One thing I haven't seen covered is how this card interacts with reductions.
Does the Emp tick transfer as it transforms ( as it is still Shifter Zerus )? Can you Far Sight this, transform into Chillwind Yeti, and play it for 1? etc.
Not that it changes the overall playability of the card, just thought it was a interesting idea.
To all the "unplayable", "trash" etc. naysayers of the present thread: I expect you to raise your hands in approximately a month from now, and have the courage to admit you severely underestimated the tempo gain it provides and the public's need to have some fun outside of a strictly predictable and god-awful boring way your deck is supposed to be played. Ok?
Or it's too rng and too unreliable. It will be fun yeah , like in casino mage, but its better to place a guaranteed card. There will be clips of course getting that perfect minion.
Its mana cost is such that according to my previous arguments, it gives it a tremendous boost in playability. I could understand the criticism if its cost was 3, 4 or higher - it would be "too slow" and could give you lower mana minions, but with a cost of 1??? Like they say in the mafia movies, "fuggedaboutit".

I guess this is alright if it can transform into a class legend. Its possible that if someone like Priest or Warrior ran this and got Tirion, its pretty much a huge game changer. Or if you pull something with near infinite value near the fatigue phase, such as Ysera. Its not exactly the best card but it could prove to be quite playable since it has potential to transform into a great minion.

How does this provide tempo?
You have a guarantee of a minion played at any turn you want, with the chance of it being instantly played on its own or with other cards going higher as you proceed towards midrange and then a full crystal set. And if the meta slows down (which I don't see happening so much, but that's a problem more for other WoG cards than this one), you can afford to wait and see which minion is the best to play and when. And the actual effect of the minion will not matter so much as just playing it for tempo. If you get a nice effect like a battlecry or deathrattle - which chances are you most likely will - then that's a welcome bonus.
I'm confused.... Does it turn in a random minion every turn of urs? Or turns into a random minion thats all the mana u can spend, or does it start at 1 mana and next turn turns into a random 2-drop??
It's completely random, so on turn 2 it could be an alextrasa (which you can't play) on turn 3 it could be a 1 drop (which you don't want to play) etc. You have to get lucky with the minion being relevant and on curve.

But you aren't guaranteed to be able to play it every turn, unless I'm missing something? It's a random minion, not a random minion equal to your mana crystals or lower.
It's a screwy version of the Druid spell Raven Idol. Each turn you discover a new minion. When the time and mana cost are right you can play it. i could see adding it to a lot of decks; but I would never add two of this. Fortunately being Legendary you can only add one anyway.

Dependable loan sharks since 1960. We sink our teeth into every deal we make.
It's mana cost changes to whatever minion it transforms into, so I could possib have it be Ragnaros, but ithe costs 8 Mana, not 1, so I can't play it if it's early in the game.

The thing is, as soon as he transforms into a Ragnaros for example, his cost increases to 8, he doesn't cost 1 all the time. The only time he costs 1 is when you draw him and you can play him as a 1 mana 1/1 or if he transforms into a 1 mana minion.
If he costed 1 no matter the minion he got turned into this card would be obviously OP.
Of course his cost will increase to the actual minion he transforms into, but the overwhelming majority of them are going to be better than a 1 1/1, and due to the fact he will be changing every turn, you can afford to choose him when he fits you best.
ITT: "HOW DOES THIS CARD WORK? IT CAN ONLY TRANSFORM ONCE!!11" Jesus christ... it's really not confusing. If it's in your hand, it transforms! Just because it "becomes" something else, doesn't mean it's not still the same card underneath.
yuck, well at least it guarantees u play on curve lol
What? No this card has nothing to do with playing on curve. It could turn into a fucking 10 mana creature on turn 2. Jesus fucking christ... chat level 26.

problem is that usually won't be on curve. If you could put a random minion in your deck or one of your choice, very rarely will this card actually be the right card at the right time. You could get turn 2 Rag and turn 3 Tirion, but you can't play either, and by turn 5 you could be stuck with a Webspinner or even a Chillwind Yeti turn 5 would not be great.

It's initial mana cost really doesn't matter at all. Aside from playing it turn 1, which is bad. Unless I am wrong and the cost doesn't change with the card.

Which also points out another downside which is that you cannot plan ahead at all with this card. You could get a great counter to the current deck (unlikely) but if it isn't on the right turn, you're going to be extremely frustrated when it is off by a turn or you didn't get to set up the board correctly for it.

Seems way too random and inconsistent, don't like it. Maybe it will see play, but with this much randomness, I hope not.

Not sure how competitive this is, but I love the card itself, very flavorful.
