I will also miss mech shaman, though I rarely play it anymore. For me I think as mentioned it is a lot of the neutrals that will hurt midrange. Haunted creeper and piloted shredder (and egg to a lesser extent) were in just about every deck aside from aggro that I build for shaman. But since everyone is losing them it won't be too bad.
What we will notice is that the classes that have a better 2 and 4 drop will probably move up in viability. This makes totem golem better and might mean playing Fireguard destroyer more.... but it will put us below amazing class 4 drops like water elemental, which even now some people run instead of shredder. That being said, until the rebalancing of the classic and expert sets, I think I will just keep getting more confused each day......
Thought about going back to Totem Shaman if we can fix the consistency woes, but still, there were so many tough matchups for Shaman back in Vanilla, for example Face Hunter still only loses Glaivezooka, and we lose our best defensive card (Healbot)...
Face hunter loses Webspinner, Mad Scientist, Haunted Creepers. These are all common tools that give hunters aggressive psuedo card advantage. In fact, Earth shock now isn't necessary vs those cards and can be used against other silence worthy threats.
Shaman will be back! Before Naxx he was very good, maybe not top tier but Midrange Shammy used to wreck Handlock (best deck after Miracle Rogue before Naxx). What killed midrange was GvG, with it gone maybe we will all be back with a Totem version.
Piloted Shredder can be swapped with Fireguard Destroyer and personally I always hated Crackle. In fact I will miss Reincarnate... it was gimmick but it was very cool to try some crazy stuff.
Plz blizz, no more crappy RNG cards for Shaman and buff some of those useless Basic and Classic cards (Frost Shock, Ancestral Healing, Far Sight and Totemic Might)

Mad scientist and haunted creeper are way bigger losses than glaivezooka
How did I forget to bring up scientist and creeper -_- fail haha
Still, knowing the cards we have now, in Vanilla Shaman sucked hard against aggro. Zoolock will still be a thing - know that we got the TGT support, we'll see how Practically Vanilla Zoo does vs Shaman now - and Midrange Hunter will be okay. Honestly our Druid matchup is fine already, their nerf will help, and Tempo Mage v Shaman is draw dependent as can be. As long as more Reno decks see play we won't have to worry about Face decks, if not, maybe we can innovate together instead of just bitch about everything.
Doesn't shaman have one of the most powerful healing cards in standard with Healing Wave? It's not cycling out until next year, so if aggro becomes strong, shaman decks could use it.

Healing Wave, more often than not, is instant win against facehunter. I wouldn't worry too much about that matchup.
Sadly Healing Wave sits in your hand forever against almost any other decks because it's "just" healing. No body, no draw... But suppose "Instant win vs popular deck" is certainly worth a deck slot or two. :)
OTK Shaman loses the most valuable card of all - Ancestor's Call. So chapped that my favourite deck is going to get gutted and become useless in Standard.
At least there will be the Wild mode...sigh I don't like these changes already
Wild mode will fall out of balance too quickly. It will probably be ruled by broken secret paladins after pallies get buffed with the next expansion (since losing Naxx and GvG is a huge hit to them). I'm so sad about all of this.
I don't believe so. Secret Paladin is already falling out of the sky, and only a small tweak or a card that destroy all secrets and it's dead, even in Wild Mode.
Also you think that Paladin will get even more powerful minions than they have already. I personally believe that blizzard will be much more conservative in their next expansion. They are no longer in need to produce cards that are stronger than in GvG. TgT didn't had any as strong cards except Mysterious Challenger, and now with the new format this sadly makes much sense. But in the end:
Secret Paladin also can only play 30 cards, and nobody knows what happens. If there's a new 2 drop that's not as powerful as Shielded Minibot, what do you want to replace, Knife Juggler?
Also some classic-cards will get nerfed too. And Paladin does have some cards that can fall under the nerf-hammer.
To come back to shaman: Crackle will leave the field, but Shaman did have many problems with the stickiness of GvG and Naxx-Minions to a much lesser extend. As long as Blizz doesn't create another Piloted Shredder, Shaman is one of the big winner of Standard, althrough i will miss Whirling Zapp-o-matic.
Midrange Shaman suffered because if was a definitively worse version of Midrange Paladin but now the best cards in Midrange/Secret Paladin are gone so after Druid gets mega nerfed Shaman can take its rightful place as the chief Midrange class.
Also, one of Shaman's biggest issues were our basic three-drop spells. Some matchups they ruled and gave us tremendous value, the others they were almost unplayable...
That's still a bit of an issue with Hex, as against a Zoo with no Caller/Malganis/Boom it's lousy, but think the loss of Sludge Belcher buffs that card since there's so many games where we're tempted to Frog that annoyance instead of something important. Lightning Storm, however, will actually clear board since there's no more games of staring down a Shredder, Scientist, and Creeper and just bemoaning this Lightning Storm in our hand. Don't see Feral Spirit being much better - outside of more Druids and how great that is to block Combo - but we'll see on that.
Also... Playing with Earth Elemental right now and it's testing really good... Now y'all know Dr. Boom is going away, too... They won't have the fun in their sights anymore...;)
We really can't say yet that Shamans will be great in Standard, since there will be balancing of Basic and Classic cards, as well as a new expansion. But looking at it now, I think our class cards will now get the spotlight.
We already have a good 1 drop, Tunnel Trogg. Since Zombie Chow will be gone, I think this guy will see even more play outside of Aggro decks.
The 2 drop slot will also be good. Mad Scientist, Haunted Creeper and Shielded Minibot are the most powerful 2 drops, and they will be gone. Let's say hi to Totem Golem. Hopefully we get a good 2 drop in the next expansion with no Overload to complement this totem.
The 3 drops are also quite good. The 3 mana 3/4s are all gone (Dark Cultist and Spider Tank). Maybe Tuskarr Totemic is good enough? As of now, the only 3 drop that contests him is Blackwing Technician, which will only be played in Dragon decks.
Am I the only one who thinks Reno Shaman could work? I played with my own version a little bit and it seems to do fine, just need to draw enough early game minions and I have equal chance at winning. Today I tried Kibler's Battlecry version and so far so good. Haven't lost against midrange druids yet and won against the only Secret Paladin I saw today. I think the new 2 drops in the next expansion will decide Reno Shaman's fate.

I did not have a bad win percentage with reno shaman but I only played a few games. For me it just felt like it lacked a win condition other than your opponent dying of fatigue/boredem....

Oof, with all that aggro we'd lose Sludge Belchers?

You guys have no idea how the new cards will affect the class or the meta so...
Dont whine too much
Will depend on the nerfs that other cards will receive.

I think whatever they get from the upcoming expansion will be better than what they lost from rotation.

Finally, Piloted Shredder is gone. Fireguard Destroyer, anyone?
Belcher and Healbot are gone, but we still have Healing Wave. Maybe you play 2 of those instead so Overload becomes manageable?
And of course, Lightning Storm will hopefully be an actual board clear. A lot of Deathrattle minions are gone.
