If you're like me and desperately want your golden epic at the end of the season with as little stress and frustration, I would highly recommend climbing the ladder with mech shaman. I have a ton of experience with one deck I found (probably a good 50 games) so that may have contributed, but I went from rank 14 to rank 5 in two days, losing probably 4 or 5 games. At first I thought I was getting lucky, but it seems the deck has amazing potential in this meta. I've outraced face hunters and aggrodins, outtempo'd control warriors and dragon priests and had a blast doing it. All credit goes to the creator of this deck but I honestly recommend you try it out.
Its that Power Mace magic. The card is integral to the deck as it usually means a T4 6/5 shredder. If you don't draw your annoy-o-trons you've basically have lost since the tempo is likely screwed. Extremely solid deck but its got its faults like all others.
This is good if you get it going at the beginning but completely useless if you can't pick up the tempo
Most decks out there don't have huge tempo though. Card like Rockbiter Weapon and Powermace turn things around in your favour early on. Chance are you'll get one of your 8 1-2 mana drops in your starting mulligan (if not more) so early pressure is easy to apply. Cogmaster sticks around to turn 2 almost every time, annoy-o-tron is a pain to deal with as is piloted shredder. I often finish matches off with doomhammer and spells which extends my reach far past what I could with just mechs. I even added another lava burst in place of harvest golem because of how nice it is for finishing.
You could try clockwork knight as a temporary replacement. It hurts quite a bit because of the potential swing fel reaver can give you.

"In this world where time is your enemy, it is my greatest ally. This grand game of life that you think you play in fact plays you. To that I say... Let the games begin!" - Nefarian
Good deck, it's been carrying me through the ladder while I've gotten back into the game. Haven't played for months so it helps that there aren't any TGT cards in the decklist. I'm not a real big fan of Fel Reaver, so I replaced them with Piloted Sky Golems instead.

Q: What did Avril Lavigne say when her Asian masseuse refused to give sexual favors?
Lol it's the middle of month how can this be an achievement? Even of you reach legend today it wouldn't be anything special.
I'm not saying "Look at me! I hit rank 5!" I'm trying to give a means to people who struggle to get there. If it's easy then good for you. Some people never break rank 15.

Cheers on your climb m8.

I love mech-themed decks, but I don't have any Fel Reaver and still a lot of other cards in my to-craft list. How much does its absence hurt the deck?
I'll try it. Getting tired of being stuck at rank 12.
Say "Wow" for RNG!

A: "So much for my happy ending."

Just played against one of these decks with my Control Warrior. burned about half his deck to Fel Reaver and had control of the board.

I can't imagine that the absence of Fel Reavers wouldn't greatly help the deck.
