Start playing some counters, I was playing this weird tempo mage list with double mirror image yesterday. It took a huge dump on every aggro shaman I met, and there were a lot. Mid-range was more of a problem.
I've been absolutely crushing with tempo shaman the deck feels legitimately broken. I was trolling around rank 4 before WotOG dropped just playing troll decks like Astral Communion, then as soon as I switched to tempo shaman I rocketed to legend with a >80% winrate. IMO the tempo list is way stronger than the aggro one as it gets to completely dominate the board even in the mid game due to Hex being the best removal spell in the game and one of the few answers to early Flamewreath Faceless while you also get to play Stormcrack to efficiently deal with other medium sized dudes particularly the 3/4 c'thun buff guy and Totem Golem.
I think also some of the problem comes from short term memory. Though faceless is a huge minion that will roflstomp you if you have no answer...is it really any different than an unanswered mountain giant on turn 4 or an unanswered fel reaver on turn 5?
I feel the flamewreathed faceless is actually weaker than the two other cards because if you CAN deal with it, it is a HUGE tempo loss for the shaman. I have started mulliganing for saps in my rogue decks against shaman because for every game I get smashed by faceless into a loss, I get an auto concede win for a sapped faceless on turn 3 or 4.
You also must realize things like a turn 4 faceless means no doom hammer on 5. Or a turn 3 wolves means no faceless on 4 etc. and plan your turns accordingly. I honestly feel my win rate vs shaman has increased in the past 2 days...if this is still the case once deck lists get refined and players learn their decks better remains to be seen.
I admit, I think Shaman is overpowered, but it is overpowered in a very fragile meta. Everyone knew that shaman would be good, and so they made the shaman deck and are tearing it up... me included, but I think when everything settles people will find counters for it and it will just be a tier one deck
I think they really screwed it with the 7/7 for 4. Why, just why? Who thought that card was a good idea? Shaman already had the BRM 4 slot elemental which is a good card and got a lot of awesome cards in this expansion. The playability and success of the class was warranted even without that abomination (and they nerfed its best counter, BGH, a week before release). Btw, this comes from someone that has been playing a lot of aggro shaman for the last couple of months.
Lost to one aggro shaman with my deathrattle mid range rogue deck.
The tempo evolve decks haven't been much of an issue, but my deck is favored against them. I just switch from a tempo game to a control game and remove everyone of their minions, primarily with weapons while building a board state.
I have played about 50 games since the expansion, and faced maybe 10 shamans at rank 5. I have won about 50% of my match-ups with them while playing C'Thun Druid, and all of them playing my Aggro Dragon/Pirate warrior.
Bad class given great cards for multiple expansions by Blizzard to make it playable the it vaults over the tipping point and has multiple very powerful decks.
Lol. I easily beat evolve shammans with my reno hunter. Idk how but i just destroy everything they put on the board. Evolve shamman is strong because lots of people are using c'thun decks. Thats how the meta works boy. Its the most balanced set we have yet to see. No dr. 7, no strong 1 drops, no mc.
C'thun is just a hype because everyone has it. Lets wait for the meta to stale down and see if someone figures out how to play the ancient one priest.
wow ask the three cthun netdeck priest that i just owned..oh so funny. i know so easy to be with the right draws/ no draw you die. welcome to hearthstone. have a nice day.
The only real reason shaman is crazy strong right now is because they dont really have any opposition yet, everyone is testing decks or just doing pure c'thun decks. Granted it's a really strong deck to be sure, but just give it a few weeks for the dust to settle, if they end up dominating the ladder for a month or two then it'll be very safe to say it's too strong. Personally I'm really not too sure what blizzard was thinking making them THAT good, but lets just see where it goes
Those cards were probably in your deck anyway, so you mulligan aggressively for them when facing Thrall.
Other classes will have to adapt and consider running things like Mulch and Polymorph. Overall, I don't disagree with your point and kind of wish the card was a 6/6, but it isn't broken enough to need a nerf. If anything, I wish they had nerfed Doomhammer.

Yes I agree aggro shaman is way to good it needs to be nerfed it makes standard not so fun like the 4 mana 7/7 too op
That's incredible!

The aggro Shaman is flat out out of control. That 7/7 is so OP. The face Hunters and zoo Warlocks are still up to the same shenanigans too.

Shaman is really good but so is my taunt warrior \/
Shaman is the new Paladin

Too easy to beat with C'thun Priest.
Simple. They weren't.
I hate it, but let's be fair. After so long being a mediocre-at-best class, let Thrall have his fun.

Actually I play control warrior and I'm doing pretty good. I'm only rank 13 tho
What warrior deck u play? been trying a few out but still not so solid
A 7/7 on turn 4 isn't that terrifying. Only a few classes don't have removal for it. BGH is a thing people.
Rogue has Sap. Paladin has Humility, Aldor Peacekeeper, and Keeper of Uldaman. Priest has Shadow Word: Death. Warrior has Execute. Shaman has Hex and mirror-match potential. Hunter has Hunter's Mark and (depending on board state) Freezing Trap.
Those cards were probably in your deck anyway, so you mulligan aggressively for them when facing Thrall.
