Hmm.. If doomhammer stays the same I don't see this too good. Works well in a deck that doesn't want to overload and good alternative if you just want truesilver-esque weapon for shammy. Not too exited about it. Might be good in midrange, prolly good in aggro.
Seems mediocre at first. Why would you want to play this instead of Doomhammer?
Presumably, it won't be played in aggressive lists. When midrange Shaman was competitive, it seldom used DH, preferring Al'Akir as the finisher, as DH isn't really a consistent board control weapon - it struggles against other midrange and control decks.
The only situation where Doomhammer sucks is when you have Fire Elemental ready in hand. And that's a pretty big one. This doesn't have it and could (maybe, maybe) replace Doomhammer in midrange
Might also consider decks that run one Doomhammer AND one Twilight's Hammer and if both are in hand, can play what suits the moment best.
The real question is why would you want to play Doomhammer over this? If you are not going face, this card is way better. Also, it trade with Harrison Jones for free.
doomhammer is pretty bad if its not a finisher, as the 2 overload on turn 5 is pretty horrendous. this card would fit better in a more control themed deck that can still rely on al-akir as the burst finisher later on. curves out well with fire elemental
I like it, as we have seen so far most of the drops under 5 mana have under 4 health and with Naxx and GvG rotating out no more sticky minions like Shredder left to decrease this weapons value. It's going to be a solid card. 5 mana seems pretty slow but if you really think about it this card is not too slow since it summons the 4/2 and all. Also imagine hitting that 4/2 with Master of Evolution right after your weapon dies in order to get more value, I'm assuming the minion will be 5 or 4 mana. Only thing I don't really like is the art, I'm sure it looks good in gold though. Anyways this is probably a card that you'll only want to run 1 version of in your decks. The card isn't bad guys, it's just not on par with what Shaman has gotten so far.

This doesn't do 10-16 damage in one turn
Doomhammer doesn't either, you have to combo it to achieve that damage. Doomhammer is only good in burst/aggro lists where Twilight Hammer is better in control/mid range decks. I have no idea why people are comparing them when their roles are so different.

Surprise!
Seems mediocre to me, may be too slow. If only the elemental had charge...
They really like shaman this expansion WOW another really good card for shaman, damn it's an epic.. 800 dust argh...
Seems fantastic in arena. Too bad it's an epic.

This card is a good removal. Doomhammer isn't. They play completely different roles
I think I'm gonna pick up Shaman again. These look fun
What is an 4/2 Elemental? Does it have any special attack or something? Or is it just a straight 4/2 minion?
...There is just no way that happens...
(It happens)

If DH stays I do't think this will see play. Another reason it would be nice to know the card changes.
Comparison is most interesting with Arcanite Reaper which in rarely run currently. That may change too.
We get to summon a 4/2 Elephant? I'm in!

A bit more help and Mid-Range Shaman is a new part of the Standard Meta Kappa!!
It seems to be shaping up as a fine set for the most part, I am psyched for Whispers!!
I can't comment on the viability of that card, but I really like, that you get a body, once the weaponed is removed by any form of weapon removal.
