What do you guys think of Arcane Anomaly as solid early game in Priest? In standard, we lost Zombie Chow which allowed for fantastic early board control. It seems to me this could be a viable replacement. Arcane Anomaly + Power Word: Shield on T2 = 2 mana 2/4 and draw a card; or T1 Arcane Anomaly + The Coin + Power Word: Shield = 2/5 and draw a card. Plus, what else is Priest really doing in the early turns besides casting Shadow Words?

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
I think that is a really good Idea. An early game minion has been the main complaint from Priest. This is a conditional early game minion but when you hit it, it will really go a long way to helping you deal with early aggression.
Turn 1 Anomly coin into PW: Shield you have a turn 1 2/5 to hold of aggro
Turn 2 Purify your anomaly turning it back into a 2/1 minion
Turn 3 Cue REM's "Everybody Hurts"
*I seriously do think this could be a good minion for Priest, I just can't help making a joke, because Priest.
Actually I thought of a problem. If you don't hit PW: Shield it would be really hard to make this good. Coin, Shadow Word: Pain are the only playable cheap priest spells I can think of, and Coin isn't a priest spell. There is Circle and Silence but...yah...It has negative synergy with Oynx Bishop too. You would prolly want it in a deck that at least to tries to hold out the early game with minions like Dragon Priest or....
Only problem is that it is a bad draw in the lategame... so as usual priest gets crammed between a rock and a hard place. Today's aggro decks aren't like the ones we used to have... these days they can sustain pressure incredibly well.
But yeah, let's hope it works out. I have played a fair bit of wild recently and have met a lot of priests. As usual they are horrible to meet and infuriating to lose against. We need them back in standard, to crush the hopes and dreams of shamans everywhere.
The problem with this card is that it is situationally good, only working out if you have cheap spells in your starting hand. And don't forget that those cheap spells are most likely situational spells as well.
It may work, but it might not, for reasons stated above. I personally hope it does work, though I'll probably just be playin' around with some dragon priest deck.
I've thought about it a lot actually, and I think it's definitely better in situations. If you're going second, play this, coin, and PW Shield, you have a pretty decent start, and the card loss is made up slightly with the card cycle in PW. It's not bad, just not super consistent.

Literally every early game minion is a bad draw in the late game.

I'd like to stay on the topic of discussion and experimentation, and not turn this into a "DAE RIP Priest???" circlejerk.
I think this card has the potential to be one of those "shit, I have to deal with it before it spirals out of control" minions, although it's not really a big threat potential like Mana Wyrm or Darkshire Councilman unfortunately.

Ok so do you not run a 1-drop in your deck if it would be bad to draw it late game? What other 1-drops would be better for Priest? Would your reason for not rung this card ONLY be "I would hate to draw it late game"?

Another upside is that it doesn't die to your Wild Pyromancer
"Infinite" doen't mean "big" - it can be small and have no end.
and with inner fire, it could be a threat pretty early...
of course, this is a card that really misses valen's chosen...

awww Priest
Everybody Hurts...Hold on...Hold on....
I Think it has potential and is def worth experimenting with at the very least.

I can see running arcane anomaly in a Yogg Proest with Priest of the Feast and Arcane Giant.
This card is great in early turns along with cheap spells.
It is a bad draw in the late game, but it would be similar to Twilight Whelp, that is why Elise Starseeker exists

Yeah, except Zombie Chow, because you can turn it into a Mind Blast.
I'm curious to see if this will work, although Im tired of having to use combos to achieve similar results to other classes.

It would be if we still had velen's chosen...
The problem with it in spellpriest would be, that it is a dead lategame card and it doesnt challange much because the attack doesnt grow with this.
But ill sure will try it out if it fits anywhere its priest because of all the cheap ones that dont lose to much value whan played.

Not every 1 drop is dead lategame, almost Zoo cards, Tunnel Trog, even Mana Wyrm needs to be answered at lategame.
Voidwalker would have something to say about that.

It's about as good as Lightwarden in priest, which is not very good as it turns out to be.
