People wanted a new class, so Blizzard released one alongside standard. On a serious note, Shaman isn't overpowered, it's just that people don't really know how to counter this "new" class because it had not seen play for far too long. Also, people usually read guides/netdeck so it isn't surprising how they can't confront new decks/problems.
Those cards were probably in your deck anyway, so you mulligan aggressively for them when facing Thrall.
Other classes will have to adapt and consider running things like Mulch and Polymorph. Overall, I don't disagree with your point and kind of wish the card was a 6/6, but it isn't broken enough to need a nerf. If anything, I wish they had nerfed Doomhammer.
The problem is that it's not like it's their only way to win. You can't hard mulligan for removal for it because then you'll be completely run over by tunnel trogg, totem golem etc. There are counters to it obviously, but I think they actually went a little overboard with this one. The made face shaman stronger, an already very strong deck, and took away or nerfed most of the tools to counter them.
It's too early to say really, but I think face shaman is probably too strong.
Face Shaman will probably be the new Secret Paladin.
The problem with Secret Paladin was turn 5-6 when, after they curved usually well, you had that Christmas Tree to deal with + 6/6 body. If you could clear that (possible with right tools in hand and on board, but not very likely) - you were set. Shaman you can stop with enough removal, even if they curve well.

It's like comparing apples and oranges. Paladin has no burst, if you took board control you could stabilize and win. Against shaman, that's not the case. You can stabilize turn 4 and still lose because they can just smack you in the face with doomhammer and burst you with spells.
Most decks I don't think stand a single chance, no matter how well they draw, to win against a shaman that curves out perfectly.
Please calm down, it hasn't been 48hrs and it's WAYYYYYY too soon to say rather or not anything in particular is broken. Also styles make matches, counter the meta. I've not lost once to any aggro shaman because I'm currently running control shaman with healing wave, reno and Hazzieal (as well as Ooze, Harrison and BGH). Let's try being creative before declaring that aggro Shaman is king.
@MarineKingHS I'd love to see your list. I loved your Foe 4000 deck and played a lot of Reno Shaman before WoTOG hit and am interested to see what you've come up with.
Geez expansion just came out ffs, give meta time to adjust. Shaman isn't OP at all, strong sure but not OP and definitely not unbeatable.
The problem is most people want to play their decks the same way as before but with new cards instead of playing a new class and making a deck to beat the current aggro trend. Been having a good W/L vs face and tempo shaman with both my C'thun Druid and my Reno lock decks.
Give the meta time to adjust instead of automatically crying nerf and for the love of god try something new if old deck isn't working.
Most people complaining about Shaman are just having knee-jerk reactions. Their slow, new decks get destroyed by a typical aggro deck, and they feel that's not fair.
To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if 3 weeks from now, Face Shaman won't even play Flamewreathed Faceless anymore.
Wow. Shaman gets some good cards to make it viable for a change, and the first thing people do is cry about it being OP before the meta can even stabilize.
shaman is a very strong class in standard but hell no aggro shaman is like the best deck ever.... i believe that a totem shaman or a control shaman with hallazeal is way more powerful. and also i play standard for 2 days where are the shamans youre all crying about?..... i meet like druids rogues generally c'thun decks and some forms of zoo and shockadin. i also made a pirate aggro warrior and believe it or not it crashes aggro shaman to the ground. i think the game is pretty much balanced

Midrange or control shaman is nowhere near the powerlevel of face shaman. Midrange shaman is competitive now, but it still gets destroyed by face shaman.
I do however agree, right now it's not really a problem at all. People are still trying out a lot of different decks. I'm just afraid that when the dust settles, that aggro shaman is going to be everywhere.
Aggro and midrange shaman is currently tier 1 in terms of how strong they are. Certain shaman cards should get a nerf or cards from other classes should be buffed to improve the situation.
I win more than I lose against shamans, with various decks, maybe I just got lucky so far but I don't get the hate against Shaman. Obviously Evolve is ultra powerful, but it's certainly not impossible to counter.
I certainly had very little trouble winning nine games for the 10 free packs with a hastily thrown together mid-range shaman deck yesterday. I think the fact that every single card was a shaman class card, probably says quite a lot about the overall strength of Shaman in standard.
However, I was mainly facing slow C'Thun decks, which generally felt like easy prey. I never actually saw C'Thun played once in all the matches and had no trouble dealing with the twin emperors when they were dropped, even on the occasion when Brann was on the board and I ended up facing the triple emperors.
I do agree that once people stop experimenting with slow and un-optimised decks things will not be nearly so easy.

Midrange will be tier 2 at best after the dust settles, and aggro shaman is the only aggro deck left. It will also decrease in power level as people learn to play against it, but we need at least one viable aggro deck to keep the meta in check. So, there is no need to nerf anything.

You will see that Shaman is a piece of cack.

My Deathrattle Hunter has been wrecking all forms of Shaman.

It's funny how putting the words "shaman" and "broken" in the same phrase was beyond thinking a few months ago.
Seeing how Thrall also became Green Jesus in HS makes me suspect that Chris Metzen was somehow involved in the design of shaman cards.
Custom cards :
CLASSES : Alchemist (CCC#5 | Phase V) | Chef (CCC#4)
EXPANSIONS : Year of the Scorpion (Year Comp)
Ive been playin a totem shaman(not aggro, i run healing wave and 2 thunder bluffs) for months now. I love that i am crushing people right now :D
Aggro Shaman is not even remotely too strong - everything counters it easily. Other shaman decks counter it easily.
Everything has a perfect counter? You know what that is? Shitty RNG. Welcome to Hearthstone.
