realistically, how many 8 mana minions do you put in a deck? Too many and you won't make it to turn 7.
You might be mentally ********. 7m = 3/3 + in-deck 8m summon?
Never heard about something called tempo? or drawing the cards in the right order? Never heard of Skelemancer which doesn't see play in constructed for the same reasons? Value isn't everything. You're the retard here.

Also the quote button exists.
First of all, anyone who wants initial value isn't going to play a deathrattle. Secondly, tempo decks are an archetype as opposed to control / combo / face. Thirdly, I have heard of Skelemancer and play it generously in Arena combo. Fourthly, quote button is more to ridicule a post than a "reply"

No, I don't think you do. Think about it. You'll get there someday.

He is saying that evolve shaman doesn't not run 8-drops so this cards death rattle is worthless. Additionally any card with a "big battlecry effect" and poor stats is always a nerf to evolve.
He didn't have to be mean about it but he is right.

He wasn't being mean, my feelings aren't hurt. It's bad for an Evolve deck because you can evolve into a 7-mana 3/3! Jeeeez! I have to do ALL the thinking around here!

barnes pulling this on turn 4 (or 3 with coin) could be good tempo
kisses are a better fate than wisdom
1. Player 1 plays Silver Vanguard
2. Player 2 ignores it
3. Player 1 draws his 8 drop
4. Player 1 concedes

Too slow. No deck is going to be able to consistently spend 7 mana on a 3/3 that has no immediate effect on the board without losing too much tempo.
This card is actually one of the first ones that I'm attempting to analyze on my YouTube channel.

Looks pretty poor in comparison with Skelemancer. Dust.
Broken!!!!!!!
