While i very much doubt any of these changes will actually happen, i mostly wanna spur discussion
Deathwing the Destroyer - no longer discards cards. Neither deathwing has ever been good or even playable, and i think control decks need standalone good lategame cards rather than only buildaround lategame cards
King Krush - cost 8. He only ever sees play when cheated out, and i think it would be good to push a mirange hunter archetype so we can have more variety in the meta
Grommash Hellscream - give him +1/+2 (5/11). He hasn't seen play in control warrior for a while, and i think control warrior being more proactive could be an interesting direction
Natalie Seline - cost 7. Even though its effect would slot perfectly into control priest, it doesn't run her
Gorehowl - make it an 8/1. Even if you were able to have decent health/armor gain in warrior, gorehowl still doesn't provide all that much value
Guardian of Kings - cost 6. outside of librams, paladin's healing is kinda lackluster
Dread Infernal - cost 5. i don't think this card has ever seen play, for good reason
Force of Nature - give the treants rush. This card is too boring to be an epic, and it makes it have a similar feel to its prenerf state
Truesilver Champion - replace ability with lifesteal. It hasn't seen play in a while, and it could introduce new players to the mechanic of lifesteal
Dark Iron Dwarf - give +3 attack and make it a 5/4. It hasn't seen play since classic and zoo is a fun archetype that should be brought back
Fiery War Axe - make it 2 mana. It's sad to see the class that supposed to be all about weapons, run so few weapons, and only when there's a minion attached. Plus control warrior needs to have some good early game
wtf man...Deathwing was already upgraded. Discard cards is nothing compared to old deathwing, and it's very fair, the old one was unplayable. I'm going to craft a discardlock with it btw.

Hope you have fun with it, but even though it is already upgraded, it still sucks
just a lot of these have been buffed recently already
no need to change anything with them yet at least even though they might still be weak imo
but some of these are good suggestions are actually good for the cards that blizzard hasnt altered yet
i definitely want to see cards like cruel taskmaster, abusive sergeant, fiery war axe, dark iron dwarf, force of nature, and maybe some others to be brought back in some way though
highly doubt as well that there will be a big buff patch again in the future
About King Krush, I do not like the idea of it being 8 Mana. The better buff would be 9 Mana 9/8.
I like Natalie Seline to be 5 Mana 6/1 instead. 7 Mana is still too expensive for just destroying a minion.
It's not Grommash that needs to be buffed, it's Cruel Taskmaster. Make it 1 Mana 2/1, so that it becomes the same as the Augmerchant cards, instead of your idea.
Guardian of Kings is fine. Maybe +1 Health is enough. No need to be 6 Mana.
Dread Infernal is probably a little bit OP at 5. Maybe make the effect "Battlecry and Deathrattle" instead of just Battlecry and keep it at 6.
Just make Force of Nature at 4 Mana. I know it was nerfed FROM 4 Mana, but the powercreep should allow it to be back at 4 Mana.
Truesilver Champion is fine. The reason is doesn't see play is because there currently isn't any synergy for the card.
Giving +4 Attack for Dark Iron Dwarf looks better. So, it's still 4 Mana 4/4, but it gives +4 Attack this turn only instead of +2.
I like the Void Terror buff, helps Control to fight aggro.
Ritual of Doom is fine. It's a 0 Mana 4/4, pretty much. Maybe reduce the amount of minions required to 4 instead of 5.

The reason i went with mana cost on King Krush is because the only reason it ever sees play is when it's cheated out. either way, i think your proposal is fine
Natalie Seline at 5 mana would be so broken, it would be a better Vilespine Slayer, which is still a decent card in wild
Cruel Taskmaster wasn't meant to be an augmerchant and i don't think it would be good enough as a 1/2/1
The reason i would want Force of Nature to be buffed to have rush is so that token druid could have some kind of reactive plays to swing the board, because right now token druid often gets steamrolled or steamrolls their opponent because of the nature of full board buffs
Solid ideas all around. Just because a card was recently changed, that doesn't mean they shouldn't take another look at it, especially if it's not doing well.
The idea behind core was to give new players a FREE base set to start with. If you want better cards, invest in card packs from Standard. So I don't see any major buffs happen to the core set.

And? It's "Core Set" not "Garbage Set"... Creating cards just for the sake of creating them is never a good idea. Each card should have some real purpose in the game.

None of these cards are garbage, all of these cards are extraordinarily "fair" and that's the point. A base set to work from, buffing the core set just raises the power level ("power creep") even further.
I didn't agree with every inclusion in the core set, and I still really don't. I think King Krush could use a small buff I guess; though the card is in a Hunter OTK deck so I dunno what that should look like. Deathwing should burn cards from your deck, not discard them from your hand. Though the card has value as a draconic studies discover. Dread Infernal could have probably been the 3 damage Abyssal card instead, it's pretty low impact as is, but it's not a bad card or anything.
But like... just looking at the card pool and going "well nobody's using this" doesn't mean the card is bad, it just means it doesn't necessarily fit the current meta archetypes.

As the resident "guy who likes Hunter too much" I'd say best thing for ole King Krush is a cost change. He's an inferior version of that Illidari Inquisitor in DH that you can only have 1 of; and a change in cost won't remotely effect the way it's implemented in OTK decks that don't pay for him anyway.

if card was't played 5 years ago, when power creep was much lower (because it was outclassed by other cards) and isn't played now (because it's still outclassed by everything else), then it's garbage and reprinting it into Core Set was pointless. Simple as that.
- Blizzard cant buff too much a core-set otherwise the new released sets will have to be broken in order to change existing meta,
- What they can do (in order to refresh meta) are events of temporary buffs, each event lasts for 2-3 weeks and buffs 20-30 cards of the core-set, this already done in the past and provided some hype. in my opinion such events should occur much more often.
Bump Lightning Bolt up to 4 damage to make up for the 1 overload handicap it carries. Holy Smite is a 1 mana card which deals 3 damage; and yes, I know it can only target minions but the ability to target face means absolutely nothing if Shaman has no other viable threats it can present to the opponent.

Twisting nether probably too expensive. 7 is more reasonable.
Hellfire could cost 1 more and only effect enemies.
Ye, Twisting for 8 mana is way too slow, especially in class like Warlock.
Which card? King Krush? It's seen play. Not as a card in of itself, but at different points, it's a big beast that can immediately hit the opponent. I wouldn't say it's *STRICTLY* a worse Illidari Inquisitor, since it's a beast in Hunter. But I don't think the card would be busted if it was more aggressive stated (9/7 or 10/6 or something), or an 8 drop.
Twisting Nether is a hard board removal, it can't really be any cheaper than it is. Warlock has a huge amount of mid-game hard removal as it is anyway.

But no thx, i dont need old pirate warrior back
