I would say wait. I saved up 2000 dust and wasn't getting anywhere with my current decks and decided to craft Aluneth and A Pyroblast to climb but it seems every deck and their mother counters it unless I'm missing something.
If you can get a lucky win streak it's nice but damn. Warlock Lifesteal and Druid Armor destroy me.
I just crafted Aluneth for murloc mage and it’s been a ton of fun. I climbed from 10 and zero stars to 8 and 4 stars on two win streaks with 1 or two losses in the middle. I’ve been stuck a bit the last ten games, but the book drew 2 spells in 6 of those games. It’s not an insanely fast climb or anything, but it has a good chance against everything but odd paly and odd rogue so far. Hunter is also tough, but definitely more like 50/50. It smashes even warloc. If you crafted Aluneth I would give it a try. A note though... initially I thought it was supposed to be played all out Aggro like other murloc decks, but that isn’t the case in most matchups. You have to hold off dumping your murlocs until you can combo them out of removal range usually.
Tempo mage is really matchup and draw dependent. Contrary to the somewhat popular opinion it isn't a totally brainless deck either. If all you have to do is throw spells at face and ignore the board then that also says a lot about your opponents deck (it's either greedy or bad, or sometimes just shitty draw). Your window of kill time is pretty short so a small misplay can cost you the game. Because once the big taunts / heals / removals come out you're not coming back most likely. Make sure you mulligan smart and use burn spells only when needed. Don't send burn like frostbolt or fireball to the face unless you're closing out the game or you need to freeze to avoid a weapon strike. You can cinderstorm to face if you think you need more burn for the matchup but dont underestimate it as an early board clear.
I also think murloc mage is a bit better than the secret mage for this meta. Things like taunt druid are easy wins for it and you have much more board presence. Secret mage was a little better when there were so many cubelock in the meta, and a bit less taunts. It is better against big spell mage than murloc though, because of counterspell.
Lol I m happy you can t climb with a mindless and autopiloted deck XD

Temp Mage got seriously hit by the Standard rotation. If you want to play a proper Tempo Mage deck, I suggest you go for the Wild ladder with the Secret Tempo Mage. But just to confirm your point, Tempo Mage doesnt seem to generate enough tempo in Standard in order to remain highly competitive as it used to have in the past (Medivh's Valet, Kabal Crystal Runner, Kabal Lackey or Mad Scientist etc).
I made it from 22 to 13 this month with secret tempo mage in wild.
Yup, it's a pretty terrible deck right now. I wish people would realize that and stop playing it. I mostly play druid so tempo mage is mostly a free win but it still has to be the least fun deck to play against in the game.
It's gotten me to rank 1. It crushes druids, and can punish a bad Shudderwock draw. Also puts miracle rogues and any warriors dreaming of the old days in the dirt. And also it'll beat the big spell mages almost every time. And also punishes poor Evenlock draws. Basically it's good at punishing people when RNG is against them lol.
It does lose hard to odd paladin and odd rogue though, which are still fairly popular. I've stalled at rank 1 because I think those guys are trying to get to legend as quickly as they can with the season end just around the corner.
Edit: Also, I refuse to call it tempo mage still. It's essentially a burn/"aggro" deck. Coming from someone who's been playing it a lot this season haha.

Its decent against taunt druids*. Tempo mage loses pretty hard to token druid, big druid, and maly druid.
I always rejoice when I see Tempo Mage (Odd Hunter/Odd Rogue) on ladder.
Just some armor gain and the game is practically over.
I actually think the version with Vex Crow, which was popular at the beginning of the WW-expansion, would do a better Job right now. But i haven't seen it in ages.

Yeah good point. I think I'm 2-0 against token druids (since taunt seems to be much more prevalent from 1-5). Again, since I'm 2-0 against them, I believe it was due to bad luck on their part. And yes, I realize how bad and "cancerous" that might sound lol. Basically comes down to if I have the right choice of Counterspell or Explosive Runes before Oaken Summons or Violet Teacher/Ironwood Golem.

The deck does well against anything that doesn't gain armour which is all Druid decks.
Unfortunately you face a ton of druids on the ladder...
Funny that I made it from rank 4-1 exclusively feasting on druids with mage haha. Took losses vs odd paladins and odd rogues here and there, but druid is almost an automatic win. If they don't have Oaken Summons, it's gg. If they do and you Counterspell it, it's gg. If they do, but you can't counter it, things get a little sticky, but it's not necessarily gg. Just push through as much damage early on with Mana Wyrm and Sorcerer's Apprentice, then try to think a few turns ahead when setting up for lethal, especially if you have Aluneth.
I just can't quite push through to legend with just the "tempo" mage because there's too many odd paladins trying to make a cheap, quick push to legend haha.

I've attached my stats vs druid from HSReplay. Not exactly the most useful information, but it's got the decklist too. It's a solid deck, it's just that it relies on the enemy getting bad draws haha. That can be said about a ton of matchups though.

I agree, murloc mage has saved this season for me. And it only happens once in a while, but Aluneth plus dollmaster in murloc mage is sometimes a thing of beauty. I came back from a sure loss against a recruit Hunter today. My tidehunters were 9/1 from nowhere. The deck does suck against priest, odd pally and odd rogue though.

i am 7-3 vs druid in my last ten ladder games. Think you are just playing baddies maybe or you got a better than average druid build?
If you want to play an aggresive mage you should probably try murloc mage, pure secrets is not good enough after the rotation, just keep in mind that the deck is highrolly as you need to have a turn 1 play everytime or you fall too behind.

Shaman even has too much heal with ancestreal rain, can somebody help me know how people get 56% WR with this?
this autocorrect made me laugh
Good. 'tis a pox upon the meta.
Goodbye to this cancer upon the earth ^.^
