I gave a lot of though to this as a Hunter player who's always wanted to play something stranger and I think this can finally open up the door to some wild plays. Of course, it's an instant include to all midrange Hunter decks and it's really powerful on its own, but the major factor that we're missing here is that the spawned spiders are beasts.
Now everyone is thinking okay, we trade, then play Houndmaster or Kill Kommand cuz spider is a beast. But what if we go for something crazier on turn 5 like Tundra Rhino or Starving Buzzard? After trading, we get 2 attacks with 1-1s or we get 2 extra cards.
Most of the cards that were introduced actually play very, very nice with those two.
- This card. - On the hunt summons a beast - value for those two, turn 6 one of them + spell. - Call of the Wild. - I'll add Huhuran, but it's very situational but opponent will probably never recover from this if there's a deathrattle + rhino / buzzard when this is played. Will probably never happen on high ranks, though.
You may say "If Rhino survives a turn, you win anyway" and I'm going to say that's not true. Hunter's always been lacking a good beast bar Highmane and in most situations you don't have Rhino into Highmane. I've played a lot of Rhino and haven't seen both in action that much.
Maybe I'm overthinking this, but I'll definitely try this out as I'm a big fan of Rhino and Buzzard, both of which are too high on the mana curve to be constructed-playable. Unleash the hounds + snake trap + unfest a must include in a deck like this, will see.
